Best video on TH-cam for the 2017-2022 Impreza oil change tutorial by far. Will be doing it for the first time on my Impreza. Hopefully I don't drain the front diff fluid instead 😅😭.
Couple things: cool tip with the trip mileage, I will definitely do that on my car. Also, would you recommend jacking from the front or the side of the car. Saw that you did the side, but in another video i saw there were front jack points as well. And how come you didn't jack higher and use jack stands? What would be your recommendation in terms of safety and clearance? Thanks.
I've always wondered of using 5w20 for summer since 0w20 sheer strength isn't exactly as good when it gets above 90. Where I live summers are up to 115 so I wonder how it would work when I get a newer car soon. I've been working with old 5w30 and 10w30 for summer mixing of my oils. I'm glad to hear 5w20 can be used for summer and 0w20 winters. Here winters get fairly cold and it never gets over 40° for weeks at a time and dips down to the 20s so a 0w oil is definetly reccomended when it gets below 35° which is like the whole winter.
**** Am I the only one that has oil change ocd?? Usually when I pop off the oil cap (to let it flow) I pop off the oil drain dipstick as well. As I pull the drain plug, once it's coming to a slow drizzle, I usually waste a quart. I pour new oil into the dipstick and where the oil cap is. In my mind, it pushes more "old oil" out. Lol
I know this is 2 years later, but thought I'd chime in anyway. There really isn't a good spot to jack the front from the middle. You have to do one side at a time
Nice video! Have you had any leaking with the Mobil 1 filters, I heard aftermarket can leak due to different o ring design! Love your Impreza, I have a 2019 Impreza hatch: full bolt ons, 93 octane tune, gunshot tune, dual exit exhaust, catless, and muffler delete, high flow res, aem intake, upgraded injectors etc. car makes 175- 193 at the wheels so it’s a blast to drive
I use Mobil 1 filter on my impreza and it does pretty good no leaks. I like running Mobil 1 Ow-20 synthetic oil i was way overdue for an oil change and popped the hood and the oil still looked pretty damn new Mobil 1 sum good shix
don’t change your oil that often its terrible fore the environment. synthetic lasts 15,000+ aslong as your note overworking the engine and trans like goin 90mph on road trip ur chillin

subaru is a homie for making it so easy and not having to remove any skid plates or anything.

Thanks again for this. I always check your video to remind me of the socket size! :D
Happy to help!
I think you would like to prime the motor before starting it. So it doesn't run dry for couple seconds.

Where would you put a jack to lift both front wheels at the same time so I could put jack stands on either side?

Thanks for the video mate
SO easy putting the oil filter up top. Only you can't prefill it.
Please do a video on the bus!!! 😍
Not that it matters does the car not tell you it’s time to change it?
It does not. Best practice is to set your trip odometer after doing an oil change. Or go by total odometer readings every 5k miles
I can’t tell if you’re turning the bolt to the right or to the left and I cannot get mine off. I’ve been trying for over an hour.
Lefty loosy
Ik it’s not related to oil change in any way but can you drop a link from where you got the exhaust
Look up “nameless exhaust”
Does the wagon one works for sedan? I’d appreciate a link bro
@@kushalprajapati8472 did you find out the exhaust name?
@@jeronimocuadras9531 yup idk why I can’t post a link but yeah it’s pretty good for $300

👀 source?
Is her Subaru automatic or standard?
Auto (CVT)
The FB20 engine takes 5 quarts even.
NO it doesn't. I've got an 18 Crosstrek and 4.5 - 4.7 quarts makes it full
Incorrect
Pretty sure you just voided the warranty by not using 0w20 😬
