Multiple references to AVGN and even an inspiration credit? 2020 truly is the strangest year. I remember being in middle school and trashing Chris for ripping off AVGN and what not, but ironically I discovered Chris first. Boy, I was a dumb kid. I feel like I recall one of my hate comments even getting a reply from Chris at some point. 😂 All jokes aside, you’ve always produced some high quality content and I thoroughly enjoyed this blast from the past. I hope to see more from you Chris!
We all have to evolve during our growing up and often can feel embarrassed looking back on what we did at younger years.
Any irate gamer review you felt showed improvement before this comeback? To me, his 2 parter on the NES AND SNES Mario educational games in 2010 showed he began improving his craft
No you were right as a kid he totally ripped off AVGN. that being said its ok to have a store brand AVGN its just more to watch
@@JohnGoetzGaming Yeah, and that's pretty much what Irate Gamer has been, with that being a dollar store brand version of A.V.G.N. His new reviews have been mostly okay, even if the Nerd will always be king when it comes to that though.

Never thought he'd ever get celebrities to appear on his show at any point, which was a nice touch. That being even if I doubt any physical ones will ever happen, like they have with A.V.G.N. however.

bwkermadecs I really can’t stand the people that James have on his show, it’s not about his gaming experience, the skits are terrible. I don’t watch AVGN for the skits, he breaks his stuff and beating up bugs bunny. It’s like trying to be more of low budget film project.
This is the issue I have with people saying Irate Gamer is just a rip off of AVGN. Look at this (made up) example.

Do they honestly think that AVGN was the first person to make a video complaining about something? Even if he was, does that mean that nobody else is allowed to make a video complaining?
Is every musician required to make music that is a completely new genre so that they aren't "copying" the first guy that made music in the genre?
What gets me, is that the claim is meaningless, but people act like it has meaning. Nothing is ever completely new, everything is simply a modification of something that someone else already did.
Should all the companies that sell things that make fires, be demonized because some caveman millions of years ago invented how to make fire, so all those companies are ripping off that caveman?
How about bottled water, are all companies selling bottled water, copying the first company that put water in a container and sold it? Does it even matter?

Love the AVGN references. Hopefully youtube has matured enough that people can enjoy both Irate and AVGN without trolling and attacking the other.
I know this wont be a popular opinion but people give irate gamer a lot of shit for a kinda avgn copy he does a great job and puts in an effort that some game review channels dont. All in all im glad to see you going back to your roots chris can't wait to see more.

I was a fan of BOTH of you growing up and it WAS sad to see the Irate Gamer fizzle out, but what a surprise to see him return! Here's hoping you have even more success the second time around! Maybe if you could get James to cameo as the Nerd in an episode maybe that will appease some of the haters still remaining from the early days lol May give you a chance to finally move past all that for good!

I gotta admit seeing myself show up here was the LAST thing I'd have ever expected, let alone all those faces, but it did make me laugh.
Then I looked at the photo you used and laughed even harder, I laughed even harder at the damn thing.
Listen Chris, in the past I talked A LOT of shit concerning your vids(and in reality, who the hell was I to talk about someone else), but the reality is- you knew what the hell you were doing, and even I can accept that while somewhat campy and corny your work isn't half bad on a whole. What I recommend, is you do your own thing, and forget about trying to do this on screen skit crap that honestly?
It wore out it's welcome ages ago. Most people tolerate it, simply to get to the good stuff, and that's a knowledge and interesting things to say about the game/media in question. A fantastic return! Super cool that you got Ernie "Winston Zedmore" Hudson in here. Yeah remember this turd of a game, I remember renting the sequel game "Ghostbusters 2" from my local video store as a kid, and yeah that game sucks too. Then I came across this game at my local "K-Mart" in the later 90's. At first I thought it was the game I rented, however it was based on the first movie. And looking at it again here, this game makes the NES "Ghostbusters 2" look like "Super Castlevania 4" on the SNES. Also great parody of "Avengers: Endgame", great to see tributes to a lot of missing TH-cam Gamers, and having some clever AVGN references. I was here for the premier, but two obstacles got in the way, my internet went on the fritz, and had to get some pizza, so now I've seen the parts I've missed. Again great episode, one and one more thing...GHOST JIZZ!!!

So cool that Ernie Hudson's in this. Winston is soo underrated. I still have my Winston Real Ghostbusters action figure, played with it all the time. On a side note, check out The Real Ghostbusters arcade game, it was pretty fun and never ported to consoles.
Ernie Hudson is on 'cameo'...a website where 'celebrities' will send personal video messages for a substantial amount of money. Usually a parent, or friend, will pay to have a scripted happy birthday message sent to someone, by their favorite famous hero! For example, I think Vince Neil from motley crue, charges $500 for a minute long video message. So basically...Chris paid Ernie Hudson to send a cameo, to himself, to use in his review. And thumbnailed it like they're doing a collaboration of sorts. Cheap tactic in my opinion... To each their own right?
