- In today's Family Farm Vlog, after many months, we decided to finally let the peafowl out today. That is Scott, Ozella, & Ms Lewis, our peacock crew, & the reason we have had then locked up for so long was bc peacocks & peahens are very territorial, & we did not want them to fly off, & our turkey, Thomas, and our peacock, Scott, started to fight a little at the old farm.

The duck sitting in the chickens cooped was a hoot. She's saying" maybe I can lay an egg."

It's good to see that the Cog Hill Parole Board gave Scott an early release for good behavior with probation. Most peacocks deserve a second chance in life because none of us are perfect.

That was so nice to see the peacocks out and about. It never ceases to amaze me just how fast foul can "de-grass" a large area. Now that spring is almost there, I bet they will enjoy spreading their wings more.

Love seeing your dream property come together. It is truly inspiring. Even a 48 yr old can be inspired by MC's love of all things feathered.... started building my own chicken coop this past weekend. Turned my she shed, gardening shed, into a big coop and fenced off a run across the back side of my garden space so I can clean the run right into my compost bin. Thank you, Cog Hill, for all you do to inspire all of us!😍

So glad Scott and his ladies are out! That garage shower is the best idea! Keeps a lot of dirt and mud out of the house. Showers, tubs, wiring, sealing concrete - oh my! So much progress. Especially during a time of supply chain issues. Just think, you will be spending part of your first summer in your new home. I am so excited for you. Well deserved indeed!
I think for now Scott will be docile, but lets see in couple of weeks when he gets comfortable with the new surroundings and will try to expand his territory;).

Belle flying on to Mary Carl's outstretched hands made me smile. I never thought of chickens being affectionate bur my sister-in -law's nephew had chickens and when he would sit on the porch some of the chickens would come up and sit on his lap and shoulders. You are all so good with your animals.

I don’t think there’s another person on earth that’s more caring with animals than Mary Carl and your family. MC has such a tender touch and she educates herself with each animal so she is able to care for them as best she can. She has taken all she learned from you and Brooke and adds her special touch…I can only imagine her as an adult. What a wonderful veterinarian she would be. Whatever she chooses to do in life she will excel in every way!! I simply love watching your family videos and you always leave me wanting more!! It's so adorable how each of those animals have their own little personalities. I love it. I'm so happy your plants weren't damaged. That even upset me seeing the damage that was done to the greenhouse. I thought about how excited you were planting and then watching them sprout. I always love the ending of your videos with all those happy babies, too.

My 2 male peacocks sleep in the huge pecan trees and enjoy chasing my hens they're all free range. Their very nosey too.
Sounds great about the new greenhouse you have coming, in the meantime you could always move the peacock pen and put greenhouse plastic on it and make a greenhouse out of it.
