So we are back on the OG Halloween Timeline and this is my first time watching. This is HALLOWEEN 3: SEASON OF THE WITCH. Hospital emergency room Dr. Daniel "Dan" Challis (Tom Atkins) and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin), the daughter of a murder victim, uncover a terrible plot by small-town mask maker Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy), a madman who's planning a Halloween mass murder utilizing an ancient Celtic ritual. The ritual involves a boulder stolen from Stonehenge, the use of Silver Shamrock masks and a triggering device contained in a television commercial -- all designed to kill millions of children. This reminded me of huge Twilight Zone movie the story was spooky and eerie I loved it actually I know a lot of people don’t like but for me I enjoyed it it felt super Halloween for me and the robots and factory was insane especially bringing in the Stone Hinge

I worked at Shamrock Industries in the 70s, up until that eventful Halloween night in 1978. Even though I didn’t fully understand what we were doing, I am ashamed to this day of what was being undertaken. I am grateful that it only made its one through one network channel. Thousands of children lost their lives that night in a gruesome way. But it could 0:40 have been millions had it been fully broadcast over all of the major networks. May God forgive us for what we did.

Criminally underrated film, mostly due to it being tied to the Halloween series when it functions more as a stand-alone movie. Also the origin of German power metal icons Helloween’s intro music.

33:12 - Ellie was always a robot. The old man at the start never said he had a daughter. She just showed up at the hospital and said she was his daughter. She was physically the type that Dan Challis would have gone for. Cochran knew he'd take the bait. It was all to see what the doctor knew, if the old man told him anything. She lured him to that town

Love this movie. It's well shot, has an amazing synth score that screams vintage John Carpenter, and the story is just great. Tom Atkins is straight up the man in this flick.
I would love to see more anthology type films like this in the future for the Halloween series instead of yet another Michael Myers flick.
I highly recommend watching Night of the Creeps if you ever get the chance. Tom Atkins is a badass in that one too.

I will say that they had bad marketing but John carpenter originally intended for the Halloween series to be an anthology series with the first two focusing on Michael myers with all the movies being in the same cinematic universe. When you think about it, it's really not that weird. At the time there was Friday the 13th & Nightmare on Elm Street franchise with the same premise & they really did want to do something different, something new & not repeat the same formula with Halloween.
They tried, it sadly didn't do well because people got confused, they hated it & demanded Michael Myers back, they still wanted the same formula.
This is almost the same with Friday the 13th part 5 & Spiral: The Book of Saw, they wanted to do something different in the same old premise, but people didn't want to accept it, they wanted the original back.
But If you ignore the Halloween connection, this is actually a really great underrated 80's horror gem. This movie would have done so much better back in the day If it had been its own movie.
If they had started the anthology idea without the Halloween name & connection, it would have been accepted much more by the audience & it could have been its own classic franchise.

I thought this was a pretty good movie though..it was interesting even though Michael Myers wasn't it in. I think the jump scares were nice..with the high pitched sound effects at the sametime with the jump scares..they did a good job with that. I remember when I first saw this 1 and near the end with him and the girl driving in the car..I noticed that the girl wasn't saying Much after all they been through 😶🤔I thought that was spooky as I said 2 myself "..bro something don't seem right why wasn't she saying anything in the car". And then out of Nowhere she starts 2 grab on the main guy while driving that jump scare got me, I was like Knew something was wrong with her. That was 1 of the good parts 2 me in that movie

I also did a fan edit of this movie where I removed the one Michael Myers reference and changed the title from Halloween II: Season of the Witch to just "Season of the Witch" so there's 0 connection to the rest of the franchise and I think it's much better for it.

Fun fact that’s the same hospital that they shot Halloween II in. But yeah Halloween III season of the witch is a very underrated film. Unfortunately it got a lot of backlash when it first came out because Michael Myers wasn’t in it. But the thing is they wanted to go in a different direction. Specifically, John Carpenter wanted to go in a different direction with the Halloween franchise he basically wanted to do like an anthology series based around the holiday of Halloween. I mean the ideas that they have in this movie are all well and good. But unfortunately that’s not what people want. People wanted to see the same old stuff over and over again like all the Michael Myers shit. I mean yeah it’s true. Sometimes people in this world just wants the same old stuff and no original ideas. People were just being assholes back then like they weren’t even willing to really give it a chance and really just sit down and analyze the film. People were just butt hurt, because Michael Myers wasn’t in it. But no, it’s a really good story about the horrors of consumerism and witchcraft. And also another fun fact, one of the henchmen that Dr. Chalice gets into a fight with like the scene where he punches the henchmen in the stomach, and this gross orange stuff comes oozing out of its mouth that orange stuff was actually frozen orange juice. But the actor that played that Hinchman was the same actor that played Michael Myers in Halloween II his name was Dick Warlock.

I was around thirteen when this was released back then, and yes, it was released in the theaters, it did not do well at all. The general consensus among my friends and what I remember seeing on the television was that it was a decent movie, but people wanted Michael Myers, not a stand alone film. Even the trailers from back then, they didn't show Myers, but we thought it must have been a joke that Myers had to be in the movie. So once word got around, no Myers and what some would consider a very annoying song, the silver shamrock one, the movie garnered a very bad reputation. It's changed over the years, especially if people know going in what they're getting, it's a good movie, dated special effects, but still good.
Part four is where the storyline picks back up. Treat H3 as a side project and most will enjoy it.

Also that was Jamie Lee Curtis as the curfew operator and the operator also. The hotel scene , when they arrived. Was similar to the Hotel scene in Alfred Hitchcock Brilliantly Psycho. When they checked the log books, sorta like a homage. And Dick Warlock, who played Micheal Myers, was one of the Android thugs. And Tommy Lee Wallace as the Announcer, it's almost time kid's. John Carpenter and Debbie Hill are crazy as hell , love it 😄. Also John Carpenter Stephen King Cujo Christine and Creepshow and the Dead Zone, Children of the Corn 🌽 with Linda Hamilton from the Terminator. Drew Barrymore Stephen King Firestarter. Stephen King Cat's Eye 👁️👀. Stephen King Silver Bullet. Stephen King Maximum Overdrive and Wes Craven People under the stairs. 1983 Twilight Zone the Movie with Dan Aykroyd intro outro. 1983 Nightmare's with Emilio Eztevez Charlie Sheen Bro, The Bishop of Battle, ,1982 The Beast Within. Bloody Birthday 🎈🎂, Basket Case. The Howling, Hell Night with Linda Blair. 1979 Tourist Trap. 1980 Terror Train 🚃🚂 Jamie Lee Curtis.

Here's the truth about how an why this movie is called Halloween 3 season of the Witch. On the Shout/Scream Factory Collector's Edition of Halloween 3 season of the Witch. On the audio commentary for the movie with Tommy Lee Wallace. The director an one of the writers of the movie.
He says the original name of the movie was Season of the Witch. It was written to be its own separate movie from the start. It was supposed to be a stand alone movie called Season of the Witch. It was not supposed to be a part of any movie franchise.
Here's where the Halloween 3 part comes in. The movie studio got a script or screenplay called Season of the Witch. They read it an seen it had nothing to do with Michael Myers or the previous movies in any way shape or form. Then the movie studio approved the movie but then they told John Carpenter. That the movie studio would not fund a movie called Season of the Witch in any way shape or form. That if they wanted the movie studio to fund the movie they would have to call it. Halloween 3 no Halloween 3 in the name or title then no funding an no movie whatsoever.
So basically John Carpenter an Tommy Lee Wallace had no choice but to. Reluctantly agree to call the movie Halloween 3 because it was the only way the movie studio would fund the movie. So basically they where black mailed if you will the movie studio point blank said no Halloween 3 in the name or title. Then your not going to be able to make your movie.
But if it was up to John Carpenter an Tommy Lee Wallace. The movie would of been made under an advertised as an released under the movies original name Season of the Witch.
Because John Carpenter never planned to or wanted to make a movie franchise. He wanted to do a anthology kind of thing from the start. Every movie would have a different name an different antagonist an different story. One every year on or on October it would be all different story about different things happening on Halloween.
It would work like this first movie Halloween with Michael Myers. One an done you never see or hear of Michael Myers ever again. The next movie lets says Season of the Witch with this movies antagonist an story. Then you never hear of it again then for example Night of the Vampire about a vampire. Then you never see or hear of it again. Like John Carpenter did with the movies The Thing an Prince of Darkness an the other movie or movies. They are called John Carpenters apocalyptic Trilogy or something. The movies that took place on Halloween would fallow the same format. Different names different antagonist an different story. But they would be about different things happening on Halloween. Instead of the possible end of the world like his apocalyptic trilogy.
But that idea was killed by movie studio interference. On two different audio commentaries for John Carpenter's original Halloween. One on the Blu-ray of the movie an the other on the Shout/Scream Factory Collector's Edition of Halloween. He talks about how after he was done with the original Halloween movie. He looked at the Michael Myers mask an said Im never going to need this again. Then he just tossed it under the bed an completely forgot about it. The then a like a year later the movie studio called him an said we the movie studio. Are going to make Halloween 2 an its going to be about Michael Myers. We will make this movie with or without you but remember you are still under contract with us.
So his then girlfriend Debra Hill who he made the first movie with said. They have you on the contract thing an the movie will be made regardless. So we might as well just do it at least we will get paid for it. Because we didn't get paid for the first movie. So that's the only reason that John Carpenter worked on Halloween 2. Then John Carpenter went O crap where did I put the Michael Myers mask. Because he never wanted to make a nother movie with Michael Myers ever again. So he didn't care where it was till he was forced to remember he had it somewhere. But the movie studio interfered an made Halloween 2 about Michael Myers regardless of John Carpenter's feelings or thoughts on it whore.
He also hated every single minute of it an past of every single thing he could onto others. Case in point he wanted Tommy Lee Wallace who directed this movie to directed Halloween 2. He turned it down because it was about Michael Myers. Basically everyone that made the first Halloween movie behind the scenes was done with Michael Myers. After the first movie but the movie studio interfered an made Halloween 2 about Michael Myers. Like how the movie studio interfered an said no Halloween 3 in the movies name or title then no funding an no movie whatsoever. Even though the movies name was Season of the Witch an it clearly had nothing to do with Michael Myers or the previous Halloween movies. Because the movie studio was obsessed with Michael Myers an the Halloween movie name. That even if it had nothing to do with those movies they still would force the. Halloween name on it an make it apart of that movie franchise. Like they did with this movie then again after this movie. The movie studio went to John Carpenter again. We the movie studio are going to make Halloween 4 an we the movie studio are going to bring back Michael Myers. Basically telling what the writers to writer it was their way or theres the door don't let it hit you on your way out.
That's why after this movie John Carpenter sold his shares in the Halloween movie franchise an walked away from it. Never to return until Halloween 2018.

About Amityville 2 The Demon, lot of people say that that a Exorcist, Rip-off. Disagree, spoiler, while the second act. Partial resemblance to The Excellent ,1973 Linda Blair, Exorcist. For as the new one nope lol like the original. But what Amityville 2 The Possession Definitely, does, is touch loosely on the Defaos. Now not using the Defeos name, or the killings exactly like they were killed. It out does, The original in Spades. And Amityville 3 The Demon, has it moments too, Candy Clark, Meg Ryan and, Lori Loughlin. But Amityville 2 The Possession Definitely is a Horrifying Supernatural Beast. And Rockys Pauly Burt Young, as the Father, well watch it you see Lol 😉😆. Father of the Year. Hell no 😔👎. But for the Amityville House, it's lives up to it's namesake title. And The Last American Virgin, Diane Franklin ❤❤❤. Yes it was at the Theater, October,22 1982. The theater 🎭 was right down the street from me , not there now, but , in 1982 was nine years old. And the Marquee was Halloween 3. Also the VHS 📼 video box always creeped me out.
