Lampworking / Flameworking - Just for fun - Dad’s Mountain Marble - 104 Demos

- Hello my Friends! 😃🌹 I make items for my mom all the time….but what about Dad?! Well….he loves the mountains. He skis, hikes and bikes the Colorado mountains. 😂 I wanted to make him something special for Fathers Day this month….Something he can put on his desk to enjoy! I think a big Mountain Marble is sure to make him happy! 🌹✨ This piece is inspired by Pikes Peak, the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, here in North America. 🏔️
The design can be arranged to fit any size or shape that you like…it doesn’t have to be a big marble! ✨✨
This particular piece took a little bit more than an hour to make and as you will see, I have heavily edited the long heating segments out to shorten the demo time.
***If you are interested in seeing the Tree Trunk pedestal that this marble sits on in the final photos, I have demonstrated it before in ‘The Magic Cauldron’ demo. This one can be found in the ‘Everything Flameworking’ and ‘Holiday Lampworking playlists’.
I hope you all enjoy this fun demonstration and try something new to brighten your day!💫
Thanks so much for joining me!!
Happy June!! 👋🏽🌹🌹 Cheers - Robin 👋🏽🌈

Ummmm.......WOW. Just WOW! Everything you make is beautiful - but the artistry on this is amazing! (And it made me smile because one of my ancestors is the first recorded woman to ever climb Pikes Peak)
Hello Knikki! 🤗🌹 That is the coolest thing I have heard concerning this piece! I’ve been up to Pikes Peak several times when I was a kid! Absolutely love the marble Robin and now your dad has this beautiful view inside and outside the home with your stunning marble that his talented daughter has made for him. You are so sweet to your parents my friend and this is truly wonderful about you. That view from your parents is defo stunning I’ll give you that they are very lucky to live in such a beautiful area. I hope both you and Patrick are doing ok. Also I hope you really enjoyed making this marble even if you did have to chase it but well that sometimes happens with marbles. Say hello to Patrick for me please. I hope you are doing ok in yourself. Stay safe and look after yourself my friend and I’m only in my inbox if you wanna chat
Hi Kelly! 😍✨ Thanks so much!! I really enjoyed making this for my Dad. I think a handmade marble is a perfect gift for someone like him….who is soooo hard to buy for!! 😂🌹 My parents are great and have always supported my art. I am forever grateful for them. ✨✨✨ Our neighborhood is winding down today after having its 51st Old West End Festival! Always the first weekend in June with festivities all around our historic district. Lots of fun but very tiring! Now it’s time to relax and recuperate and play on my torch before the work week begins again. 🙏🏽🌈 I hope all is well with you and that you’re having a wonderful day! Hugs and cheers to you my friend!! Robin 🌹🌹🌹
@@scottwoodresearch I’m so really happy to hear you enjoyed making this marble for your dad and I totally understand the thing about certain people being hard to buy presents for, but i’m really glad to hear that your dad is going to love this marble so much because it is a truly amazing handmade gift. It’s great that your parents have supported your pursuits of your arts especially your lampworking and hot glass work. How was the Old West End Festival? even tho tiring & fun, do you learn more each year it happens? I hope the new work week goes well and your time on the torch is productive and fun as it should always be as being on the torch should never be boring or stressful. I hope you are doing ok and you get plenty of rest tonight but I also hope Patrick is ok and neither of you are in pain. I myself have been busy doing work but had to stop because my back went out with muscle spasms and severe pain that won’t ease up but I’ll be ok as always as I have to be, all I did was stand up and move a couple of mm and it just went on me so I’ll have to rest for the rest of today till I have to do stuff late morning tomorrow. Stay safe my friend and take care. I hope both yourself and Patrick rest well tonight and also the rest of the week and that work goes well all week. I have lots of work to do myself this week as well. I’m in my inbox if you need a chat my friend ❤️ 🌹
Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks so much Wynette! 🤗✨ Glad you enjoyed this one!! 🙏🏽 Cheers- Robin 👋🏽🌈✨✨🌹
Looks like you have some birds flying in the sky! I hope you didn't burn yourself when the marble rolled out of the mound. Hope your Dad likes it.
Hello Shelley! 😍🌈 Lol! They definitely could be birds…that is what I will tell my Dad! 😂👍🏽
When the marble fell, I came so close to just picking it up with my fingers….but was able to get it back in the mold with my mini mashers. It was sooo stressful for a few seconds though! 😅🌹
Glad you enjoyed!!! 🌹🌹 Cheers- Robin💫✨✨✨
This is an awesome video..Thanks for you ART.
Awe!! 🤗🌹 Thank you Kenneth!! I really appreciate that! 😭✨ Glad you enjoyed!
Cheers to you- Robin👋🏽🌈🌹
This is so cool! I live in Colorado Springs!
Hi Jordan! 😁👋🏽 That’s awesome! We love it there and are always happy when we get a chance to visit! ✨🌹 So glad you enjoyed! 👋🏽
Cheers- Robin🌈✨
Very cool. I don’t remember seeing fur trees in that area. Lots of Ponderosa pines in the black forest.
Hi Robert! 👋🏽💫 Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed this one! The pine trees are in my parent’s backyard….they planted them there years ago. 🤗✨✨ I honestly had to look up the differences of the fur tree and pine tree….(I thought they were the same.)….I was mistaken!😂🌹 Glad you mentioned it! Have a wonderful day!! Cheers- Robin ✨✨✨
❤
Many Thanks Brindledragon!! 🤗🌈✨✨✨
Hi Robin, another great treat. Really nice to see some different techniques and marbles. There's a fair bit of glass, what temp and time did you anneal the marble? 🧐
Hello Dan! 🤗✨ Thanks so much! It is fun making more sculptural pieces! I had may annealer set at 1000 degrees…hold for 1 hour, anneal for 4 hours. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead my friend! Cheers- Robin 🙏🏽🌈🌹🌹🌹
@@scottwoodresearch Great thanks Robin. I’m flying over to your part of the world today, well LA, then onto Corning in a week, so exciting to be studying some more glass techniques. 🤓
@offtheplinth Safe travels and have a great time Dan!! 🤗🌹 So excited for you!!! 👋🏽✨🌈
