Pretty amazing little movements and they last for decades with almost no maintenance. They can produce these for a few $$ dollars U.S. or maybe not even that much.

I have this movement in a Fishbone watch.
It's losing about 30 seconds a day at the moment, but the watch is also over 18 years old and has been in the closet with a dead battery for the last 10 or 12 years.
But this will be the first movement I will disassemble and clean.
Are the small pins of the gears, which are in the upper plate, actually lubricated with some oil or is the part assembled completely dry?
Definitely a great video and you are a real pro.

Wow, you pulled out it’s little guts and devotedly put them all back inside !! That’s true watchmaking that has nothing to do with brands or value, but the fact that a 3 dollar movement is what a watch should be a “ keeper of time” most watchmakers just throw it away and install a new one, never knowing if all it just needed was a little TLC.

The very first step you show is removing a plate. I am unable to change the battery without removing this plate. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

It looks like you have to remove the plate. That's the mistake I made. After removing the plate various parts start coming apart.... This video helped me put it back together. If you watch towards the end when he puts the battery back in you can see that the top plate can be pressed out of the way to remove the battery. There's a little clasp that you can just push back and then pry the battery out.
