Dont agree with the douban rating for Lost you forever s2, it is remarkably well, specially as a book fan. But I understand why it might have less viewers coz the theme of this season is not all sunshine and roses and romance, it touches on pretty heavy stuff. Its not everyone's cup of tea. But I am definitely enjoying it. And Tan Jianci is awesome, the voice, the microexpressions all are impeccable.
I'm really proud of Zi Tao and Yi Yang ... they made decisions that reflected their own sense of their relationship and didn't allow themselves to be pressured into anything. Really, people are just too intrusive. Congratulations to them on their reveal, and may they have many happy years together.
It's so nice when a couple is happily in love and in a stable relationship. I'm glad Huang Zitao & Xu Yiyang decided to wait until THEY felt their relationship was stable. Especially for people who have the cameras always on them, having a stable relationship before going public with it is I think the best approach. Ewww the opening Douban rating for LYF2, is really low. I just started it and while I was really not wanting to watch another costume drama right away, (I guess I'm a little burned out on them right now), I gave in since I had been waiting for it. So, now I'm binging on it. lol Yang Zi disappointed me in her "Best Choice Ever" with Xu Kai, but not in LYF2. Which is a whole different acting role and she, like in Season 1, is doing a great job. I love a great love story and the one with Huang Zitao & Xu Yiyang is so precious. What a romantic he is and she is so cute. Hope they last. Congrats to Wang Yibo and all the other actors who ran with the torch. It's an honor, no matter what country you're from. How cute Tian Xiwei is, laughing at the paparazzi. It's even more questionable when platforms publish ratings for dramas that have not even started to air yet. I just had an eyebrow raising moment when I checked Northwards and Moonlight Mystique, which already have dozens ratings of over 9.6 or 9.9 on iQiyi platform! So.... since it looks like many of those ratings are cast without raters even watching the shows, it undermines trust in ratings overall. Except perhaps for the niche ones like To The Wonder, that did not get much hype before airing but did have a taster show in the Cannes festival for international TV series before (though it did not win, on the strength of the 2/8 episodes shown). Raters who cared to throw in their vote must have watched it, also because it was not very long, about 6-7hrs watch. Douban is still high rating To The Wonder at 8.9 for the past few weeks.

I have been waiting for LYF season two for a year to watch. I think they would have done better to show it all at one time but the laws changed it. What a shame. But I'm still going to watching it.
I am so unhappy that in 2nd season of LYF those writers have butchered the story by deleting imp scenes between Xiaoyao n Xianglui which give depth to original novel.They r trying to push Jing- XY CP and to show Jing in better light witch definitely is not the truth. I want to know what Tong Hua is doing by allowing this. So sad for us fans.Was looking forward to S2 of LYF and enjoy it😢😢😢

I actually agree with the current rating of LYF 2; it’s really flying along and has bizarre editing. I am happy for the two lovebirds and I wish them all the best. I hope that the media can give them the privacy that they deserve. TJC is doing a great job on LYF 2 and I’m looking forward to the UTS sequel whenever that comes out. That interaction thing looks cool though it’s a little early in the morning for me, but I do hope that weTV or Tencent does somehow subtitle or have someone translating as they go because overseas fans need English subtitles lol. I'm watching LYF2 n following it excitingly. It's more complicated n about politics n relationships. Overall, it's a great drama with great costume, scenes n great actresses n actors. Even the senior actors acted very well. There're also many moral values. Even the relationship of Xiaoyao n Jing talks about faithful love, responsibility n generosity. Hope the youngsters will learn something from the story. Love LYF2.
Agreed S1 is much better, S2 is so boring and the storyline is stupid. I would rate it lower to about 6.0 instead of 6.6. I found 2024 is the worst year for CDrama so far, nothing exciting. I ended up dropped a lot of them. The only one I liked the best for 2024 thus far is Angels fall sometimes. A good tear jerker.
I believe that along with cut scenes, the gap between the two seasons and the spoiled parts of the story has had a huge impact on the suspense of the story and led it to be less attractive. But despite that, this is still a very quality product and remained my number one drama.

Hi, you withdrew your recom for upcoming "There's a fox in Hengmen" (Linjiang xian) ? I was going to thank you for drawing attention to it, although there's only an MV at the moment and a beautiful poster, no date yet for airing on iQiyi if I'm not mistaken. It looks long for a fairy tale (40x45'). Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng looks like an interesting pairing for that one. Anyway since you whetted my appetite, I'll probably give it a peek, whenever it hits screens. Bai Lu is also featured in 2 other upcoming dramas : costume Moonlight Mystique and Northward, which looks like slice of life. I had a look at iQiyi and was puzzled by the ratings there, which already announced 9.9 from 119 ratings and 9.6 from 51 ratings respectively for the two latter dramas ; do people rate before watching, or have they had privilege to watch them in advance somewhere ? Just curious, ratings are a strange thing : people throw them around for very different reasons. Better not be too much influenced by them : what's poison to some is nectar for others, and there's no god-given scale to judge tastes. Fan or anti-fan driven ratings add to confusion.

Probably too much hype, like for JoL2, detract from total pleasure. I think the Lost You Forever S2 rating is probably about right. I'm invested in the show from season 1, so I'm definitely going to keep watching it (at ep 6 now). But I think the writing got a bit sloppy at this point of the drama. Some examples: - Xiang Liu is quickly changing his hair color back and forth, when he already established that he can't change it so easily because he actually has to dye it. - Unless I missed something, Cang Xuan completely forgot about his promise to give Xiang Liu a mountain after he became king. Then had the nerve to send someone else to demand that XL surrenders? Shouldn't that ring a bell, like oh wait, I owe him something. And did Xiang Liu also just forget about the mountain so quickly? - In S1 XL/FangFeng Bei is gradually progressing and maturing emotionally. Still not amazing but you can see the progression at least. Now suddenly he's regressed to all his old behaviors. Just seems like a ploy to drag out the plot and it's annoying. - TuShan Jing is on this mission to find out if the kid isn't his... like is this supposed to matter? First, he's already married. Second, the point is not that he had a kid, it's that his weak personality and poor judgement leave him vulnerable to these kinds of tricks. Is XiaoYao really supposed to change her mind just because the kid turns out not to be his (this time)? Overall I'm still sort of enjoying it, but I feel like every episode I'm yelling at the screen about some obvious plot hole at least twice lol.
Hi dear , actually the mountain wasn't for xl , it's just a place to bury his dead soldier's not an important thing to xL and not granted to give him as something he own ,it's a resting place for his soldiers so as if he went by (ok anyone from joining the mountain it's ok if it's from XL ) technically he own nothing so I don't thing that's need any more explanation as they settle it ...with the hair colour 😅 I mean he is a demon he must gained something that made him able to change it ,,,,about Tushan I think it's important for him to find he is not the father and the kid is not his not just because someone kid will be the heir but so he can get a reason to leave his fake wife and exposed her (she is trying to kill him btw so it's a matter of life too , she is working with his brother ) so he could go with Fml ......I think they cut a lot of scenes that may contain all that details ( I heard they had to do cutting not like they want it themselves ,who know maybe the gov rules as I notice they really made things hard for yang Zi and it's not the first or second time or even the third , it's really only with her )
The hair color thing... there are month or even years between the scenes. But that's never really made clear in this series. I wonder how anyone can understand the real Story with only this mix of scenes, without reading the book... It was already bad in season 1 and with the cutting of more scenes it got even worse in S2... Same with the change in attitude towards XY... If you read the book you will better understand his reasons.
@@LarifaMSC there are definitely examples that are much quicker. Like ep 6 when he took XY from the wedding as FangFeng Bei, then as soon as they arrived to the house, she's still in her wedding garb (so clearly it's the same day), but his hair is already white. But yeah, it does sound like they cut a lot of stuff unfortunately.
I think lost you forever cut too much and it’s not as great as I was hoping for as in the novel didn’t really do it for me as season 1 even tho more sad ending

I saw Lost You Forever 1... but it was a tortured will to finish the looooong drama.
Agree with you, It was somewhat good but 15 episodes in that village doing nothing was way too long and draggy, they should've made 2 season in one go.

I'm watching LYF2 n following it excitingly. It's more complicated n about politics n relationships. Overall, it's a great drama with great costume, scenes n great actresses n actors. Even the senior actors acted very well. There're also many moral values. Even the relationship of Xiaoyao n Jing talks about faithful love, responsibility n generosity. Hope the youngsters will learn something from the story. Love LYF2.
Lost you forever season 1 is far more better than season 2 . The rating is correct for season 2
In LYF 2, maybe because a lot of scenes were cut from 35 episodes to 23 episodes
Agreed S1 is much better, S2 is so boring and the storyline is stupid. I would rate it lower to about 6.0 instead of 6.6.
I found 2024 is the worst year for CDrama so far, nothing exciting. I ended up dropped a lot of them. The only one I liked the best for 2024 thus far is Angels fall sometimes. A good tear jerker.
I agree, S2 is so lackluster, it killed even my love/hype I had for the novel.
I believe that along with cut scenes, the gap between the two seasons and the spoiled parts of the story has had a huge impact on the suspense of the story and led it to be less attractive. But despite that, this is still a very quality product and remained my number one drama.

Hi, you withdrew your recom for upcoming "There's a fox in Hengmen" (Linjiang xian) ? I was going to thank you for drawing attention to it, although there's only an MV at the moment and a beautiful poster, no date yet for airing on iQiyi if I'm not mistaken. It looks long for a fairy tale (40x45'). Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng looks like an interesting pairing for that one. Anyway since you whetted my appetite, I'll probably give it a peek, whenever it hits screens.
Bai Lu is also featured in 2 other upcoming dramas : costume Moonlight Mystique and Northward, which looks like slice of life.
I had a look at iQiyi and was puzzled by the ratings there, which already announced 9.9 from 119 ratings and 9.6 from 51 ratings respectively for the two latter dramas ; do people rate before watching, or have they had privilege to watch them in advance somewhere ? Just curious, ratings are a strange thing : people throw them around for very different reasons. Better not be too much influenced by them : what's poison to some is nectar for others, and there's no god-given scale to judge tastes. Fan or anti-fan driven ratings add to confusion.

Next, well... I am not through with it yet, somewhat not wholehearted for it. Probably too much hype, like for JoL2, detract from total pleasure. Besides I most often root for the impossible, cursed, or despicable😅 guys since LYX's Runyu, so here, it's JC-T's character who's my bias, but it LASTs for too long, so I hope I won't have LOST interest forever by the end of it.😂

I think the Lost You Forever S2 rating is probably about right. I'm invested in the show from season 1, so I'm definitely going to keep watching it (at ep 6 now). But I think the writing got a bit sloppy at this point of the drama. Some examples:
- Xiang Liu is quickly changing his hair color back and forth, when he already established that he can't change it so easily because he actually has to dye it.
- Unless I missed something, Cang Xuan completely forgot about his promise to give Xiang Liu a mountain after he became king. Then had the nerve to send someone else to demand that XL surrenders? Shouldn't that ring a bell, like oh wait, I owe him something. And did Xiang Liu also just forget about the mountain so quickly?
- In S1 XL/FangFeng Bei is gradually progressing and maturing emotionally. Still not amazing but you can see the progression at least. Now suddenly he's regressed to all his old behaviors. Just seems like a ploy to drag out the plot and it's annoying.
- TuShan Jing is on this mission to find out if the kid isn't his... like is this supposed to matter? First, he's already married. Second, the point is not that he had a kid, it's that his weak personality and poor judgement leave him vulnerable to these kinds of tricks. Is XiaoYao really supposed to change her mind just because the kid turns out not to be his (this time)?
Overall I'm still sort of enjoying it, but I feel like every episode I'm yelling at the screen about some obvious plot hole at least twice lol.
Hi dear , actually the mountain wasn't for xl , it's just a place to bury his dead soldier's not an important thing to xL and not granted to give him as something he own ,it's a resting place for his soldiers so as if he went by (ok anyone from joining the mountain it's ok if it's from XL ) technically he own nothing so I don't thing that's need any more explanation as they settle it ...with the hair colour 😅 I mean he is a demon he must gained something that made him able to change it ,,,,about Tushan I think it's important for him to find he is not the father and the kid is not his not just because someone kid will be the heir but so he can get a reason to leave his fake wife and exposed her (she is trying to kill him btw so it's a matter of life too , she is working with his brother ) so he could go with Fml ......I think they cut a lot of scenes that may contain all that details ( I heard they had to do cutting not like they want it themselves ,who know maybe the gov rules as I notice they really made things hard for yang Zi and it's not the first or second time or even the third , it's really only with her )
The hair color thing... there are month or even years between the scenes. But that's never really made clear in this series. I wonder how anyone can understand the real Story with only this mix of scenes, without reading the book... It was already bad in season 1 and with the cutting of more scenes it got even worse in S2...
Same with the change in attitude towards XY... If you read the book you will better understand his reasons.
@@LarifaMSC there are definitely examples that are much quicker. Like ep 6 when he took XY from the wedding as FangFeng Bei, then as soon as they arrived to the house, she's still in her wedding garb (so clearly it's the same day), but his hair is already white.
But yeah, it does sound like they cut a lot of stuff unfortunately.
