Infatuation is only an illusion you created about this person but once he/she wasn't the one you hope them to be, you get disappointed.

So beautiful, I completely relate to this. We were eventually forced apart by life circumstances - too much forced distance + at different life stages / ages and needing to live in different places where we were each happy, but there was no deeper truer stronger love than what we once had. We still love each other the same but there is nothing left to say because there is no future and it doesn't change the facts now.

A patient in hospital told me that he bumped into a girl when he went rollerskating, on leave from the navy. They talked all night after that and he walked her home afterwards. He said a 15 minute walk took 2 hours because they talked so much and that night, the same night they met, she suggested they should marry. He told me they got married within the year. This isn't the only story I have heard from patients like this. Sometimes you know straight away that you have stumbled on a good thing and you don't want to lose them. Sometimes you just need to go for it. Or perhaps older people didn't feel the need to try out countless people until they found the perfect one, perhaps they were just content with a nice person?

You can't possibly know for sure what to do. There will always be some gambling involved (e.g. 50% divorce rate) -- get used to it. In any case, "love at first sight" is as good as any other relationship strategy. This is because, as I've mentioned, gambling is involved regardless of the conditions.

There’s nothing wrong with getting advice from your parents. It shows how much they care about you. For me, My dad says trust but verify. It’s ok to trust others but make sure to think about the things they tell you and see if it all makes sense and is actually true. Honestly, I’m basically the same. I never had to go through relationship heartbreak because of my dads advice. But not gonna lie here. It sucks when you realize how long you been waiting for the right person to come along and you realize that a good chunk of people around you are really just liars. Anyway, I rather be alone than with bad company.

As long as you don't let it take a negative toll on your life, or let yourself give ALL of you're trust and dedication to them (since you'll never know if they're gonna break your heart), its normal and healthy to have feelings for others.

It's 100% not a choice. It's simply a chemical reaction in the brain when certain conditions are met, nothing more nothing less. Telling someone to not fall in love too quickly is like giving someone heroin and telling them to feel sober. When I start to catch feelings I run.
I used to think that too, but there is a lot we do that is in fact intentional. Like daydreaming about a person when you could be doing your work, studies, etc. we actually have more control of that emotion than you think.

I actually met my partner on a bus. We fell in love on a 7 minute bus ride. We became officially "together" three days after we first met. We've been together 2yrs and 4 months now and it's going strong. Maybe we're the odd ones out, I don't know. We've still got a lot to learn about each other but it seems to be going in the right direction. I watched this video coz I wanted to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I feel like this video is aimed at someone like me. I'm really glad I watched it, as it's reminded me to take things at my own pace. But I definitely feel like this could be it. Sometimes it takes a few months or even years to realize that you're not in the right place, or that you yourself are missing something and filling that hole with someone else. I disagree with this. Everyone loves at different speeds, some are more open whilst others are more reserved. To each one of us, love represents something unique. With each person you meet, your love will be different. With each love comes lessons. Some loves last longer than others. But my main advice is be true to how you feel, stop controlling it. What you can control though, are the actions you take.

Whilst I appreciate the intention of this video, but am AMAZED at the generalisations and separation consciousness being shared so freely by someone people seemingly look to for guidance. We are nearing the end of 2020, higher spiritual pathways are opening gateways to deep healing and all this video can do is bash up the shadows? Maybe the dating culture of the West has created the need for such a message but I’m still appalled at the way this video is giving a leading statement, making people believe that somehow they right person’ won’t hurt them or make them feel insecure’. True relationships don’t just bring out the best but sometimes the worst fears of the people involved and that’s where lovers can find a safe space to heal themselves and grow together. I fell in love real quick, it’s as if we had known each other forever, we had a deep connection and chemistry and after many highs and lows, the love has only grown stronger in all of these seven years. Sometimes ‘good guys’ and ‘committed partners’ can flip after years together, leaving the other wondering what happened. I’m saying, you can never be too sure of a person and love is always a risk. Always. That said, it’s not only upto people to try and make the right choices but also build a robust relationship with their own selves that nothing and no one can threaten. That’s true commitment :)

Also there is difference between falling in love and loving. You love someone whom you know and love them for who they are but to fall in love with someone is different. If you fall in love with someone it is mostly beacause of how they look. And if you fall in love with your friend well that isnt falling in love I would say but you actually love them. I too had a friend who I knew for a few years and loved her because of who she was. It is hard but you should trust your head and love those who you know.

I learned this the hard way, multiple times. The thing is, when we develop a strong connection with someone we become obsessed. We put them on pedestals and imagine them as divine, perfect beings. We become So overwhelmed with the desire to connect to them that we fail to realize the destruction, and inevitable failure we are setting ourselves up for. This is especially true the lonelier we are. Be careful we say, take it slow we say, and yet no matter our strength of will we give in to the impulsive, needy childlike ego until eventually we are forced to detach entirely and kill that part of us that so longed for the spiritual infusion. And thus we kill a part of our own soul and are left with a damaged future. There is no person I know or have ever met that is worse at this bad habit than me.

This one hit me deep because I liked a guy for so long that I had convinced myself that I had *fallen in love with him* . Everything I said my mind linked to him, everything I felt linked to him and everything I see links to him and even now every choice I made revolved around him, but I don't want it too. I met him halfway through last year and I liked him from the beginning but it was scary for be because I had never felt this way about anyone else before and even though I knew deep down that it would end in heartbreak, I still went for it. And so fate would have it he started dating one of my childhood BFFs and that feeling was the feeling I tried my entire life to avoid, my entire life to never utter the words "make the pain stop!" I cried to my closest friend over the phone before I fell to my pillow and silently cried myself to sleep. The worst part is not that he broke me but that I still fall to quickly even to this day. I try not to like-like anyone but I can't help that whomever makes me feel like the only person in the universe that matters I fall for.
So to all the people out there watching the video and reading my comment, I hope that you find love and if it doesn't work you still believe in love because without love there is no hope and without hope there is no chance of being human and that is what we should all strive to be. So be human and feel and it may hurt but it will make you stronger than you ever knew you could be. Rachel Dannheisser I totally relate. Once I ‘fall in love’, anything the person does is a sign they love me. Asks me for a pencil? Meant to be. Stares at me for .3 seconds? Lovebirds. It breaks me when they find someone, but never have I said anything to them. I know I’m ugly, they’ll reject me, but the pain of seeing them with someone else after convincing myself they loved me hurts.
