    This is a great video, Phil. 👍🏼 The tent and kit looked really good, and I liked the space under the air bed for storage. 👍🏼 May I ask in your next video if we could see the rest of your camping kit inside the tent and why you chose it, as this would be really interesting and helpful? Also, I especially loved the coffee machine. 👍🏼 Thanks in advance, Phil. 🙌🏼

    nice review. I have the 2 man version. The great things about this tent is the speed and the little storage spaces between the tent and the door ideal for muddy boots. I use it for solo rally camping on a motorbike due to the speed it puts up so its great if its raining and you need to setup.I love how oversized the bag opens making packing it a breeze. The main reason i got it is drying out. With the 2p i can pop it up in my living room or at work or anywhere no staking out. I also dont bother with the guidelines unless its super windy. If camping as a couple i think the only real option is a 4.1 arpenaz with walk around height trying to get changed sitting down with 2 people in the tent is a faff. I could get the 3p for me but the space is just not needed neither is the extra weight or £100 more. A single raised bed with a whole bed space next to you for gear is plenty. for one get the 2p for 2 get the 4.1 similar pack size and weight but huge amount of room with good blackout. I love these tents dont get stuffy hot and with 2 doors you can get nice airflow. The extra porch adds space you just dont need even for 2 people. If you pull it up again and the brace is the wrong way stop and start again i would lock it in and fold the brace as you did. People saying its too dark are a bit special its a blackout tent of course its dark. get a non blackout then cook in the sun at 6am

    This tent is a real gem on the market, it's even faster to set up than a pop up tent because you don't need any pegs and the darkness makes me sleep better than in a conventional tent. Unfortunately it's way too heavy for hiking and when you stay longer in a place I'd rather prefer a taller tent where I can also live inside. The optional awning (rather hidden on the Decathlon website) gives you some living space to sit if it rains.

    • @UPHILLPHILL
      @UPHILLPHILL  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching and for your feedback. I also found it to be a little weighty but for me, I’m only camping with my car not backpacking so it’s no issue for me. The extra space, however, is an issue. For living/cooking etc the awning is an absolute must and definitely an important addition that I’ll be getting. Thanks again and happy camping ⛺️😁✊

      My method for just about any tent is alike, in more detail:
      1)flatten the undergrowth/level surface;
      2)Stretch the base on the flat and lightly attach the pins on main corners;
      3)Elevare the tent, centre and tension all junktions, finishin with repositioning and hammering in the floor pins to make dead flat and firm base and walls;4)Open and arrange the sleeping gear, leave tent on 'partial ventilation with mesh closed';
      5)Remember to look for direction of sunrise and reposition the whole thing again with entrance to tgat direction;))

    I wish Flextail would make a version of their pump that has two settings, high volume and low pressure, along with high pressure and low volume, so you could use it to inflate the air beds and tents. The big pump is such a bulky unit to carry around and it's the only pump that can inflate it to such a pressure.

  • @luc1ferblack

    I was thinking about this one for 2 people camping but there is a issue. when solo with the 2P you can sit on the floor and get changed then get in the bed. with the 3P the only viable option is 2 have beds apart with the 2ft space in the middle this means every time you enter you have to climb onto your bed to get your stuff from the middle and makes getting changed complicated. if you go with a double bed to one side someone has to climb over the other person each time. For one person save the £110 and extra 4kg and get the 2p version. for 2 people get the £200 fresh and black 4.1 apenaz its 5 minutes to set up and is a walk in tent. The only issue is drying it out as its 14ft long. for solo a 3p is overkill.

    • @UPHILLPHILL
      @UPHILLPHILL  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It all comes down to what works best for the people using it really. For me it’s great and works well but needs more space for cooking, so I’ll be purchasing the add on front tarp attachment.

      I definitely find that my 3p has plenty of room for me, my inflatable bed base, table, coffee machine and all my bike gear (minus the bike!) and has room to easily get changed all in a compact and rapid pitch n pack package. It also fits perfectly in the rear footwell of the car too for easy access👌.

    That tent looks great for quick overnight camps. What size groundsheet are you using/would you recommend with it?

    • @UPHILLPHILL
      @UPHILLPHILL  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Simone it is the perfect quick pitch tent for sure. The ground sheet is an old one that I had and is very slightly too big, if it rains, it would collect the water that sheds off the tent, so it’ll trimmed down for my next trip to very slightly wider than the base of the tent which is 205x210cm. I’ve always used a ground sheet as it saves so much hassle when packing away. The tent base stays clean and relatively dry and the ground sheet takes it all. It’s then chucked in a bag and cleaned at home😉. Thanks so much for watching and enjoy your camping trips with your new tent when you get it😁✊

      Hi 👋. I’ve seen them too and tbh I’m a bit puzzled as mine is still going great. I’ve found that it does need to be treated with care when rigging it up as the umbrella style mechanism can flip inside out so maybe this is where others are going wrong. • @Roman-nu1om

      that's because people pull on the rope like crazy without raising the tent first (if you watch the installation video on the Decathlon website you'll understand what I mean). Decathlon has since added warning pictures directly to the rope handles that should prevent customers from accidentially destroying their tent however some people are just too stupid either way
