We have a 2007 bigfoot 2500 9.6 that we bought new and we love it. The 30000 btu furnace keeps us warm even when it is-20 outside. Great campers. No problems at all.
We have a 2001 Bigfoot camper. Same size as yours. But our bathroom is by the back door. We have a storage closet by the kitchen. ( back door) Dry bath. We love it!!
Great tour of your rig. I really like that you stepped up to the bigger truck with the flatbed. And the layout of the 10.4 is fantastic. The thing I really like about it (and I'm sure you do is well) is the kitchen and dining areas are in the back and there are plenty of windows to see all around. Plus that huge skylight so it must be a real joy to be in there. The bathroom is perfect too. Have fun!
With the massive gaps under your camper, you could add a pair of magnetic lockers to hold tools or rain gear and tarps to hang off the back of the camper. I've seen Australian truck owners do this all the time. I envy them because they drive Land Rover pickups. Those are VERY capable when off road and they EASILY last as long as any Toyota. PS: nothing wrong with a Dodge product. I drove a Jeep Cherokee for over 12 years and it was very very reliable. I sold it because I ran into an unexpected issue: the 4.0 straight 6 wouldn't die. It was outlasting the components around it! The coolant pump wore out. Had to replace it. The hoses had to be replaced. The Mopar dealer warned me that this was a common problem with Jeeps from the very early 90s: they just don't die!
Thank you very much for sharing. Two ideas 1. A removal bed extension for Todd by the hallway. 2. A ceiling 12 V bulb that when on tells that the switch is on for the water heater. All the best enjoy GOD bless and keep. Sincerely Ben.
Wow! That's a great interior. So many truck campers' insides look like Grandma's house, but this one is contemporary and great looking! I'll give Bigfoot a look. Thanks.
Need a soft start for ac just takes the big surge out when it first fires up. Have you ever seen one with heat strips to make the ac a heater too. I’ve never heard if they are good or bad but there would be no heat in basement. I guess just for cooler weather a little heat would be fine if you plug in at a camp ground and you could set thermostat for furnace if it would get too cold .

Those reflective thermal pane windows are the cat's meow. We've sat in ours watching things outside when animals (or people) have no idea were right there. And they're noise dampening just like the fiberglass shell. Northern Lite has plastic windows, lol.
@@scallywag6768 I apologize, I did not know there were other options. I have never bought a Northern Lite mainly due to those small plastic windows. I'm in the market again and will take a closer look. Thanks.
@@bob_frazier Bigfoot and Northern Lite are both high quality comparable campers, both are manufactured in BC. What I like about the acrylic windows in the NL is that they are lighter than glass. They swing up to open, so the whole window is open allowing for better air exchange. Also they don't allow rain water to enter when open. This feature is important to me as I live on the coast of British Columbia and it rains often here. You guys are well-connected to the truck camper industry, so I’m going to give you a suggestion that could totally change the design of a bathroom by converting a wet bath to a dry one. One, remove the shower from the bathroom. Two, mold two fiberglass seats into the area where the dinette is now and mold fiberglass “lips” into the sides between the seats. Three, put all of you shower controls, including a flex hose, into a recess in the wall. Four, suspend a removable shower curtain from the ceiling. Five, the area could still be used as a dinette or a bed with a table top that would either sit between the seats or on a leg for eating. I’ve thought about this for quite some time and truly believe it’s a doable idea. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
I just watched this video... of the exact same camper as I have. When I bought mine in 2019 there weren't any good videos on the internet, now you made one. Saw you did the propane compartment mod. Mine did leak water inside. I'd like to have a Trump combi unit where the hot water heater is now, then it would be easier to modify dinette to maybe have recliners. Do you like the separate appliances and holes in the side of your camper?
Hi Dave C, I agree the Truma combi would be nice to have. Yes we are fine with the appliances, Carla uses the oven all the time when we camp. Thanks for watching!
stay away from the arctic fox. My 2016 AF 11' is completely falling apart and come to find out the customer service is as bad as the build quality. I am replacing the 1x2" pinewood framing with angle iron since the 4' that hang off the back of the bed are sagging badly. I replaced it with a 2021 Northern lite which I estimate is 1,500 lbs lighter. The slide on the AF makes the truck lean way to the right which is scary. The Bigfoot was my second choice but I like the floorplan in the N-L.
How's the skylight for heat from direct sun light? How many solar panels do you have and how many more could be placed on top, allowing for the fantastic fans, ac, fridge, and skylight? For us, it's between the Big Foot and Northern Lite, both are excellent! Thanks for giving a tour, I was leaning toward the 10-6 until I saw this one, I like the 10-4 set up better after seeing your video.
Hi Doodles, The skylight is fine with the heat if we pull the shade shut. We have one 190 watt solar panel on ours. Not sure how many could be put up there, at least two I would think. Thanks for Watching!
Thanks for the tour. Nice rig! Just got our ‘22 N-L 9-6 and getting it ready for a maiden voyage. Where did you find the soap dispenser in the shower and how did you hang it?
Hi Erin, Congrats on your NL 9-6! That's a great camper. Carla got the soap dispenser on Amazon and used the waterproof command stickers to hang it. Thanks for watching!
Toad & Carla can you tell me which is lowest bed height from the ground to the flat bed vs you old dully truck. Is one of them much lower than the other? I tryin to determine which has the lowest center of gravity. Flat bed or 3500 pickup bed? Best regards to you both.
Hi Patriot, Our Ram 4500 flatbed is 43” from the ground. Our last Ram 3500 dually bed height was 37” from the ground. The flatbed adds 6” off the frame rails. I found a Ram dually 3500 cab chassis to be somewhere in the middle. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

Just curious you didn't show it and I know it's in the back on the driver's side at least on my Lance it is but where do you hook up the hose to drain your tanks usually the storage is close to where you hook it up to to drain.
Love your video I was wondering does your a/c run all the time or does it turn on and off with the temperature change ours is a Coleman Mach and it cools our camper fast but is loud and runs all the time doesn’t cycle but it’s good for a starter camper
what mattress are you using? we loved your video of the froli system and ended up purchasing one for our arctic fox. we are considering buying a new mattress and want to buy a Casper, since that is what we have at home, but are unsure if the frolic will work with a memory foam style mattress?
Hi Jay, since you’ve watched our channel before, it won’t surprise you that we have a different camper than this Bigfoot now 🤣 The mattress in the Bigfoot was very firm but we never changed it out so it was the one that came with it. We now have a 2020 Lance 1172 that we just got and surprisingly the mattress that came with it coupled with the Froli is VERY comfy so I don’t think we’ll change it out. I’ve heard those Caspers are nice and would probably work well with the Froli. Thanks for watching! -Carla
Hi Carla and Todd, since you own 3 of the top brands in truck campers I have to ask you wich one do you feel is the roomiest? I am 6'4". Great videos 👍
The new 2024 Northern light has more head room in bedroom now more than Bigfoot. Also a wet bath give you more room in the shower & more height too. Dry bath have a step up into so less Northern light has a 80" bed full Queen too. Arctic Fox have plenty of head height but build quality is not as good as Bigfoot & Northern light are the only campers that are spit design like to boats together one upside down so no leaks & last longer & both are considered the best & 4season.
Hi Sean Stevenson, We needed a heavier duty truck with a higher payload which is why we got the Ram 4500 with a 16.5K payload. We got the skirted flatbed because it gives us extra storage. Thanks for watching!
I find that your rig setup is very nice and like the way y’all set it up. My wife and I are trying to move away from our van and looking to buy a 2020 RAM 3500 Tradesman Flatbed 4x4 and a Northern Lite truck camper. My question for you is how to get both of these insured? The truck is considered a Commercial Truck. Do you have any recommendations on how to get this truck insured?
Awesome set up. Curious to know what your thoughts on Arctic Fox campers are through your experiences and if you’ve ever considered one over the units you’ve had ?
Some Arctic Foxes are said to be good too. But Bigfoot and Kodiak are probably the best and most affordable. There is one which outstrips the rest but I forget the name. Insanely expensive so not available to most people.
Liked your mods to date. Would like to inquire however; don’t have and have been interested, watching many vids, but concerning your 2 30lb gas bottles, would you consider more bottles, secured to the steel bed since you have “that monster 300k btu heater” in some colder climates for extended travel or stay? Just that 2 that size seemed small for a heater that capable. Thank you sir.
Very nice. In your opinion does the Bigfoot have more storage than the Lance 975 that you had? Which camper weighs the most? Does the bigfoot have a walk on roof? Love the bigfoot. thanks for the walk through.
Hi mdv, We feel like the Bigfoot does have more storage than our Lance 975. The Lance was heavier. Yes the Bigfoot has a walk on roof but it's not as flat as the Lance. Thanks for watching!
Hi Ed Wilson, We love both the NL and Bigfoot. They each have their pluses and minuses. I feel like the Bigfoot campers are structurally built better but they are both great campers. Just my opinion for whatever that's worth. Thanks for watching!
That side awning is so high it won’t provide much protection from rain if windy. It should be mounted below dinette window if possible as the flatbed makes it even worse.
@@RunawayRoses thanks sir! Bet it gets close to mpgs of your last rig? I missed a handling of the camper on the new rig video as compared to the old one
Once getting on the roof of an RV years ago at a camper show and from owning several cargo trailers. The problem with the roofs on campers they literally have over 100 holes through the roof. Cargo trailers don't have all the holes through the roof. The best solution to repair roofs on cargo trailers and RV trailers is the aluminum and tar like tape they sell at Lowe's or Home Depot. I personally wouldn't buy that eterna Bond tape people talk about it doesn't have the thin aluminum top facing up. Because with aluminum it doesn't break like the eterna Bond type of duct tape stuff does. If you use this peel and stick aluminum and tar like tape mine has lasted for years because when I do something. I want to last as long as I can or for a lifetime. I can't say I've had the experience to mess with an RV roof but as long as the RV roof doesn't move around this aluminum and black tar like peel and stick tape or work perfectly. On a warm day, clean and install this aluminum and black tar like peel and stick tape from Lowe's or Home Depot around every screw. And afterwards I paint mine with a white roof coat. I get at Home Depot the Uncle Henry's type I don't remember the part number. It's a step up from the thinnest stuff they have. And it works great. They have all kinds of roof coats. But all RVs and cargo trailers will eventually leak over time with a heating, cooling and UV light breaking down the lapping compound that's used on them. Cargo trailers if you buy one new you could go for several years before you might see a leak. But with a camper as the dealer States you want to recaulk and maintenance the roof every 6 months. That's way too much time and money spent that's why I say do the job right the first time with whatever it takes. And once you get a leak you ruin the insulation on some of these campers with the cheaper insulation in them. But any leak causes mold and mildew and that's a very serious and mess of a problem. I know I had a neighbor that kept having leaks come into my apartment still it's the same thing and I had a serious mold problem so bad I moved out. Because I couldn't fix the neighbor with all the water problems she was having and on top of that she could have cared less.
I have really enjoyed your videos. Simple and to the point without the drama!! Someday I hope to downsize from TT to a TC myself. I am curious at what your overall height is being on the flatbed. Safe travels guys.
Hi JD Travelers, Our overall height is 12' or 12'1" I need to double check. I just barely fits through my garage door. Yes the flatbed truck is about 6" taller so the overall height is much taller than our old setup. Thanks for watching!
Hi SpaceCarBoy, No, selling the 975 was not a business decision we just wanted to get another molded fiberglass camper. The Lance was nice though. Thanks for watching!
If you're shopping for a dependable diesel truck. I want something that's dependable and lasts forever I went with the older non-def 2006 and older Dodge Cummins manual transmission. You can find them you're going to pay quite a bit because they're so valuable. Because so many people are sick of all these emission problematic 2007 and newer def trucks. It's so bad in trucking it's the same way as the smaller trucks. But a lot of smaller trucking companies with newer trucks or totally going out of business because they can't afford all the shop repairs in downtown of not trucking being in the shop. Most everybody in trucking doesn't want a newer emissions truck because they're not dependable they're a nightmare. I was helping out a friend and drove his new nice looking truck it broke down twice. It had to be towed and cost quite a bit of time and money to fix it. And now he's out of business. But if you've got to make the payments and buy a newer emissions truck you're going to really pay in the long run. I'm so glad years ago I bought me a very dependable Dodge Cummins with a manual transmission. That's something else you can't even get in the smaller diesel trucks is a manual transmission. Manual transmissions last a lot longer and are way cheaper in the long run.
Yeah I agree those counter tops are ugly, I think y'all should just order you another camper in the color y'all like and give that ugly bad camper to me, I think I can get it hauled away before anyone sees it.

what mattress are you using? we loved your video of the froli system and ended up purchasing one for our arctic fox. we are considering buying a new mattress and want to buy a Casper, since that is what we have at home, but are unsure if the frolic will work with a memory foam style mattress?
Hi Jay, since you’ve watched our channel before, it won’t surprise you that we have a different camper than this Bigfoot now 🤣 The mattress in the Bigfoot was very firm but we never changed it out so it was the one that came with it. We now have a 2020 Lance 1172 that we just got and surprisingly the mattress that came with it coupled with the Froli is VERY comfy so I don’t think we’ll change it out. I’ve heard those Caspers are nice and would probably work well with the Froli. Thanks for watching! -Carla
Is a Bigfoot camper a 4 season camper? Great video! Nice rig!
Yes Bigfoot campers are four season campers. Thanks for watching!
Why you got rid of setup I’ll never understand.
It was a great setup but a bit too cramped for us. And the bed was too short. 😕
Great video guys! Wondering what your reasoning is for putting the truck camper on a flat bed? Cheers! 👍🏻🍻🇺🇸
Hi Sean Stevenson, We needed a heavier duty truck with a higher payload which is why we got the Ram 4500 with a 16.5K payload. We got the skirted flatbed because it gives us extra storage. Thanks for watching!
since you guys now have a flatbed, are you thinking about having a custom flatbed camper built?
No but we did just get something new. We’ll show it soon.
What band does or did Todd play in?
Liked your mods to date. Would like to inquire however; don’t have and have been interested, watching many vids, but concerning your 2 30lb gas bottles, would you consider more bottles, secured to the steel bed since you have “that monster 300k btu heater” in some colder climates for extended travel or stay? Just that 2 that size seemed small for a heater that capable. Thank you sir.
We have never had a problem with 2 20lb propane tanks. They last a long time and I just get them refilled. Thanks for watching!
Hey, Im curious.... did you adapt your stable camper to fit your Bigfoot?
Hi Phil, No we haven't done that but we did think about trying.
Very spacious. Do you like it better than the northern lite?
Hi Ed Wilson, We love both the NL and Bigfoot. They each have their pluses and minuses. I feel like the Bigfoot campers are structurally built better but they are both great campers. Just my opinion for whatever that's worth. Thanks for watching!
Why aren’t you using your fast - gun tie downs ?
No comments about the Thedford Cassette toilet?
It's not a cassette toilet. Our Bigfoot has a 21 gallon black tank. Thanks for watching!
Outdoor speakers (and TV's) can be as hard on the neighbors as a loud generator in a campground. Not a fan.
I went back and looked at some of your other videos and I did not see what the overall height . My pole barn is 13’2”
It is right around 12 foot loaded but in order to load and unload it takes about 12.6 feet. Thanks for watching!
That side awning is so high it won’t provide much protection from rain if windy. It should be mounted below dinette window if possible as the flatbed makes it even worse.
How much is your height now on the flat because they are pretty tall to start with?
Hi Brent, Our flatbed it 6” taller than our last Ram 3500’s bed. The flatbed height unloaded is 43”. Thanks for watching!
Nice rig.
My wife's a real woman also lol.
Great video! What is your overall height?
Just under 12 foot, thanks for watching!
@@RunawayRoses thanks sir! Bet it gets close to mpgs of your last rig? I missed a handling of the camper on the new rig video as compared to the old one
Nice rig! Whats the payload capacity on that ram?
Our Ram 4500 has a GVWR of 16,500 lbs. The payload of our cab chassis truck with no bed on it was 8300 lbs. Thanks for watching!
Why anyone would want to do van life after seeing one of these, is beyond me.
What gas mileage does the truck get with the camper on it?
My truck would get around 12 mpg's with the camper on it. Thanks for watching!
Does the skylight open and have a bug screen?
The skylight doors not open in Bigfoot campers. Thanks
Fast guns .
Gotta be a fortune to drive that with gas being at least $5.00 a gallon now
Price?
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have really enjoyed your videos. Simple and to the point without the drama!! Someday I hope to downsize from TT to a TC myself. I am curious at what your overall height is being on the flatbed. Safe travels guys.
Hi JD Travelers, Our overall height is 12' or 12'1" I need to double check. I just barely fits through my garage door. Yes the flatbed truck is about 6" taller so the overall height is much taller than our old setup. Thanks for watching!
Don’t like the switches being so close to the sink….safety issue.
Hello there. Just curious, was the 975 sale a business decision? They are very long deliveries.
Hi SpaceCarBoy, No, selling the 975 was not a business decision we just wanted to get another molded fiberglass camper. The Lance was nice though. Thanks for watching!
“Standard Porcelain Sink”, LOL. Yeah, brush your teeth and spit. Hahaha!
Lance & Northern Lite is way nicer finished. Bigfoot campers look great if it was 1996.
👍👍👍👍👍👍😅😅😅😅😅😅
Yeah I agree those counter tops are ugly, I think y'all should just order you another camper in the color y'all like and give that ugly bad camper to me, I think I can get it hauled away before anyone sees it.
Bigfoot is the only way to go in a truck camper.
