Patrick the old timers with those lovely GE engines what a sweet sound in our ears from yesteryear, especially the World Airlines DC10. It like the 1970's all over again. The DC8's are legendary from so many millions of miles around the world still love them. Feel like a child on the observation deck up top of Pearson Toronto International in the 1960's and the 70's. Patrick have great weekend catch you on the next flight.

Damn, you got my number! 12 years on the DC-8 , all 3 seats & 1 year as a Captain on the DC-10 at EWA. Thanks for this.😎

I love 3 an 4 engined planes. Always felt safer! Felt there were plenty of options!

Beautiful aircraft and powerful, such a shame that they are no longer used.

Great video! Love watching the rudder flap back and forth as they apply power. Also note the break dust off of the main landing gear when they select "gear-up" after take-off and the brakes automatically apply to stop wheel rotation.

I still say the DC-10s & L1011s are the most beautiful aircraft to ever take to the skies.

as for giant tri-holers yes , 727 and 154 in their category , i always prefered 4 engined classic jets though 🙃

i've flown on both of these clunkers, although my flights on dc-8s were on the "stretch" version.
i didn't realise oostende would have such an active airport.

@@ProjectNemesis92 oh i didn't realise the b52 used the same kind of engines. b52 kind of arranges them in 4 sets of 2, doesn't it?

@@ProjectNemesis92 i've flown on both the dc-10 and the dc-8 stretch, as well as numerous times on the dc-9.
i view macdonell-douglas stuff as junk but i'm still glad i flew on them.

The DC-10 is not worth remembering, its poor design was responsible for what was the worst air disaster as of that time just outside Paris in the early 70s (Turkish Airlines at Orly). It was the Boeing Max of the 70s. It ended it's career with a piece falling off on another Paris runway causing the Concorde crash.

Isso não Quer Dizer que o DC-10-30 Não Seje Mais Lembrado
      É triste o que Aconteceu Mais o DC-10-30 Tem História ❤
