After watching 100 videos and already knowing how to do it. I can confirm this video is the most straight forward that show all the tricks in less than a min! Amazing!
I find that making bricks procedurally is only worthwhile if you want to tweak a different brick style from anyone else, or if you just enjoy the procedural process. Otherwise, if you just need quick and good looking bricks or are doing renders as a business (where time is money), then already available PBR texture sets (free or paid for) are definitely the way to go.
@@razeezar There are advantages to doing it this way. One is infinite resolution, you can set the texture detail as far as you need to. Another is no repetition and guaranteed uniqueness of patterns, you don't need to choose between a high resolution texture you can repeat less or a low resolution one you need to shrink to get more detail. What is fair though, it takes a lot of playing with different procedural textures to get something realistic done right.
This is something important that I will not use (the displacement map on shader editor) because I cannot produce something using cycles with my laptop :(
When I tried to image texture "sand", why the sands is TOO SHINY and TOO HUGE ... Too shiny so its looks like grey metallic (Roughness I had is Green channel while the others are white). Too huge grain so its look like basketball size... I don't know how to scale down for this. I use Blender 4.0.2....
I’d just have a look at one of the Texturehaven.com examples and follow that. But I’ve used maps with slightly different naming conventions and usually Blender knows what to do with it.
I don't know why but it didn't work for me. and for 2 hours i struggled. then afther i added the displace modifier and import the displacement image and it worked.
The word you're looking for is baking, specifically baking to a displacement or normal map. You can check my baking playlist. th-cam.com/play/PLrB1kuJIjcg73JRwnk4ymBrlIVrOngdw_.html
When I add a texture to a un-subdivided mesh like a plane the material looks fine how its supposed to look. Im trying to add materials and textures to one of those meshes from A.N.T landscape inside blender and when I try to add materials or textures to those it always looks horrible I was able to do it before but now for some reason it becomes a catastrophe when I add materials or textures to those landscape meshes.
How do you open that thing you added a modifier and then did something in materials and then something randomly opened and I can’t add the damn material anymore
I know it tells me what to do but I have been following what to do and can’t get the subdivision notifier thing up, I got subdivision set but can’t get to the point where you do the shadd smooth thing and stuff
This kind of short guides are golden when learning 3d from scratch
I'm using blender for a year and it's golden for me
@@abdullaishfaq3166 same haha
Yup!
bro why wont it work

Very true. Other videos I see, they breath heavily, make lame jokes and weird noises with their mouths

I'm amazed at the number of people making tutorials that complain about how long it takes to wire up PBRs.
I've been using Blender for 2 years and have just found out about this today, can't believe I've never tried it. Thanks!
LOL ........ you make it look so easy ...... thanks Jan
Jan is so helpful. Punchy bite sized useful info, absolute gold
watching this channel daily has become my routine and is a big help, thanks!
The best shorts Chanel ever, thanks for your work
Thank you for the best brick video anywhere!
thanks alot. helped af. nothing is better than this tutorial !!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
Wow that looks amazing!!
Holy alot of new features that i didn't know of. Thanks!!
Short may be ruining my attention span but at least the video gets to the point and I learned a new thing.
U have gave me a great solution bro thanks!
so simple! thank you. Subbed!
I'm still stubbornly trying to use procedural textures for stuff like such bricks. It's actually looking good to some extent... to some extent.

woah! Instant subscription, because so need this
thanks a lot! i was so mad by setting each of them up XD
Wow, looks great
thankuuuuuu. u are a time saver
learned something, thanks!
WTF, this is going to save so much time.
Oh my god this nice thank u bro❤
I couldn’t figure out why it was only bump mapping, not displacing! Thanks! What’s in cycles experimental?
it makes things less detailed the further away you are from it
Amazing short video
it worked but had to figure out how to scale it to look good on my plane ground with sand pbr, thanks
Awesome ..
Thank you thank you!
Thank you ...🍻
Не сразу понял Но Разобрался !!!! Дико круто , Спасибо !
WOW! OMG! THANKS!
Thank you sir
Short and sweet 5 stars.
This is something important that I will not use (the displacement map on shader editor) because I cannot produce something using cycles with my laptop :(
And get ready to wait a week for that displacement to render. (That is if blender doesn't crash first).
Can you do a fracture modifier without splinters
thanks bro
Tysm
Annoying that it doesn't take the ao map though. Thanks for making these!
Great!
super!
Is there a way to make the renderer bumb a real geometry?

I don't know how to scale down for this.

Has it changed in new version of blender? displacement and bump
Is there any documentation about the recommended file naming conventions for using texture maps in Blender?
I’d just have a look at one of the Texturehaven.com examples and follow that. But I’ve used maps with slightly different naming conventions and usually Blender knows what to do with it.
Хотя я и знал об этом но у тебя крутые уроки
shift ctrl t is not working and i dont know why i have bad version or what
When I apply the subdivision modifier my displacement dissapears again, why??
The main pain, is the UV.
use smart uv project
I don't know why but it didn't work for me. and for 2 hours i struggled. then afther i added the displace modifier and import the displacement image and it worked.
It shows that no matching image found
displacement isn't working :/ (i used materialize to make a grass texture, I hope anyone can tell me why it doesnt work )
Where can i find out more? I cant do this from this video. idk what to google as well, im looking to add a 3d texture from an image to a face
Check this one th-cam.com/video/rUh2cEWAIgk/w-d-xo.html
Can I transform a Mesh into Texture to have a structure with less polygons but similar appearance?
Like capturing as a Normal Map, I don't know the process but it would help in my unity project.

2 years later and still adaptive subdivision is in cycle experimental
is it possible to add displacement in Eevee ?
idk what im doing wrong but mine never displaces, it just puts the image on the sphere with no height displacement
every time i click ctrl+shift+ t nothing happens, whats going on, is there a way to fix it?
I did as you said but it's not connected I don't know why
İs it possible to textureize without uv unwrap
How do you open that thing you added a modifier and then did something in materials and then something randomly opened and I can’t add the damn material anymore
Whenever I try to render the scene with displacement it is giving error GPU out of host memory
Cok iyi
I know it tells me what to do but I have been following what to do and can’t get the subdivision notifier thing up, I got subdivision set but can’t get to the point where you do the shadd smooth thing and stuff
It dissappears when ctrl+2
Could someone help me I can't seem to use the nodes
Does this affect the poly count?
My question is how can we create our own pbr shaders
use materialize
so how to turn into the mesh ??? i'ts still sphere mesh ??
Hey, I'm not sure what you mean?
I don't know why it's not working for me, I used this exact tutorial but all my textures look like dogfood.
