my left ear liked this video
😂
Yeah all I hear in my left ear is his voice. But I hear music in my right. Was a bit annoying.
your headphoes are backwords
i just replugged my earphones thought i lost new ones :)))
if i half unplug my headphone i can get it to come out both sides :)
a ton of new features, including but not limited to: 100% cpu usage, navigation lag and more!
That's 10% more than the actual, updated, explorer!
@@EnterpriseKnight wait so explorer.exe has 90% cpu usage?
@@EnterpriseKnight are you guys using cpus from 10 years ago or smth?
The native Windows explorer is faster (instant on my PC) and is good enough, I hate having to use third party apps, if it could even have a Microsoft video editor built in it would be better
@@blancpainbritt That's probably because the default file explorer works as expected if you use the recommended hardware for Windows nowadays. (Which is a SSD with a CPU from after 2018)
You don't need to move your cursor round and round so much. Just add some colored boxes in post.
and not left panning the sound would be splendid
thought I'm the only one that find it annoying 🤣😂
also I think he should click on some of the themes so we see what they look like.Im not going to download the app just to see what the dark mode looks like
A fix for stereo troubled video like this:
For anyone who's using Windows 10 onwards, you can go to the windows settings > accessibility > audio and check mono audio to force to mono, at least for the duration of this video :)
also if the mic records stereo but only records on one side like this, in premiere there is an effect called "fill right with left" and you're set :)
bruh i thought my headset was going crazy
i love you
only reason i don't use this software is because when opening a folder and selecting alot of files, the ui lags( and the app itself ) so it's not worthy for me, yes the ui is better, yes it has nice features, yes bla bla bla, if they don't fix the lag issue I will still not install it...
Just a tip, do not do the circling with your mouse
Came here to say this.
Chaos mode with mouse
Agree, that makes nervous and agressive 😅
Works decently, although the initial start time is horrible and for some directories it hangs a lot for no obvious reason (might be the git implementation?). In contrast to the regular Windows file explorer, it doesn't hang the entire system just because a network drive that I don't even access isn't available outside of a VPN.
Lol 😂
Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for, an explorer lookalike with proper DPI scaling, customizable backgrounds, and to top it off, features that explorer doesn't have.
Hm, installed it to give it a whirl and so far so good for me. I'm not seeing this lag or high CPU usage other comments are talking about, it's very snappy for me.
Edit: After using Files for a couple days now, I'm very impressed. For me it's _way_ faster than Explorer in every aspect. As an example, I always have a screenshots folder open while I game, I keep it on another monitor so I can quickly grab screenshots and toss them in Discord. This folder is quite large and many years old. With Explorer, when I pressed the screenshot button, it would take several seconds for the folder to refresh and finally add the image. (It recently stopped automatically refreshing altogether, I had to manually do it to bring my image to the top of the list, this is actually what made me look for a new option, which lead me to Files.) With Files, it is *instant*. As soon as I press the screenshot button, the image is there, ready to go, before I even have my finger off the button. It still catches me off-guard with how fast it is because I'm so used to Explorer being slow with this.
This is with NVMe drives. My C drive is a Gen4 NVMe, and my D drive, my media drive that has the screenshot folder, is Gen3.
Love the UI but lags big time.
It's great, I've been using it a bit but noticed some FATAL flaws :
1) Can't open "This PC" Properties
2) Slow
3)High CPU and RAM usage
4)Crashes sometimes
This app will be so good once the performance are fixed.
I use it for a while now, but when you are dealing with heavy cut / copy / paste the CPU Usage can go up to 100 % it is kinda scary. So it is very good, but they need to optimize it a little more.
Anyone who can code can make much faster explorer than windows have, you can search for videos like making optimized explorer search. This application doesn’t have anything good except for the UI part for now
@@vitalysuper3193not really, fun fact, there is a high (90%) chance you are just using the same libraries as Windows devs if you “wrote your own file explorer”. The only way you wouldn’t be is if you wrote your own FS communication layer that gets added alongside the Windows one, and would just lead to overhead.
@@aoiyu_ yes but if we deep dive into it there are so many things they could do better at specific edge-cases. The windows explorer is good for many users and just terrible for advanced ones. Such as not being able to cancel “file move” operations, ui freezes, remote fs handling and so on… there are so obvious ways to mark many things cachebale just to not wait for the files list on slow remote fs connection for example. Or if we take the search experience: it’s just extremely horrible and i would like to remote it from my explorer at all
Tip: Make sure your microphone audio in your video editor is on a mono audio track. You put it on a stereo track so although the music can be heard on both sides of speakers/headphones, the microphone can only be heard on the left side. But thanks for this video!
ok, done. Constantly wiggling the mouse pointer around was WAY to ANNOYING. Seek medical attention
If it still lags then that is a deal breaker. it looks nice though. Windows FE has improved in the looks department as well.
yo mate, there is a big problem with the audio i only hear it from 1 side of my headset, if u can fix it that be great anyway good video !
Made my life hell a while ago. Had to reinstall Windows because the OG file explorer had been corrupted.
You are a lifesaver man thank you
No tree view for navigation? To me that lowers it's usability so much that it's not even worth using.
My left ear enjoyed this lmao
I wish it had the feature where your voice can be heard in the right ear.
Been using it for ages now. Only thing I don't like is dealing with my large folder of audio (many folders). It tends to struggle compared to native FE.
One thing i love abot this update its the fact that now it keeps a background procces wich allows the app to start faster, it was so anoyying before to wait 3 to 5 seconds even with an m.2 for the app to start.
But in the performance side the app struggles when opening a folder with a lot of pictures T_T
I really want to use Files. It's a beautiful software and such a functionality improvement over Explorer but I just can't. There's a tiny bit of lag to it, like a 250ms lag every time you change folders and it's just really aggravating when trying to do a lot of navigation around.
This app is so slow...
Please make it work faster. I used it for a few weeks then randomly explorer opened up again and it's just so fast. Files is sluggish and slow. Until it opens and doesn't have to load everytime I will use Explorer. But in reality this is what Explorer should really look like

My left ear enjoyed this video.
I like this video but please accept this tip of my side:
Please make your voice in your video Stereo my best friends headphones are dead and literally can´t hear your voice.
Your cursor has more moves than a disco dancer!
Thanks for the video, and don't forget to give the little guy 🐀 a needed rest in between! 😂
My left ear enjoyed this
Apart from the UI , I think explorer++ is better then this High CPU usage and RAM hogging thing.
Huh, your voice is on the left side only. It's strange that I'm finding this error in more and more videos recently. Content producers should pay more attention to this.
Now continuing to watch your video. :D 🤘🏼
Really good alt to WE. But the Reason to avoid, it won't be default WE : sometime lag, slow and no batch rename multi files, (My PC Stats: AMD 3300X, 16GB ram, M2 SSD)
Thank goodness I grabbed it when Files was in v2 in the store, it was free.
Yep
I rather wait for windows 12 thank you bro.
Never use explorer , been using total commander for 10+ years
Sorry, but that app takes up to 93% of CPU and all my 16GB of ram just to copy files from an external ssd to a hdd, and the same goes for doing the opposite, I will keep the windows files explorer and use teracopy for my needs, this let me watch videos on youtube in firefox while the operation is done, if I do this with files version 3, I can't switch to my firefox windows, its stuck.
pro tip for users watching with headphones: take off the left ear and you can enjoy the background music in your right ear without all the rambling
It took Microsoft like 2 decades to implement tabs in file manager but that's it, no more improvements. Someone created a different file manager with extended functionality but it cripples the system.
I see that nothing changes. It's the same circle of MS usage. MS releases undercooked software -> users rant -> some other developer creates what they need -> users happy -> MS releases updates/time passes -> software becomes unstable -> users return to MS defaults.
only left audio channel work! u mast be kidding me
still no List View like in Windows Explorer... hard pass! If I want a big icon file manager, i'll install some form of Linux or make a Hackintosh out of my Laptop.
thx for putting your mic on the left ear, i was wibing to the music the whole video
My left ear loves this.
I don't really see any reason to switch to this. There doesn't seem to be much advantage. I've been using directory opus for over a decade and it is by far a better program and worthy of the switch.
if they program something like this in lower level programming languages, it will be worth to try
my left ear enjoyed the video
Really I don't want to trash your video but almost everything you show can be done in Windows Explorer too, except the skin stuff. Why should anyone put more bloat on already blated OS? If I try to put this more positively - may be you should make a side by side comparison of the 2 and show how fast they are, how easy to use each of them is and so on.
my left ear really enjoyed this
Feels like a spyware scam to marginally improve something that did its job already
Amazing video for my left ear!
What I would rather reccomend is using StartAllBack to return the classic, less cluttered explorer, and old normal context menu, and combine with quizo's Qttabbar, which gives you smaller, easier to look tabs, which you can customize how they look and behave, and tons of other stuff.
i just came for a review but u saved me 9 euro thank u so much !
bruh i only heard this man in my left ear, had me thinking my headset was broken then saw that all the audio was coming from the left channel
had me 💀
My left ear enjoyed a lot this video, the right one not so much
yeah my left ear is enjoying your voice and my right ear is enjoying the music. Very good sound editing you've done, don't do it again. Hire someone
looks good but does not perform the same and performance is worse than default
REPLACE Windows File Explorer WITH "Files". The correct title.
Has anyone actually checked this to make sure it isn't phoning home any personal data? Also, can't see a way to show files in list format.
One minute in, I quit caring about what was being said due to the audio.
It is not free at all you have to pay for it on Microsoft store. Not even a free trial !!!
my left ear enjoyed this video :D
Really sad how windows needs third party apps to have this amount of customization and features...
third party app are always better than default app like... foobar or musicbee is better than default music player, VLC is better video player, Irfanview is better photo viewer, notepad++ is better text file editor. also it's known fact that everyone ditched internet explorer to chrome you know.
@@quas3728I was referring to how Linux offers these customization options and features without requiring to install a secondary file explorer et cetera.
If Windows is really only a nice experience once you replace every component of it with third party ones, then what's the point of using it altogether compared to a system that has these features out of the box?
THAT was what i was trying to say
@@justacat3639 I mean using third party app is not sad thing at all. It's easy to pick known reliable ones.
Are you trying to break my ear with that only left audio 💀
Can't believe I "donate" $10 on a piece of crap that doesn't quite replace the default file browser.
I still use Total Commander! The best !!!!
thanks man, this help me. my windows explorer not auto refresh. i need hit refresh button everytime after extract files to get know the new files/folder
I immediately switched to normal File Explorer after seeing the lag it caused and now I cant right click on my files without my File Explorer crashing. Help :(
my left ear enjoyed this
I successfully wasted my 9 minutes & 14 seconds. Thank you!
IMHO, It reallly SHOULD NOT cost ANY money. (seriously, though $8.99 for a file explorer?)
I like Windows 8.1, Windows 10 & Windows 11 file transfer graph with history running view.
*_I haven't found any 3rd party app that does that...yet._*
mine says "Install failed. Please contact your software vendor"
Doesn't work offline, once you disconnect your wifi the thing just stops working
Wtf with this app, the installer is 70mb and it still need to download something large on internet
it costs $ 8.99 not free anymore ?
Can confirm. Files still sucks. Still buggy. I’ve gone to One Commander and it’s incredible. Use that instead. I’ll never go back to files or file explorer
€9.99 ( Euros ) for 15 simple wallpapers ??? I stopped right there, your'e off your rocker mate !!
"Windows 11 free 4k ultrawide wallpapers"
gives even better wallpapers lmao
like fr, who is literally buying wallpapers in 2023
Hopefully you can edit this, and put the vocal recording in stereo , because it's currently in mono
I Use XYplorer multiple pane multi tab a lot of powerful features
the sound when you have headphones on 💀
Look at how long it took to load! An instant no-go to me
STOP moving the mouse so much!
can i install it in my win 10 or it's gonna break everything?
uh ok thank you@fahimhoq3166
Audio is jacked up. Left speaker only for voice while music is stereo
Sound of this video is 1/10th, Why? Also, it's 90%on left speaker and 10% on right speaker. Why?
cool video.
i'm looking for a way to tag my nas files.
Can you make a video about tags?
Where are they stored, can i use it on usb/nas?
You are shaking the mouse cursor way too much! It felt a bit irritating to me, thanks.
Why my explorer crash... every image mime i selected. On win 11
I don't suppose we can get you to install Microsoft's Power Tools so you can use the cursor highlighter so you can stop jiggling the cursor which gives me a headache...
Q-Dir is the best!
There is a big bug in version 3 the date created is different from the date created in Windows file explorer! When copying it also won't keep the original date created like the mac os does.
i turned on my mono audio option for this video
imho, nothing beats XYplorer!
does it fix folders broken by indexing?
I thought my earphones were broken
I mean File Explorer does the job, decent performance, decent UI. FILES is from I see, is slightly sleeker looking. But thats about it. Performance looks about the same in your videos as well with others and is it less resource intensive? What are the advantage to replace File Explorer? I'm trying to justify to make the switch. But nowadays, I try to just use the default apps, other than Chrome. I just want to reduce clutter and the amount of redundant apps installed. Along with this, i just want Windows to be as light weight as much as possible and reduce usage of my ssd hard drive. Hate to say this, Microsoft is essentially trying to make is OS a one stop shop and I'm incline to agree for sake of clutter. If this was Windows 7 or 8.1, all my apps were third party and open source. Windows 10 and onwards, Microsoft has made great strides in its apps. I can't believe I'm saying all this great stuff about Microsoft. =D
Having said that I'm always on the look out for better apps, and love testing and playing around with them, but once I find they are less efficient or most cases large in size than the Microsoft own app, I just remove them.
