PS Farberware says to wet the inside of basket before putting in the groundsband you'll have few grounds. They're right.

I have that model and absolutely love it! Makes great coffee and I highly recommend it. If u get grinds in the coffee don’t put a Paper filter In basket better tasting without it! Just pour some cold water a couple of tablespoons into spout after finished perking and grinds will drop to bottom of pot.

8 cup giving to us faberware coffee taste great grind my own beans. When I was a kid my parents had an old percolator my mom would just dump coffee grounds in the bottom of it break one egg crumble the shells up and it went on the ground she would stir it with a fork to make it all wet and just pour boiling water on top of the 3/4 of the way and slightly boil it for about 8 or 10 min. Fillet the rest of the way with hot water pour a little cold water on top ground sink to the bottom my friends always said it was the best coffee they ever had it’s called Swedish coffee

Here's a great thing to add. I mix a tablespoon of Vietnamese (only great flavoring) World Wide Botanicals organic Cimmamon from Amazon to the grounds and you too may get hooked on the flavor too. The funny thing is I always thought it was the camping atmosphere back then that made my coffee great.. Was shocked learning my Italian automatic replacement went up to $180 and decided to buy a Farberware 8 when the 12 was too large. Shock! It wasn't the outdoor but the percolator. Interestingly I don't ever get that sour off balance PH type heart burn in my stomach as I had occasionally which I then needed cider vinegar and water to neutralize. I guess that means the coffee oil that comes with this style of cooking is good for me and maybe you too.

My favorite coffee is Gevalia Traditional Roast. I prefer a mild roast coffee and the Gevalia is extremely smooth!

That’s a good one. I personally use the GSI glacier 9 and or 12.

I had a nine (blue ceramic-y) when i lived in NY, used it for years...then it got stolen, we moved to FLA and i never replaced it. Great for open flame/firepit.

@@LittleHouseofBeans I’ve got a couple of those too. What’s funny about the conical shaped ones is they’re patterned after coffee boilers. With a boiler, the coffee grounds are added directly to the pot. The conical shape lets the user pour off most of the coffee without pouring out grounds because they settle into the bottom of the pot. Only when the pot is really low do the grounds pour out with the ‘dregs.’
The glacier ones are all stainless stovetop only models similar to yours functionally.

@@LittleHouseofBeans I may be wrong but it’s my impression the Light Roast has more caffeine and the Dark Roast has less due to longer roast time.

I spy a Rule #7 mug. My favorite coffee is from Quills. The Inkwell blend is solid but you can't go wrong with Quills. Shout out from Tarpon Springs. Are you in the Bay area?

Not to crazy about the spring . Kind of flimsey. The rest of the pot seems pretty sturdy.
