Hi Patrick, just watched your magnificent video of Aer Turas' DC-863F at EBOS. Excellent filming/presentation. The power and beauty of that ship leaves me in awe.. The stretch 8's have been my favorite planes since I worked the ramp at Anchorage International way back when.. I loved watching Flying Tigers and Evergreen slipping those big birds in on short final, doing much the same thing that Kalitta Air was trying to do at Guantanamo Bay with one of their DC-8-61 freighters. As you will recall they were extremely lucky to escape with their lives. Keep up the great work, Patrick. It is always a pleasure!
I can only imagine the shock of hearing the DC-8 and the 707 for the first time after decades of propliners. You have some terrific videos. 4gold stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thank you very much! Josh , i decided to do so , knowing at the time that it could be over soon , and so it did , a wished that more created living pictures as such , Greetz
Brilliant! 👍🏻 In my days at LTN I fondly remember seeing Aer Turas operating various types over many years. DC-4, DC-7, Bristol Britannia, Canadair CL44J and this magnificent DC-8-63
@@jetstream454 Yes, esp. on long, heavy, max-effort takeoffs. The diverter vanes in the fan bi-ducts were of very thin aluminum and they would sometimes lose little pieces around the edges. I suppose the air may have been approaching trans-sonic speeds, or some such.
This is an excellent video for the fans of the DC-8 super 63. It is interesting to see how the 747 and DC-10 Tower over the DC-8 even though the DC-8 is a huge airplane. and what a clean take off, hardly any smoke. This is a great video 👍

Ye ole greasy eight. Snap, crackle, pop...as little pieces of the fan bi-ducts go flying out the back... Thanks for the memories, Patrick.
Glad you enjoyed it , my pleasure Dave , appreciate your feedback , always

Amongst many many aviation videos, on one is to explain how captains keep the nose wheel on taxi line!
Troppo taxi ma e'-reale. Attenzione attraversamento volatili (uccelli non aerei ah ah) bello come sempre bay
It looks like a -62 to me.
