I've been using this caliber for more than a decade, and never had a problem : caliber 2105 & 2305, respect
the mechanism is exactly the same as the 2005 & 2405 caliber, well, they are four brothers in the stem
Thank you so much for doing this video. I bought a Diesel watch with this movement in it and I needed to clean the crystal as it was very dirty for some reason from the time I bought it in the shop. I should have watched this video first as I think I may not have placed the click spring correctly. Fortunately with your excellent video on disassembly and assembly I should be able to get it to work again. (I did order a couple of Myota 2315 movements just incase lol). I can't thank you enough, cheers!

Which part?
I mean, oiling the train wheels pivots (the 3 gears)? The date mechanism jumper spring in the friction points? Time setting lever and joke? Or nothing at all where there is plastic to metal contact? It is for a 35 year old watch with some sentiment value (it was my father's latest watch). The watch has been not running for at least 25 years. Of course as an alternative I can easily replace the old movement 2108, which sometimes loses few seconds per day or gets stucked, with a new one 2105 but I attempt to keep the original one . Thank you!!
Anyway, I have cleaned (ultrasounds + rinsing with distilled water: bridges, the 3 gears, time setting lever elements) and then oiled (with Moebius 8000 very small amount with the smallest black oiler) only: the train wheels pivots (the 3 gears), rotor jewels, time setting lever and joke (contact points and pivots, visible in the video at 10:40), calendar spring pivot and its contact point with the date ring (visible in the video at 13:45). Then, a very small amount of silicon grease on the stem in the contact point with the setting lever mechanism. I made running fast the movement using an electric demagnetizer in order to distribute the oil. Currently after 10 days running everything it is ok, this Miyota 2108A, same as a 2105, movement 40 year old now runs smooth and looses about 5 seconds in 10 days so within specifications. Before this, it either stopped or slowed down randomly. Thank again for the video tutorial!
