I've had my Farberware Yosemite for about a year now. Had to get rid of my electric coffeemakers; super hard water and in six months my coffee tasted awful, no matter how often I cleaned the unit. I was buying a new one every year. This percolator makes the best coffee, on my stove-top, no need for electricity and the coffee always tastes great. Thank you for the instructions, yours was the vid I watched to learn how to use this percolator.
you all probably dont give a shit but does someone know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tips you can give me
@Mathias Hunter i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
This was soooo helpful! I got my percolator last year and could never really get the coffee right (was usually too weak). I gave up and put it away, until I watched your video. I now make a perfect pot of coffee every time! While it takes a bit longer to brew a pot (vs. a drip coffee maker) it is worth the extra wait time. Percolator, hands down, makes the most superior cup of coffee. I’m not as precise with how much coffee I use (don’t weigh on a scale). Basically, I grind a half cup of bean for a 10 cup pot and it’s perfect to my liking, which is bit on the bolder/darker side. Also, I have found that if you rinse the inside of the filter cup, no grounds leak through. I’ve never found coffee grounds in the bottom of the pot, or in the bottom of my cup. Thanks for the video!! Really helpful!!
Found one , brand new, in the trash in NYC. Guess someone got a wedding present they didn't want...Damn thing makes great coffee..it just takes a little patience and attention, compared to those automatic things. Your instructions ware the best. Thank you!
I bought this percolator and even after looking at the instructions..I had no inkling on how to use it..your video is a God send...so helpful..I even went online to Amazon and got the filters as well! Thanks so much
I just bought this as a backup for power outages. I can still light my gas stove with a match or lighter or just use my grill outside. Just wasn't sure how to use it. Thanks for the demo!
I just got the same percolator for this past Christmas. My Wife thought I was nuts when I asked for it. I’ve used the percolator, but mostly I make cowboy coffee with it. Just boil the coffee straight in the water for 7 minutes. When done, pour a little cold water down the spout and over the coffee. It settles the grounds to the bottom of the pot. Either way, it’s good to go old school every now and then and have coffee like my Grandpa made when I was a kid.
Wet your basket first before adding coffee helps with coffee fines getting, though. I sometimes take the smallest basket filter, I have a 6 cup pot, and fold it, cut a slight slit in the middle. Push it over the stem in the basket. You can wet the filter or not before adding coffee. I'm able to just fold the extra coffee paper filter over the grinds.
I have one of those. I love how you can just take it apart and chuck the entire thing in the dish washer. And percolator coffee I've piping hot and stays hot in my thermos all day long.
Finally, someone who turns the heat down when it starts to get color in it. THATS how to make perfect coffee!! I can smell it now... You are so right, it takes a bit to get used to zone in on your preferences but once you get there...yum
So, I just got one of these at a yard sale and was excited about using it. The first time I made it, it came out "just ok." The next few times it came out super watery, no matter how I did it. Finally figured out that, even though I washed the parts, I didn't realize coffee grounds had clogged the pump stand or whatever it's called. Cleared that and works like a dream. Thanks for the video, followed it step-by-step and am enjoying great coffee.
Thank you for your service. Just curious...is being a retired Colonel something to do with not patronizing Starbucks, or were you just stating 2 independent facts. Just wondering if there's something about them I should know.
I have the same percolator. The coffee is awesome! But, I replaced the plastic bubble with a glass one. It's more durable and authentic to what our grandparents used. I take my percolator camping along with my Colman stove. I'm A popular guy first thing in the morning!
I have been watching my friend's house and did not know how to make coffee out of this! Didn't even know this was a coffee maker at first! Thanks for the tutorial, now enjoying my delicious coffee!
Well, for me that is my cup of coffee. I have tried many brewing method. Percolator brewing or just using a regular cooking pot make the best coffee. Coffee need to be cooked and boiled with water to extract and bring the flavor and aroma out. Those are the best way to brew and enjoy my cups of coffee.
Seen your Vlog and ordered the same right away, ...Just had my first cup, Damm good coffee! Delicious, also I did the first batch without a filter, just wet the basket, no grinds at all in pot, just regular store bought coffee drip grinds, can’t wait till morning for second pot.
I found a perkulator at an estate sale that was from the 1950s it's electric and works wonderful makes the best coffee ever I use it everyday I can't imagine how much coffee has went through this machine
Put water in pot turn on stove add grinds place cover on put unit into pot.Saves time if water is heating while you jack around with the grinds! Been using one for decades
Just bought this Farberware percolator and will test it tomorrow. This video is amazing in detail and instructions. Best i have found. Thank you for making it look so easy.
I'm with you too Carl. Not a Starbucks fan. Had one of these at the cottage for years and loved it and the coffee it made. Been drinking drip for awhile but I need another one of these. Your vid convinced me to get one. Thanks very much!!
I just made my first pot in this Yosemite model & I have a gas stove. I didn't have paper filters but followed instructions & wet the basket before putting the coffee in it; it helps prevent grounds from slipping through. My instructions said medium-medium high to boil, then turn down to low-medium low, which I did. Wow, great coffee! I'm going to take it on a camping trip to use on my butane stove. Your video helped me to be sure I was setting it up properly. No more Keurig pods! Thank you!
If veteran employment is the goal, I can't see why Starbucks is so bad? www.foxbusiness.com/markets/starbucks-military-veteran-spouse-hiring But I guess Black Rifle Coffee have found a good way to advertise their brand outside of just making a product people want, just ironical that their "enemy" does what they do as well. Dragging politics into coffee is apparently a good sales pitch in your country. I'm glad the coffee I buy only focus on the quality of their product and not on anything else.
@@GeirEivindMork That is where you are wrong- during the 2016 election, Starbucks officially took the stance that they would NOT hire Veterans but instead hire illegal non citizens instead. It was Starbucks who made coffee political. And any business you patronize may be helping people to destroy your own country. Everything is political now if we want to survive!
@@MsRegina333 not instead. Not illegals. 10 000 refugees worldwide. Not just in USA. But in Starbucks the world over. With the focus on the personnel that helped us troops overseas. It is in the press release, might not have been mention by partisan hacks. It was in response to Trumps ban on people from Muslim majority countries.
I have an electric model. I was thinking about buying a stovetop model as well. I don't use a paper filter, but I don't really get any grounds till the pot is almost empty. One thing I can tell you imho, is even the good old Folgers or Maxwell House ain't too bad in a percolator. Great video, thanks for posting...
I so agree about Starbucks! I lived/worked in Rome for over 20 yrs and I really LOVE coffee. I've actually become rather a coffee snob. I love a good Espresso like Illy, but also a more mellow espresso, like Bustelo. I enjoy American coffee but only a rich Colombian. Seeing Starbucks in Italy really had me wondering WHY?? Must be for the iced, flavored coffees.. ? I got my son an electric percolator years ago which he enjoyed so much, but I don't remember the name of it. I decided to get an old fashioned percolator and your video convinced me the stainless is the way to go. Thankyou for sharing!
Thank you for the video. Exactly what I needed to use the same percolator that my partner brought to the relationship when he moved in. I’ve never used one before today. Fingers crossed!
This is one of the best reviews I’ve seen on TH-cam. Fine job! Now it’s time to open amazon back up and make my purchase. Before I leave-I have to suggest a slap for the scale. No way, never happen. You are a top rate reviewer for sure.
Really appreciate all the points you mentioned here to give us an idea of how to operate this percolator. Very thorough. I'm subscribed now. Thank you.
Thanks for making this video Carl. I was just thinking about how good the coffee was back in the day, and I wanted to check into brewing with a stovetop Coffee Percolator. I did a search and came upon your video. I also did not know what my wife and I paid for the Kuerig K-Cups! My goodness, those cups are 5 times what ground coffee costs. Anyway I looked on Amazon and this Faberware pot is highly recommended. So, I am going to buy it, and a carafe to keep the coffee hot. I am going to get some Eight O'clock Coffee to use for my first brew in the new Percolator. So, we are going old school for the taste and to save money, win win!
Don't throw that Keurig away---u can get reusable K-cups on Amazon. I have the K55 with reusable cups & it works great. That being said, Ckiefer has convinced me i need a Yosemite percolator & will get one on order ASAP...LOL
I have not thrown the Keurig away, and I do have the reusable cup. I enjoy the taste of the coffee from my Yosemite so much, I just do not use the single re-useable cup with the Keurig. I got my wife hooked on the fresh, hot, delicious coffee made the old fashioned way in the stove top perc. I use The coffee my parents and Grandparents used, good old Eight O'Clock coffee. I am so very pleased to have made this switch. I hope you enjoy your stove top perc Robert. I use 8 heaping spoons of ground coffee, and let the pot heat to a boil on medium heat. Once I see the water blooping up into the glass cap I turn my stove timer to 6 minutes, and it comes out perfect. When I want a stronger brew, I go for 7 minutes.
OMG! I bought this same one last week, I wanted one bc my dad always used on only he Had the old aluminum type, so I wanted the stainless steel version Supposed to be healthier lol But my first pot I wasn't too happy with ;( I was expecting to smell a great aroma and a great taste but I didn't , So here I am searching for hints and tips lol Thank you so very much😍 I'm going to try your tips!
@Karen Benavente, I hope you have figured out your percolator. It takes time to hit your sweet spot regarding amount of coffee and perk time. Once you figure it out though, boy what coffee!! Hope your are experiencing how good coffee can be.
Got the same percolator at a rummage sale , hate to admit it but I was pretty excited . Built with quality and some forethought . You video was just what I wanted to know . Thanks !
Thanks for the instructional video Carl. I just purchased this particular percolator from amazon and it should be at my doorstep by next week. Like you, I love my coffee and found that brewing coffee this way gives a better taste. Thanks, Enzo!
I have that same coffee pot! Like the "old school" approach from time to time. Also buy from the BRC guys too. "Gunship" is one smooth brew. Nice video - thanks! Pappy
Oh, you got me rolling in laughter....being all "scientific", having to weigh the amount of coffee per cup. Then....you go over. The punch line being...."but, it'll be ok" 🤣
Hi, my Grandma used Farberware for all her cooking pans too. Tableware, etc. Grandma is gone now and I miss her and how her home smelled. Anyways, everything is Faberware in my kitchen, including my toaster, pans, silverware, and everything I may have missed. I love my Faberware percolator and think of grandma"s kitchen and the sound it made. Now my kitchen beats to the sound of real coffee. lol
As a chemist, your scale is toast when you are pressing down on the basket to prevent grounds from entering the perk tube. Take the basket off of your scale while applying pressure with your fingers
From beginning college organic chemistry, the dissolution of caffeine (bitter or acidic component in coffee or tea) is a function of time. From the moment your coffee gets wet with hot water, 6 minutes is pretty safe time limit in order to avoid most all bitterness. If you like stronger acidic or more bitter coffee go on up in timing to 8-9 minutes. If you want a really caffeinated coffee, go on up. It is controlled by timing. The Strength of your coffee should be adjusted by the proportion of coffee to water instead of timing. Or use a different depth of roast (I combine light roast where the fruity notes are with medium roast). But timing is the key to controlling bitterness. Also your pot should not be perking too fast or the water will stay in contact too long, sitting inside & on top of the basket. You want a steady amount dripping on through. A nice steady perk on medium is best. Also as soon as it is done, remove the basket because the -caffeine emitting soaked coffee will still drip into your good coffee. I fill a very large thermos. We drink what's left in the pot. The thermos keeps it warm without overcooking it & ruining all the beautiful top notes in the flavor. For more flavor (and less bitterness) roast your own coffee. You can keep them for 3-5 days. The flavor profile changes over these days but all of them are superior to grocery or pre-packaged coffee imo. I use hot air popper with a foil thing to prevent the beans from hopping out. Or a cast iron skillet which requires constant stirring. There are expensive gizmos for home roasting but all of them are overpriced imo. I use a Coleman stovetop/camping perk. And Farberware electric ones. I hate Keurig & drip methods. French press tastes good imo. But I dont like the mess & prefer a larger quantity
I think we just became best friends! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels out over different brew methods and has several makers! Plus I love BR Coffee! Cheers!
My Granddads were cowboys in the 19teens and twenties and remembered Arbuckle's Coffee. The way it was made on the trail included spring water, a pot and a dirty sock.
lol, I was hoping it was only your timer going off but realized mine too after you turned off yours! :) I was trying to make chicory coffee on my new FARBERWARE PCM, exactly what u have. TFS
Glass top rules. I found my old percolator when I cleaned out storage. I have not used it in 20 years. It still looks great. It always made the best tasting coffee.
man I knew id like ya in the first few minutes. I use the same rig every morning, I just don't use the filters. I find if I grind coarse and wet the basket before I put the ground in I don't lose any in the pot.
yeah I have a wooden box type hand grinder that I keep set to a coarse grind, works great for the perculator or a french press that I use for a smaller pot. The farberware yosemite is a great perculator but I wish it had a glass window instead of plastic.
Starbucks sucks I agree. I drink my workplace coffee it's free and I can make it super strong or regular. I agree I'll do 711 or ampm before Starbucks plus their stuff is FILLED WITH CALORIES that I dint need lol
This little pot makes the best tasting (low acid) coffee! I ended up getting rid of my Keurig and Mr. Coffee -- and makes my kitchen smell wonderful. The extra time to prep is well worth it. I'm never going back to electric drip again. In case of a power outtage I'll just make it on my propane grill, outside. 😉☕😋👍. P.S. I pour the extra coffee left over into a thermos and put it in the fridge to either make cold coffee or re-heat the next day. Either way, it still tastes rich and delicious.
Thanks Ckiefer! I appreciate the review/walk-through. Very helpful and informative - and you sold me on you being a fellow non-Starbucks guy! Keep up the fight and the great work!
People think the filter is only to stop the grinds from coming through to your pot of coffee. No, all of the heavy oils and other compounds or filtered out of your coffee because those things aren't good for our health. You need to filter all coffee.
I have a question you may be able to answer. I have this pot and it does make great coffee however, my issue is about the paper filters. I've tried the fold overs but I still get grinds in my basket with this pot. I never had this problem using the same fold over filters with my glass stove top percolator which seems to have a larger basket. I would lift the filter out and it would come out leaving no grinds at all behind. When I switched to Farberware Yosemite pot, I always end up with grinds left in the basket although only a small amount which defeats the purpose of using a filter.I am trying to accomplish easier cleaning of the basket without throwing grinds down my sink for obvious reasons. I also like using a filter because it reduces the amount of cholesterol in the final product. Wetting the basket hasn't made a difference. All in all, I love this pot and the coffee it makes. Thanks for your help
Great Vid. Of course if you're truly running the BRCC grounds through it, you can't miss. Thanks for the review. Looks as though these are out of production and in somewhat limited supply, so I'll be get'n one shipped in pronto. Be Blessed!
I'm shocked at how much better my coffee tastes compared to my Keurig. Same brand coffee, but the percolator process brings out much more flavour compared to the 5 second brew time of the Keurig.
I loved the Keurig when it first came out, but over time realized it was only the convenience that i liked... the coffee itself is average at best. I even like a drip coffe maker better now, but nothing beats a percolator or french press for me
I didn’t know the 1970s were the olden days 😀. The mid 70s is when drip coffee makers popularity grew rapidly. Most of the people I knew used electric or stovetop percolators till the early 1980s.
Old post. But the European standard for a cup of coffee is 5 ounces, not a baker's 8 ounces. Try one rounded tablespoon per 5 ounce cups of water. You can adjust from there. Should be about 7 grams, Google "Coffee golden rule", With a gas pot, heat water to a boil, once perking turn to middle low. Perk for 7 minutes. It's best to adjust the coffee over other things if you need. Don't trust pot markings. Our pot is off by a good deal. The top 6 cup marking is over the holes in the spout. Weight it or measure cups of water. How a pot should work, the pot reduces from boiling to simmer, on a gas pot, the dome at the bottom attached to the steam, boils water, it's the reason middle low heat is used. On an electric, i don't know how the water is controlled.
@PurpleSwan That is not the problem where you live. The problem is when instructions say a cup, but you have no clue as to what unit the manufacturer is using. Sometimes, it is from the country of manufacturing. A cup can be 4, 5, 6, 8 ounces. I just purchased a US stove percolator, and it says on the website that we use the European standard that has been in place for decades as a cup unit, 5 ounces. I have an old US brand, 45 year old, camp percolator, and 6 ounces, which is a cup. Using 5 is easier, 5, 10, 15, etc. of water. 3 x 5 fills a Yeti cup. 2 is 10 ounces, I have a pour over it's 350 ml, about 11.85 ounces. I prefer units of 5 with the percolator when wanting to go up from 3 to 12 cups. It's easy to multiple in your head the coffee you need in grams. I have seen some bad reviews of percolators simply because someone is using the wrong unit for water, for water to coffee ratio because they are defaulting to 8 ounces. The complain, thin, watery coffee. Well no kidding.
1st time making REAL coffee.. Decided the 3 in 1 wasn't doing me any favors healthwise.. Video was awesome and I'm listening to the gentle boil as great coffee vapors fill the kitchen! 1st tasting to you Sir! Happy 2018! :-D
I like you already. You don't like Starbucks either, XD I just got my very 1st percolator - arrived yesterday from Amazon. It's a 10 cupper. I have my decades old Mr. Coffee with a dust cover on a top shelf - haven't used it because my apartment is so very small - no counter space to speak of. I've had to watch several YT videos before I even got close to them explaining in the simplest of terms, how to measure coffee to water (haven't done it in ages). Looking forward to learning more. I love coffee. I've been going out to Am/Pm for their cinnamon / hazelnut coffee. Ciao.
Very nice presentation, very complete, thanks a lot! May i ask you why do you use a paper filter? Since you wait for a little, all coffee grains goes down to the bottom, so i cannot see any reason to filter. Coffee contains precious "oil" that stays in the filter. Secondly, for your french press, may i suggest you to try this: put half of the hot water in, then drop the coffee on surface, wait for it to be wet, then put the rest of the water up to the very top, then you can see the gaz bubbling, so take some tool and mix the foam in a circular motion, making one vortex, until that foam becomes clear. Then, after some minutes of infusion, you can pour one cup of coffee before you press. All the foam will fall into the cup; this is what you want because if you don't do this, the foam and the coffee grains that it contains will obstruct the filter of the press, making it hard to press. If you are like me and love your coffee strong. I also warmly recommand you the turkish coffee if you never tried. You will need an "ibrik". Thanks again, and cheers! Check this out: th-cam.com/video/I5PtWraNRTY/w-d-xo.html
Ken Reather also, some people add just a little cold water after boiling to make the grounds sink. They also leave the filter basket out and just boil water with grounds right in it.
Guy, dittos on the coffee mug there. Bro, support your roaster of choice, BUT, you must get down to manually grinding beans for each cup. Im grinding 4T for 20oz of dark french roast in a Hario MSS-1 driven by a cordless drill slow on low gear with a 7mm socket. I still use an electric Perk for convenience and consistency. It took me several months to get to this point but Im making the best dam coffee I swear. Recently tried some pre ground based on a good review I read recently. Crap. It had a chemical taste. My G7 Asian instant coffee is still better. Actually Folgers and MH is not bad if fresh. Ill keep working on it. Also, look into adding a teaspoon of chickory with the grounds. The trick is to use a coarse grind and enough grounds to get flavor without over extracting. Overextraction happens when the grounds get so saturated they release the acids and oils. Pour overs are popular for this reason. TMI, sorry.
You just inspired me to buy a percolator! You are so sweet and I love the way you enjoy your cup of joe! God Bless!

If you wet the basket before you put the coffee in there will be no grounds in your cup. No need for filters!

The best coffee!
Tastes like home❤ 9:12
I think percolated coffee is the best. Enjoy.
Have one from the sixties, still works great and fast. Mine is Electric. Love Farberware.
Great info on times and tips! Thanks.
Thanks man. I'll be using it for the first time tomorrow morning, and that's something to look forward to.
Great instructional video (great coffee mug) thank you!
Thanks for those instructions....I lost mine and looked all over the internet...that was great.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words. Glad I could help. Happy perking!
Thank you! I'm looking for a way to make a great cup(s) of coffee on our next camping trip, you convinced me to buy one!
This is one of the best reviews I’ve seen on TH-cam. Fine job! Now it’s time to open amazon back up and make my purchase. Before I leave-I have to suggest a slap for the scale. No way, never happen. You are a top rate reviewer for sure.
I agree overkill for making coffee. Thats what the lines in the basket are for.
Really appreciate all the points you mentioned here to give us an idea of how to operate this percolator. Very thorough. I'm subscribed now. Thank you.
I just bought one myself I was getting tried of the mr coffee pots I remember my parents having one
I am definitely getting me one of those, thanks for the review. It doesn't matter how long it takes when is about good coffee.
Thanks for watching. Glad you found it helpful. Enjoy!
OMG! I bought this same one last week,
I wanted one bc my dad always used on only he
Had the old aluminum type, so I wanted the stainless steel version
Supposed to be healthier lol But my first pot I wasn't too happy with ;(
I was expecting to smell a great aroma and a great taste but I didn't ,
So here I am searching for hints and tips lol
Thank you so very much😍 I'm going to try your tips!
@Karen Benavente,
I hope you have figured out your percolator.
Thanks !
Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad it was helpful
Thanks for the instructional video Carl. I just purchased this particular percolator from amazon and it should be at my doorstep by next week. Like you, I love my coffee and found that brewing coffee this way gives a better taste.
Thanks, Enzo!
Enzo T Thanks for watching, and glad I could help
I just picked up a vintage one from the thrift store (I have an electric one also) I LOVE IT!
Great video..received my percolator today and ready to make some delish coffee.
Angela k thanks for watching. hope you get great coffee out of it
Got my Faberware percolator today. Can't wait till morning ‼️🧡
Just received my percolator for Christmas yesterday! Can't wait to use it!
I have that same coffee pot! Like the "old school" approach from time to time. Also buy from the BRC guys too. "Gunship" is one smooth brew. Nice video - thanks! Pappy
It is 1/4/24. I just bought this [similar] Farberware stainless steel 8 cup coffee pot for Christmas. I love the cawfee. It is delish. Hi from NYC. ✌☕
Thanks for the tip
Cheers!
BTW, try NM Piñon Coffee. That's my favorite brew then BRCC AK-47
Always good to make new friends. LOL. Thanks for watching. I have tried and do like the NM Pinon coffee. :)
My Granddads were cowboys in the 19teens and twenties and remembered Arbuckle's Coffee. The way it was made on the trail included spring water, a pot and a dirty sock.
Great video. Thanks for showing how you do yours and sharing it. Bless!
Thanks. Very informative and to the point ☝️👍🏻🙂
lol, I was hoping it was only your timer going off but realized mine too after you turned off yours! :) I was trying to make chicory coffee on my new FARBERWARE PCM, exactly what u have. TFS
Glass top rules. I found my old percolator when I cleaned out storage. I have not used it in 20 years. It still looks great. It always made the best tasting coffee.
Enjoyed watching your Video, we have a electric percolator that we had for years , still love the coffee it makes.
I have an electric also..it makes great coffee
Seriously informative. Thank you for all your tips!
man I knew id like ya in the first few minutes. I use the same rig every morning, I just don't use the filters. I find if I grind coarse and wet the basket before I put the ground in I don't lose any in the pot.
Trey Gilmore Thanks for watching and thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot.
Ckiefer or maybe just an idea if you're ever out of filters. great video man.
Thanks for the tip!
yeah I have a wooden box type hand grinder that I keep set to a coarse grind, works great for the perculator or a french press that I use for a smaller pot. The farberware yosemite is a great perculator but I wish it had a glass window instead of plastic.
rod smolter local hardware store sells glass perc knobs for a few bucks.
Starbucks sucks I agree. I drink my workplace coffee it's free and I can make it super strong or regular. I agree I'll do 711 or ampm before Starbucks plus their stuff is FILLED WITH CALORIES that I dint need lol
I don’t like the plastic view window, but one with glass instead, perhaps look at garage sales
Farberware sells replacement parts for their percolators, including the glass viewing bubble.
Great tips. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Ckiefer! I appreciate the review/walk-through. Very helpful and informative - and you sold me on you being a fellow non-Starbucks guy!
Keep up the fight and the great work!
Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful
Just got mine love it
This was really enjoyable. I like this dude.
Thanks, Paul
People think the filter is only to stop the grinds from coming through to your pot of coffee. No, all of the heavy oils and other compounds or filtered out of your coffee because those things aren't good for our health. You need to filter all coffee.
Great video, was planning on buying that exact model! Thanks man! Oh, and awesome coffee cup! III%
Great video thanks for the tips and directions just ordered the same one. Thumbs Up and Subscribed. Stay Safe.
Put a BoBa tea straw over the stem for adding grounds, its wide to fit.
Boil the water in a separate vessel or an electric kettle. It goes so much faster! Especially if you have the style of perc that has a smaller bottom.
Just bought mine. I can’t wait until morning. I read somewhere that if you add a little salt to the ground it takes away some of the bitterness.
Pro tip - I cut a golf tee to length to set in the center hole of the basket to keep grounds from falling in. Easier than holding your finger over it.
Great Vid. Of course if you're truly running the BRCC grounds through it, you can't miss. Thanks for the review.
Looks as though these are out of production and in somewhat limited supply, so I'll be get'n one shipped in pronto.
Be Blessed!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy
Just got mine to replace an expensive Keurig that's acting the fool. I love it.
I even like a drip coffe maker better now, but nothing beats a percolator or french press for me
That was amazing.
I didn’t know the 1970s were the olden days 😀. The mid 70s is when drip coffee makers popularity grew rapidly. Most of the people I knew used electric or stovetop percolators till the early 1980s.
Haha! Thanks for watching. I grew up in the 80s, and it seems so long ago to me🤣🤣
Olden days? Oh yeah, just push the filter down the tube. No need for the fancy folding & cutting. Olden days style. Looked like good coffee, though.
Old post.
But the European standard for a cup of coffee is 5 ounces, not a baker's 8 ounces.
Try one rounded tablespoon per 5 ounce cups of water. You can adjust from there. Should be about 7 grams, Google "Coffee golden rule",
With a gas pot, heat water to a boil, once perking turn to middle low.
I do not live in Europe so I don't make or drink my coffee in Europe, either.
@PurpleSwan
That is not the problem where you live.
Happy 2018! :-D
Add a small tsp of cinninnim to the grinds and it has a really nice light taste
Thanks for that tip, I am going to try it!
Love your Black Rifle Coffee mug!
Thanks for watching,Marianna
If you want a real kick ass coffee mug you must try Zereo Foxtrot.mugs , Also can be used as a hammer in a pinch to crush the black rifle mugs.
I like you already. You don't like Starbucks either, XD
I just got my very 1st percolator - arrived yesterday from Amazon.
Ciao.
Thanks for watching, Carol. Enjoy the percolator
Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts overrated and way overpriced.
True
Great video. I was debating whether or not to buy one of these exact percolators on Amazon and now I'm sold
RT 78 Thanks!!, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Ckiefer Thanks!
Check this out:
th-cam.com/video/I5PtWraNRTY/w-d-xo.html
Forget the fiter and just wet the basket before dumping cffee in.
Ken Reather also, some people add just a little cold water after boiling to make the grounds sink. They also leave the filter basket out and just boil water with grounds right in it.
Nice coffee cup!
TMI, sorry.
Going to buy that set up. Thanks.
Very nice percolator. Use natural brown filters they not bleach and are healthier.
Best coffee ever!!
