I hope you all are having a great day today. Here's a part 2 of a Mario 64 Comparison video i've made a while back. I wasn't planning on making another one of these since the HD fan remake was cancelled, but a new part of Mario HD is now playable and I want to give the game another go. Hope you guys enjoy, and let me know what other videos you would like to see.

The HD one for me just looks ugly in a way I can't place. I love the DS one because it looks like the original but with better graphics. The original definitely feels the most nostalgic, so for me it's either the original or the DS remake :)
Mukti Zulfiqar Prabowo play on a emulator lol. I don't think there is a way to change the resolution on the DS, but I'm not sure as I haven't played it in a year.
Well, The best way to run DS games is either through one of the builds of Desmume or the Custom Desmume X432R, running this game at 1024 x 768 is way better than the low resolution of 256 x 192.

The new Super Mario 64 DS HD looks great. It's interesting how they use 3 screens to let you explore 3 different Mario 64 universes at once. In all seriousness, I've only ever played the N64 version.

I am still astounded... why do these remakes have these gorgeous beautiful graphics, character models, textures, etc. that must have taken thousands of hours, yet no one can figure out how to program a damn door to open?
This happens by so many people who TRY to remake Mario 64 and Zelda Oot/MM
“Sure let me spend all this time to recreate all these levels and models, but we won’t have functioning doors and animations that take less effort than anything else I’ve done.”
They are usually these giant beautiful worlds that are fun to run around in for all of a minute until you realize: Nothing works. Dialogue is not there. There’s no measure of health, coins, etc. There’s no action scripts. A lot of times enemies aren’t even programmed or missing completely.
All of that is forgivable, except for this: These “game designers” finish 90 percent of a level, but instead of finishing the last 10 percent to actually make it work? They just go on and start another level instead of finishing. Which would be fine if it was just for fun, but what happens instead? They go on TH-cam, post “I just remade Super Mario 64 in Unreal!” But really when you download it, it’s just a single broken level and a waste of time.
I’ll pay the original retail price ten times over if someone actually remakes Super Mario 64 in Unreal or HD and releases it for download (not to mention proof it’s not just some prerendered non-scripted video). That being said, as close as one user seems to actually programming it and not just dumping a bunch of character models into a downloadable environment, I wouldn’t hold my breath (and it’s already been a decade since people have been trying on different engines)

And what's up with the fan made version? I don't know if it's just me, but it doesn't feel like a Mario game to me.

It doesn't have the same amount of polish and thought put into it that Nintendo usually gives. It is fan-made after all, and not from a big professional company. (As far as I know.)
They seem to want it looking nice rather than have it be thematically correct, as well, so some of the colors and textures don't really fit the whole "Mario" look.
That being said, it's still pretty nice. Just off.
It is still in development after all, so guess I can't say much, but I feel like the player model was taken from super Mario galaxy and it doesn't fit with the backgrounds, I don't mind games looking nice rather than being exact. It's just my opinion really.
Yeah, fair enough. And, I also kind of meant that only *some* of the textures/colors don't match, so it clashes a lot more with the stuff that looks alright.
The fact that it seems to be "looking nice over looking right" might just be because it's still in development, too. So, the whole "looking right" thing could probably be fixed pretty easily.

Not an expert on graphics and what not, but how I would personally describe it, the best way I can...
The original N64 graphics look more smoother and more polygonal. The 64DS version has better textures but it can look at times too pixelated, especially the edges of the trees and background, which can hurt my eyes. The HD fan remake (assuming it was built on Unreal Engine) looks, IDK how to describe it, but "plasticky", like Mario and the environment look like toys.
Overall, I like the 64DS graphics better. It still looks good, even after 15 years.
loll it looks like galaxy Mario was ripped out of his world and stick into 64. Nice job though looks really awesome I wish we can get a remake of it for real.

What emulator are you using for the DS? Even it you play it on an actual DS Lite it looks WAY better than whatever method your using for this game, the colors are so weak, and odd too haha
