Fun fact : The scene where Julius is punching Jason was real…Kane Hodder wanted to make sure that the punches looked believable so he let the actor actually punch him.
@@Sebastian04223 yeah, Kane is always adamant about his performances in movies he’s in so he likes to make sure that he performs most of his stunts and do them as authentically as possible. He likes being real with his fans. That’s why all of the Friday the 13th films he is in he is doing mostly his own stunts. He is a stunt man and actor so he enjoys both jobs :)
well yes and no.... there were some where an actual boxer was hitting him but in the closer shots where Julius was punching him, it was really him and according to Kane, Julius hit a whole lot harder than the boxer did :D
Even though Jason still kills Julius I believe he earned Jason's respect because he was willing to stand there and be a punching bag for him. Even though we know that Jason is not feeling any of those punches he stood there and let Julius beat on him. Jason probably admired his courage or was shocked of the fact that Julius wanted to fight one on one. After he was worn out and had nothing left Jason: "all right it was a valid effort and you went down swinging but I'm going to finish you off now". I think a part of Jason actually enjoyed the boxing match it was a experience for him.
Another cool fact : the scene where Jason throws the big man in the diner. That big man is Ken Kirzinger (Hopefully I spelled that last name right) who played Jason in Freddy Vs Jason. So, you can say , Jason threw Jason into glass haha
@@darkmarv8045 now, that I never knew! that’s awesome but really strange given the height difference between the two. That is sooo cool. See, it’s nice what you find out in the comment section of a video. And of course, with kindness and respect.
@@KillaKindness Two scenes in particular, the first scene of Ken as Jason happens after Rennie and Shaun stop the subway car with Jason in pursuit. Jason falls down in the subway car while the pair escapes out of the emergency door. When Jason collects himself and follows the two lovers out of the door, he is tackled by Shaun and hits the electrical current on the car track. There is a bit of a difference in Jason's stance, which makes it noticeable that Kane is not underneath the mask. The other scene when kirzinger played Jason is when Rennie and the others are in the Irish cop’s car and Jason is standing in front of the car. So Rennie then drives the cop car directly into the Jason and he falls to the ground. It's a pretty cool stunt and again, It is very noticeable the way Jason is standing that Kane Hodder is not underneath the mask.
Good ole Paramount being a bunch of cheapskates as usual. I loved what Rob Hedden had in mind for Jason in NYC before he was given practically zero budget to make the film.
fun fact: that huge guy at the diner that Jason casually threw around like a ragdoll into that mirror was actually the same actor who played Jason in Freddy vs Jason
When Jason choked that girl & threw her body to the ground, I believe it was actually the actress, Kelly Hu, that he threw & not a dummy/mannequin or stunt double. Which is wild af bcuz she hit that floor HARD AF *pauz* 😂😅
That is the absolute worst (in a good way) stage we've seen of Jason's face. That was absolutely disgusting... terrifying... vomit-inducing. If I saw something like that in real life, I'd beg to die. I could not bear to live with that visual playing on a loop in head.
The lava rock kill was a last-minute change. I saw pictures in an old Fangoria magazine in 1989 of that same boxer dead with a dart rammed into his eyeball
Same. Fangoria was the best next to Starlog when it came to horror and sci-fi news pre-internet. Fangoria is surprisingly still being published but Starlog sadly shut down years ago.
That wasn't really Jason. Rennie just freaked out when she was in the water drowning as a child. Jason drowned as a boy in 1957 there's no way Rennie is the same age
No shade to the actress but Renee really wasn’t the best final girl. Two other girls I wish didn’t get killed off so quickly. Like J.J.(the rocker) and Eva(the Asian girl). Fun fact: the actress that played Eva was Kelly Hu. Best known for certain roles like Lady Deathstrike in X2. And weird when you think about since the actress is bit of a bad ass. Also, they did not give a shit about the female teacher. That wasn’t even on Jason, and it was really Renee’s fault. They didn’t even think about her until the last second right before the car exploded
My graduation trip was Waterpark n hotel my senior year. 😂thou our principal then was me n brother n best buds chaperone. 1997. This point was loving horror movies especially jason voorhees.
And, I understood, thanks, and when I first saw it, I was confused, now it’s clear that there were even hints of the film’s campaign for it, now the picture is folding.
The MPAA really got in the way of this movie. Some of the deaths were supposed to be a lot better. They had some really good ideas when he finally arrived in New York, but the budget was cut which is why he doesn’t “take Manhattan“ until third act.
Him 'turning into a little boy' never happened lol. She was the only one who could see little boy non deformed Jason and that ending, the little boy wasn't really there. Jason had been taken away by the toxic waste. The director explained.
Ohh, I understood, thanks, and when I first saw it, I was confused, now it’s clear that there were even hints of the film’s campaign for it, now the picture is folding.
Neat just to say the film Jason goes to Hell takes place after Freddy Dead Final Nightmare, are you planning to react to Nightmare Elm Street 4, 5, 6 leading to Jason goes to Hell?
My joke was always that Jason was a fan of Miss Teen Wyoming USA 1985 (the eventual 1st runner up) & pissed off that Kelly Hu (who played Eva) won Miss Teen USA 1985 and that's why he choked her to death!
This movie gets a lot of crap from fans because of the misleading title of Jason Take Manhattan which is understandable. That being said, the original idea was for Jason to go to numerous famous NYC locations like Madison Square Garden, the Statue of Liberty, and even the WTC at one point. However, as much as Paramount liked those ideas, they sure as hell weren't going to cough up the money needed to bring it all to life and that's why we get Jason Takes a Cruise Ship and Vancouver. We literally get ONE shot of Jason in NYC for that Times Square shot. That's all Paramount would allow. I still like this movie though for the fact it was doing something different but not too different like what Jason Goes to Hell does later. This one, The Final Chapter, and Jason Lives are my favorites of the series.
Part 8 is way too overhated. It doesn't crap on the lore (like part 9). It actually has Jason in it (unlike part 5). It does something new and its entertaining.
If I’m not mistaken, I think that the 2nd kill that was ultra slow mo in this was the 2nd time in the franchise lol. The 1st being in part 2 when he slowly walked up to ole girl w/ the kitchen knife 😅
I never understood the look of Jason in this movie compared to part 7 and 6. How'd he go from looking very zombie-like and skeletal to having flesh and looking slimy🤨
Also the 2009 remake is one of my favorites along with 6. YOU HAVE TO DO THE REMAKE. It kind of gives better explanation to everything about Jason and makes it more realistic and scarier than before. I do prefer the remake to alot of the older movies. Idk, it just has that classic vibe to it mixed with modern day.
Definitely excited to watch y’all’s reaction but I’m very surprised that Fireworks said it’s one of his favorites. From what I’ve seen, this one has a smaller fanbase with most people ranking this one in the lower end. It’s still disappointing to me that they are in “Manhattan” for like 15 mins. Especially bcuz o think this is one of the longer F13 movies lol
When is the last time you watched the 2009 remake? I love that one but I know that people don’t like it. There are also people who didn’t like it on the 1st watch but upon a rewatch, they ended up liking/appreciating it more. I just feel like you gotta react to it to fully fulfill the F13 franchise lol. Of course, that is totally up to you & I respect whatever your decision ends up being. I’m probably just being selfish by wanting a reaction bcuz it happens to be one of my favs 😬 Anywayzzz this was a great reaction (they always are), even tho this is FAR from a fav movie of mine & one of the ones I rewatch the least lol Sending love & positivity to y’all both!!!
I’ve watched it recently I have an issue with how it was made and how the story was done on top of that from the very start Jason isn’t supernatural and idk how people can like that realistic Jason it made the Franchise soft the main reason we love Jason is because he’s a serial killer that’s indestructible lol so idk why people love real Jason he runs which is crap I hate all of that supernatural is the way to go for these characters
@@snoopersgonnasnoop yeah I hear ya lol. I definitely prefer supernatural Jason too but I also liked the earlier Jason when he didn’t seem/wasn’t supernatural. I enjoyed the kills & how brutal he was in the remake too & the entire opening prior to the title card was such a fun watch for me. I can definitely understand the issues people have with it tho, so I respect your opinion 👍
That wasn't water he drowned that teacher in... 🤣🤣🤣 that was some good ole fashioned toxic waste. Just imagine if he Jason HADN'T drowned his sorry @$$... he would've truly suffered something godawful, like maybe his face peeling off, or boiling. The problem with this movie is that it's very lazy writing. Jason teleports with no explanation. The teen at the start for no reason at all has a hockey mask conveniently left for Jason. Nobody attempted to take Jason's body out of the lake? Crystal Lake leads to New York City now?
