  • Hi Everyone! 🌹✨ I love to see how deep and dimensional the glass can get! This can be a very simple process…with the right tools! 🌹To achieve this kind of depth, I am using a Ball Stylus. It is actually a polymer clay tool that I found hiding in a random drawer… but you can find them easily online! This is a perfect tool to press into the glass. There is also a fun cane that I will share for the pattern! The depth is then revealed by adding several layers of clear on top. The results are definitely candy for the eyes! 😂
In other news…Patrick and I will be out of town next week for a much needed vacation in Colorado. I try to post demos every week but it doesn’t always happen. There are times when I’m feeling burn out and just need to step away from the torch for a bit. But don’t worry! I will continue making these demos for you all as often as possible! 💫🌹
Thanks for all of your support over these last few years….it truly keeps us motivated and inspired! ✨✨✨Enjoy!!
Hugs and Cheers to you all - Robin 💫🌹

Oh oh my 🎉 once again you amaze me- with a never before seen creation. And at the end when I was going to ask why no bubble with the deep spot ( covered with large dot of clear) you said no air bubble. Can’t even imagine how much clear glass you go thru… oh and you mentioned using your beads… is there a location for us to see how you use them?! Again huge thanks ❤

Hello Maria! 🤗🌹 I’m so happy you enjoyed this one! And yes…I go through a lot of clear glass. lol! I start to get nervous when I see my stock pile dwindling!😂 One of these days I will do a short video showing some of my more interesting art pieces, but for now I must apologize as there is nothing out there to see. A long time ago we did have a website, but keeping it up was expensive and time consuming.
Thanks so much for asking…I truly appreciate! 🙏🏽✨ Hope you’re doing well!! ✨✨Cheers- Robin🙏🏽🌈🌹🌹

Love it. I have used the ball press for flower pedals but this is really fun. Get tired of twisting this is more marble like. Elegant. Thanks Robin.

That's really cool Robin, I especially like the green and blue one.
And a tip for anyone who has a clear Boro rod,you can make that tool out of Boro ,it works really well.

Hi Buttercup! 🌹✨ love your Boro idea!! It does work well as a pressure tool! I have been meaning to use a Boro paddle to press down Murrini with but keep forgetting when in the moment. 😅 Glad you enjoyed! Thanks so much for sharing!! 🙏🏽🌹🌹 Cheers- Robin 👋🏽🌈

@scottwoodresearch I made one with a ball on one end and a paddle on the other end to use for murrini. Maybe you could make one in a video where your using murrini. I bet people would appreciate that.

OMG! We were visiting Colorado earlier this month too and got pictures with the same troll! Really cool to have been in the same spot as some of my favorite artists 🙂 I picked up a set of these ball stylus' while browsing in Michael's with my wife. I can't wait to give this technique a try. Thank you for the inspiration Robin. Your channel is the first place I come when I need a creativity boost!

Also glad to hear that you bought a ball stylus…Im excited that you are going to try this technique out. There is so much to explore! 🌈✨ I’m honored that you have enjoyed and been inspired by the demos! 🙏🏽 Thanks so much for sharing. 🌹✨Cheers- Robin👋🏽💫

Another interesting design and technique. I've used dapping punches to make depressions in glass, but a ball stylus would be much easier to grip. I hope things are warming up for you as fast as they are cooling off here.

Hi Jirup!✨🌹 Glad you liked this one! I love looking for new tools to play with in the glass. I just found this one in an old drawer of art supplies and thought I would give it a try! Love the depth it gives!! ✨😍 It is definitely getting warmer here…I’m glad the dungeon is in the basement!😂. Hope you have had a chance to get on your torch with the cool weather coming your way! 🙏🏽🌈 Big Hugs - Robin 🌹🌹

Hey Robin, hope you and Patrick are ok and had a great vacation seeing your parents and the drive wasn’t to hard on you or Patrick. I love the cane on this it Is beautiful and the technique used is truly very interesting and unique. You have a very ingenious mind and an interesting one. I have previously tried a ball stylus myself on a glass bead and found that if not careful when putting the clear glass over where you have applied the indention marks you can end up with a wide range of bubble sizes from none to large but I did also find it gave character to the work as long as they weren’t in an area of the glass that could weaken it. But all in all I really do love this bead and the cane, the bead so screams you my friend. I hope you are having a good weekend and enjoying your time on your torch. Hope you are still having great weather where you are. Say hi to Patrick for me please . Stay safe my friend and look after yourself ❤️ 🌹

Hi Kelly! 🤗🌹 Thanks so very much!! 🙏🏽 These were a lot of fun to make! I did notice a few tiny bubbles in the pockets but tried to be careful when adding the clear. The size of the ball is 6 mm and I also used 6mm clear rod that I think if it was any bigger I would have definitely trapped bigger bubbles. 💫✨ Patrick and I made it to Colorado just fine. He drove the whole time!…amazing!! What a great guy!😂 We did stop overnight as the total drive took about 22 hours!! We were so tired and sore once we got to our destination! 😅
Feeling great now that we are here and enjoying the beautiful Mountain View! 💫✨🌹Great to hear from you as always!! Hope all is well with you and you’re feeling good today! 🙏🏽✨ We will be heading back home Thursday, so I will hopefully have my next demo ready for Saturday…see you then!! Cheers- Robin 🌹🌹🌹

@@scottwoodresearch so glad you enjoyed doing this bead because like I said the cane and bead are truly stunning. Thank you for telling me the measurements of the stylus and clear rod as the size of the clear rod does explain why you got so little amount of bubbles in your bead. The size of the stylus was just perfect for the size of the bead any bigger or any smaller and I don’t think it would have worked out as planned. It’s not surprising both you and Patrick were in so much pain after a 22 hour drive even with a break in between as sitting in a car for a long period can be excruciatingly painful especially when you suffer from chronic pain already and your Patrick is a total gem for driving the whole 22 hours to Colorado. I’m glad to hear your having a great time in Colorado with Patrick and your parents, I bet the weather is beautiful, if you don’t mind can you please take me some pictures of the mountains and send them to me in an email when you get back please if that’s not too much trouble as I would love to see how truly beautiful they are? Say hi to Patrick for me please and have a safe journey back Thursday. Looking forward to Saturday’s tutorial and seeing what you come up with for a bead, pendant or even a marble as your brain works in wonderful really detailed oimaginative and truly creative ways so you could really create anything you put your hand to with glass as you are honestly a amazing lampwork artist in your own right my friend. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your vacation and time with your parents ❤️ 🌹
