Welcome to the Third Time Around Ranch. After living in the country most of our lives we still felt like something was wrong. We kept talking about getting back to the basics of life and taking care of ourselves like our great grandparents did. So instead of depending on stores for everything, we bought some land in Alabama where we intend to build debt free on a fixed income and become as self sufficient as we possibly can. Why is it called candling when there's no candle.maybe back in the day all they had was candles to use.really cool n fun stuff.everything is always cute when there little.
That's an interesting question and one I could not find an answer to.
@@ThirdTimeAroundRanch it is what was done prior to flash lights.in the original day it was done with a candle .it was the only source of looking in the egg.therefore called candling.i looked it up in my encyclopedias. Good stuff.

Hello, I have a question. It’s our first time incubating peafowl eggs, and we added water for humidity on day 25 when we locked em down. It’s day 27 and it looks like all the humidity is gone! Will this cause problems with my hatch, and is there anything we can do?
Just add more water. You have to keep the humidity up or they will stick to the shells and not be able to hatch. The best way to add humidity quickly is to spray warm water into the incubator then close it up quickly. But you still must add water first.
How are the peafowl doing?
They are doing great, almost old enough to go outside

Love you guys... but why on earth would you want Peafowl? They are such noisy creatures! Your choice of course... just curious.
We had peafowl when we lived in Colorado and they are just such gorgeous birds. We really didn't find them to be that noisy. Now our turkeys on the other hand.. Lordy they gobble at everything, funny funny birds
