Very cool and nice of you. It's called Karma, now you might of made a new good friend. I've done the same thing multiple times. As well as helping out younger fans. Who wanted a book but was either short on cash or couldn't afford it. I'd either buy it for them or up graded my collection with the store copy. Then either sold my lower grade copy to him for a fair cheaper price. Or simply gave it to him. Great comics you picked up. I bought all those new as a very little boy.
I do really like your videos quite a bit. I like the antique mall flea markets out of the way places too. You never know what you may find. Very cool 😎👍

I've told younger collectors, if you really like something, and are comfortable and willing to pay the amount, it's a good deal. Not everything needs to be a flip, it's always fun to collect what you like

Your channel is one of the most enjoyable channels I have come across since I got into the hobby. 90% of the channels out there are all about the money and what book are fluctuating and whats the next hot spec book. It drives me crazy.

While I watch other TH-camrs and like their videos, there is definitely an over-representation of collectors looking to bag valuable comics for a song and on-sell for a profit. Like you, I'm thrilled when I find a single comic in which nothing major happens but which I've been after for years to fill a hole in my collection. It's what collecting is all about. That and being able to share with your child - now that is priceless. Did you pay too much? Not in Australian dollars, maybe a little in US dollars but on the other hand I think you'd pay even more if you tried to buy the six Caps separately. Peter Parker #1: good move, it is significant as only the second Spidey ongoing ever (not counting the two magazine-size issues in the late 1960s). I noticed that at the flea market you flicked past an issue of Treasure Chest Of Fun And Fact: that's an interesting title, part practical advice like how to prepare for a camping trip and part short biographies of notable, mainly Christian people from history; surprisingly lasted from 1946 to 1972 with not a single superhero in its pages. Marie Severin and her brother John were great artists from the 1960s and early 70s at Marvel. Marie did beautiful work in the last roughly two years of Tales To Astonish on the Hulk stories and John, who was famed for his EC war stories, was stunning on Marvel's first Kull title based on Robert E. Howard's second most famous Sword And Sorcery character. More DC? Sure, why not, but don't feel compelled: I enjoy all facets of the hobby and all publishers. As I’m watching this, I had a price in my head, but I had the advantage of seeing you show the flaws. I think you paid too much, but can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same, spur of the moment. Love the content. Keep it up.
Yep, condition condition condition. Had I been more discerning I likely would have passed on a few of these. However in an upcoming video I use some as trade bait so it kind of worked out!
I find that those times I’m in a rush and can’t check the books thoroughly typically they’re not in as great shape as I’d hoped. Learnings for the future!

I went to that flea market when I visited my brother in Springfield back in April , I also picked up a few books there though most were overpriced. That flea market used to be a Dave's Soda and Pet Food City back when I lived in Springfield lol. Glad you got some good books !!! You should also try out Most Excellent Comics in Enfield. The store is HUGE !!!! By far the biggest comic store around and the owner ( Mason ) is a very nice guy. Love your videos
I’ve been to Most Excellent Comics several times, it’s an amazing store! I will actually be talking about it in a future video as I picked up a great book there. And I remember when that place was a Dave’s! Completely forgot until you reminded me!

I think you paid about what they're worth but hey, we win some and we lose some. It's all about the love for the hobby! Plus Silver and Bronze age are becoming harder and harder to find in the wild so buy em while you can! Good score!

Can’t go wrong with the books you picked up. I also have the Peter Parker 1 and l think your cover looked vibrant with strong color’s. I love a book that presents well and hey…..you get to hopefully read a great story! Can’t beat that!
You buy what you like DC Marvel image. It truly does not matter as long as you like the books. Regarding cost yeah I would not have spent that much on those books but if you like them don’t worry about it

Spectacular Spiderman # 1 is a great pick-up! I have that issue in my collection and getting for $30 is not that bad of a price.

That manufacturing error of a missing staple might be rare
I have seen (and own) books missing a staple, but on this particular book, after I edited the video I did find the staple upon further review, buried in the spine. Pretty sure it was removed and reset at one point. So it was there after all and probably lowers the value of the comic.

if you were just filling in some runs, i think you overpayed regardless unless they were prestine conditions (+9.4). i tend to skip non-keys.
I appreciate the candid comment! I do think I overpaid a bit for the Caps, but in a future video you’ll see me use a few of them as great bargaining chips in trades for better books (I also gave one to my son and he was quite happy to add it to his collection).
You may have overpaid a bit, but it's OK, as you still got a pretty decent deal and all seven books are really cool. Still working on completing the Captain America run myself - only missing a handful of books between 114 and 130 plus maybe a dozen of the Tales Of Suspense. Sometimes it's all just about the joy of filling holes in ones collection, regardless of price, condition, keys etc.
(And that B&B #82 looks STUNNING!)

Ha! That's usually true but I was eventually ok with my purchase. You'll see in future videos that I use some of these as effective trade bait for better stuff. So it all worked out in the long run and I made another nice guy happy.

What do u use to display your comics ? Where did you buy those thin white shelves? 😊
They are actually vinyl wall panel moulding strips, and they have a groove on both sides. I overlapped them slightly to nail them in, and used a boarded comic book as a spacer. Not the most elegant solution, but much cheaper than shelves!
But I am shocked that you didn’t get a copy of Uncanny #244 while you were there? But it was a great haul otherwise!
