- Before the all new NIO EL8 starts going on sale on the 16th of September, we had the chance to take it for a short test drive here in Sweden.
An SUV with six seats, comfort at the highest level and that is well packed with high tech that is meant to elevate and deliver a whole new experience for the driver. A powerful mobil platform (ADAM) that is the most advanced so far with its 1016 TOPS combined with the markets longest detecting LIDAR-system and other cameras makes it extremely safe on the road. Double champer dampers for a sporty and subtle ride. Elegant interior design that features a world first plant based alcantara material.
Twin engines, long range-battery (100 kWh) with 480 kW effect and all wheel drive making it do 0-100 km/h in 4,1 seconds. A claimed range of up to 510 km on the WLTP-cycle.

Fantastic car. I'd really love to see this in Europe. Nio is bringing the next level of quality and convenience to the EV market. This company will be a lot bigger than Tesla.

Really enjoyed your review. Much better car than I imagined. Please can you tell me the cost. Also can you do more than 2 battery swaps per month if you pay for it. How much does each battery swap cost and if don't have the baas can you never battery swap.

Thank you very much! It is a special car, an elegant one and its highly technical and feels rather robust. Prices start from about 1 000 000 SEK, a little under 100 000 Euros for the BaaS which you swap batteries, two times a month and you pay a monthly fee of about 1700 SEK. Each battery swap cost depends on how much charge there is left in the battery you swap, sonyou pay for that amount extra you get in the new. If you buy the car with the battery for about 100 000 SEK more you cant do batteri swaps. Thanks for watching 🙏
