►2020 Bigfoot 10.4 Truck Camper - We got our 2020 Bigfoot 10.4 Truck Camper in October 2021. We were contacted by a couple of subscribers (now good friends) who had theirs up for sale in Upstate New York so we headed out on an adventure. We sold our 2014 Bigfoot 10.4 within one day of listing it online.
►2014 Bigfoot 10.4 Truck Camper - We got our 2014 Bigfoot 10.4 in August 2021 from RVOne near Charlotte, NC. Todd was headed to buy a brand new Bigfoot 10.4 just before we got the Lance 975 but when he got to Southland RV, it was sold. That's when we decided to go to the Lance 975. We knew at some point in the future we'd have a Bigfoot again and here it is.
►2021 Lance 975 - We got our new 2021 Lance 975 from Chattanooga Fish n Fun in Hixson, TN in August 2020. After looking at several models, we decided on the Lance 975 (Check out Brad's channel from Chattanooga Fish n Fun, he gives great, thorough overviews of some really nice boats and campers.) We sold the Lance 975 in August 2021.
►2019 Northern Lite 10-2 Truck Camper - Bought and delivered from Mountain Motors in Troy, MO on 12/2019 and sold it in 01/2020.
►2005 Northern Lite 10-2 Truck Camper - Picked up on 8/10/2019 we did major repairs, maintenance and renovations to this one and sold it in 12/2019.
2008 Bigfoot 21RB - Sold 12/2019, we went across country to purchase from a dealer in Pueblo Colorado.
►2006 Casita Spirit Deluxe - Sold 07/2018 when we bought our Bigfoot.
►2002 A-liner - Sold 05/2017 when bought our 2006 Casita Spirit Deluxe.
As a truck driver 45 years a true diesel is in line 6 you got the best one on the market and proud for you

Love the videos and your idea of that truck. I was looking at doing the same thing or either the sport chassis Freightliner. But my insurance companies tell me that it's capable of over 10,000 and they don't want to insure it. So did you have problems getting insurance on that 4,500?

Wonderful rig. Could you maybe do a video discussing how your tying the truck to the bed. I saw you have some kind of adapter that looks like they went into the 2 x 4 pockets of the flat bed.

Cummins is great, problem is today's govt emissions b.s.. Personally I would do the def delete kit and also today's ultra low sulfur diesel fuel is hard on the motor, not enough lubrication in it. Mine is the older 5.9 , I add marvel mystery oil toy fuel. You might want to check into those things for the 6.7. Justy opinion.

He just finished designing boxes for our Northern Lite 10.2 and we’re just waiting for them to begin production.
Hi Stephen, We have not talked with him about this. He's probably pretty busy right now :-) And, I am not sure of cost but we were trying to keep costs to a minimum.

Not sure if y’all are gonna see this comment or not but I was wondering: did your PJ flatbed have the wheel wells further forward than centerline of the wheels? I think I got hoodwinked by a shady installer while having mine put on a couple weeks ago. He said that “we have to go according to the factory mounting location in the back then weld brackets forward after that.” It’s bad. I mean, like 2.5” slid too far forward bad.
Does this truck come standard with the 270* camera system and upgraded to 360* camera with the tow camera addition?
It appears that there is an opportunity for camper mfgs to design models that utilize the extra space that flatbeds offer on the sides.
I like the skirted flatbed I wonder how long they can get I wanna put a 12 K generator in the back with my ATV and still have enough room for the fifth wheel I think they can go 15 feet

Hello. I have a 3500, thinking about moving to a 4500. Can you give me your thoughts on the detuned motor. Can you tell a difference in power and torque from the 3500? Any problems pulling into traffic getting up to speed with camper? Any info would be great. Thanks
Hey TODD.... Good job! I was afraid you might have left Cummins... I also thought the weight Police would steer you to a 5th Wheel or a trailer. I want to thank you for talking about a sway bar. With having a 1995 Dodge 3500 (2500 with a extra leaf) with air bags, stable loads, and a Helwig Sway bar (because Roadmaster doesn't make one for my Truck) I love my Bigfoot on a 12 valve... Would you all mind doing a video on the trailer towing setup for the new truck? I watched your previous video for the 3500, but I still had a few questions. I have a CM bed on my Ram and I’m curious where you plan to anchor your chains for the extension. Does you bed have a 2” or 2.5” receiver? Thank you, really enjoy the channel!
Hi Cody, I haven't used my extension hitch yet but I plan to. So I'm not sure how I'll anchor the chains tightly but I'll figure something out. My bed has a 2" hitch and I'm planning on having a second hitch welded on below so I can use my Supertruss that I have. Looking forward to getting it set up. Thanks for watching!
Very nice truck! Is the max payload before adding the bed around 8000lbs?
I saw the shipping weight on mine at 8200 pounds so that would leave 8300 pounds a payload. But if I fill the fuel tank 8000 pound payload probably be about right. Thanks for watching!
Nice truck and camper. Sounds like you got a really good deal! As a Ram man, glad you stayed with that. Not sure about the trucks, but the Hemi is going away next year. They are going with a twin turbo inline 6 like ford. Emissions.

I wasn't aware Ford was making a straight 6 TT. GM has the straight 6 diesel, but not a gasser. MB and BMW also make straight sides. Where did you get your info? Thanks.
How do you use it as a pickup truck when the camper is off? There aren't any sides or a tailgate to keep things from falling out.

I have been looking at the CM Flat bed arrangement from Stable Camper (very similar to your setup). Only issue is where does spare tire go if you travel remotely way up North or in Mexico? Can live without a spare in most areas of the U.S. but not in the places mentioned above. Spare does not look good hanging on a draw bar and causes departure angle issues. For this reason I have been looking at the Douglass Service Body but they are very expensive. If I could figure out the spare issue I would pull the trigger on a setup like this.
The spare tire is an issue. I need to work that out myself but I’ll probably only bring it when we travel but not worry about it around town.
It bugs me that the Ram Trucks dont come with a way lock your fuel cap.
For slightly more you could have had the 5500 and had more capacity, meaning your load is less strain for the truck. Why didn't y'all go this route?
I can only assume you got the high output engine with the Ace and transmission
Nope! I am trying to buy a new Ram Cummins now also and from what I can tell the high output Cummins is only available in the 3500 chassis. Not the 4500 or 5500. At least that's what all the salesman tell me and all my research tells me.
buisnesses want durability over power so 4500 and 5500 come with the regular cummins... interesingly enough i have heard that tuners prefer the low output engine because of the compressiion ratio being better than the HOs but thats somethign we will see in the future as far as cummins geekeroids blowin these engines to 2000 hp

Beautiful truck! I ordered a 2022 Ram 4500 SLT a couple weeks ago with 4.10 gears and a few added features. Do you know the gear ratio on yours?
My truck has the 4.10 gears in it. That’s what we had in our last truck and I was really happy with it. I can notice a slight difference due to the power and weight difference but not much. Do you know approximately how much you weigh max with your 4500? What kind of MPGs have you gotten so far? And what speed/RPMs do you usually run at? Sorry to bombard you with questions lol

I don’t have many Miles on it yet but I got about 14 MPGs on my way back from Florida. Mine with the flatbed on it, me in it and I full 52 gallon tank weighs 10,300 pounds. I was going about 75 miles an hour and I think I was around 2000 to 2200 RPMs if I remember correctly.

Love the new rig and the story behind it! Does Ram make you order higher numerical aspect axle ratios on the 4500 versus 3500 like Ford does? Up here in ohio guys run f350 dumps for better mpgs empty but mostly to stay under cdl requirements when they pull a #12k trailer. Thus they may overload tires and brakes to prevent cdl. Not safe.
So us a video sometime, putting the camper on the flatbed.

Hi Mike, That actually is a video topic I have thought about but haven't made that video yet. It's a long story but yes my insurance doubled and I had to find a insurance company that would cover a 1.5 ton truck as a personal vehicle. Insurance companies didn't like that very much. @@RunawayRoses also, what about the registration? I don’t know what state you’re in, but in mine they require a weight sticker for anything over 10k gvw. I run up to 35k, my registration is $1800 a year.
In Georgia we pay the vehicle tax up front so annually we just pay a $20 tag fee. I did have get a tag that says 18,000 lbs on it. It calls for a special tag for any truck over a 14K gvwr.
With all the mods to get the 4500 to accept the camper, why didn't you get a better and bigger camper? The 4500 chassis and Cummins would have pulled a much bigger rig; like a Lance, Host or Eagle which would have a dry bath, more closet space, bigger and better kitchen and 2, maybe 3, slides.
Bigfoot is a 4 season camper. The best 4 season camper.

Why did you go with a 4500 (16,500 gvwr) vice 5500 (gvwr 19,500)? Did you do the weight check like you did with the 3500? We are debating which one to get. If we go with 5500 then we know there should never have a weight problem. We like your video a lot!

Nice but my choice would have been the Chevy 5500 and a custom bed for the camper.
Have fun trying to get one. I have had one on order since April of last year. GM canceled my order in January and I have had to reorder the damn thing again. I am getting the runaround from GM saying because I ordered a crew cab and that they give fleet sales to big companies priority over a single truck purchase from a dealership. I am still trying not to give up though but this is getting so frustrating.
