I love how this guy goes always an extra mile for his videos, like the cameos, the nice facts, the multi platform coverage and the nice and fun edits and the hilarious skits , and 26 minutes of goodness, and that intro was pure fire!

OG youtubers keeping the OG style. While most of the OG guys quit or moved onto other styles (as referenced in the early episodes of this season), Chris has stayed pretty consistent in his style and I respect that.

I'm constantly hearing people say this tundra critic is the most 2010 TH-cam or as an installed I'm just like but that's like really good 2010 youtubers like objectively better.I grew up when everything was becoming a first person shooter but I went back and played the old platformers on the N64 and super Nintendo let me tell you there are a lot more fun I think 10 or 20 years from now kids will think the same way about pre 2012 TH-cam.

Digging the new intro! Also, that's so awesome that you got Zack Galligan (AKA "Billy") to make a cameo in this episode! Regarding "Gremlins 2" on NES, it's definitely a hidden gem, but yeah, the later stages are VERY frustrating at times.
Wow ! Irate you never cease to amaze me. Followed you a long time and your passion is just so great to watch. It really shines trough in your videos. Some other gigants has gone a little stagnant. You! You just level Up everytime it seems. These cameos is really amazing too, half your time must be finding these guys.

One of my earliest memories was listening to a record of Gremlins. It was kind of like a book on vinyl, so to speak. Yeah, this was in the 80s, but somehow this movie was made into an audio book on vinyl.
Those damn books were scary! The narrator took everything so seriously, and the humor in the movies was pretty much removed! I was terrified of Gremlins for decades because of those books and records! Looking back though, the art in them was REALLY good!

I was thinking that too! I've never personally played that, but it looked like it was really good and played like most other LEGO games (which is pretty solid).
That new intro is freaking amazing. How can anyone not love The Gremlins movies? I played the heck out of the Nes game back in the day. Not so much the other versions though. And even though Sunsoft made hits and stinkers their soundtracks were always killer in every Nes game they made. Awesome to see Zach in this too. Cheers Chris!

I'm surprised that James Rolfe hasn't reviewed these games on AVGN yet. Although he and Mike Matei played the Gremlins 2 game on an episode of James and Mike Mondays.

@@jakejoker1988 Really, you all are just upset that he's not the same as he was from back then when you clearly know he's a father now, raising 2 daughters. Had it not been for James Rolfe, many of these gamers (including Irate Gamer) you enjoy on TH-cam wouldn't even exist. Because back then when we had interest in video games, we'd only watch boring as hell interviews instead of shows today like "Ready Player One" and the like.
I really enjoyed this episode. It might be one of my favorite of all time, actually. I kind of hate these cameos that people pay for because they always come off as so cheap and disingenuous but in this case I think it actually worked out really well because you asked the right questions. I loved his personal story about seeing himself in the game, and how frustratingly hard Gremlins II was....a good game by the way. Your china town opener was also great, and I don’t know, I just really felt like you hit every beat perfectly in this one. Loved it!
Hey Chris, stumbled upon your channel again after many years. Congrats on making videos again. I won't lie, I was a hater back in the day but upon watching your videos again I can honestly say that I enjoy them, especially anything that has to do with video game history. I think it's clear now that you were not acting maliciously way back when and were only trying to take advantage of an opportunity that you were given. That kind of stuff is commonplace on TH-cam now, you'd be crazy NOT to capitalize on being featured. Sorry for the blind hate, and good luck on your future videos!

Gremlins 2 on NES is 1 of my all time fav games. The music and controls are an absolute blast... my only complaint is that the game is not long enough. A few more stages and a couple more bosses would of made it perfect

Gremlins 2 for NES is the best Gremlins game by far. It's excellent, and looks like it could be on a 16-bit console.

The Irate Gamer must have a lot of money if he's able to get actors from cameo.
To be fair, most of them are like...actors who long out lived their relevance. While respected, I don’t think they’re in much position to charge any legal fees, not big ones anyway. If I’m wrong can someone correct me?
@@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 some of the people on Cameo are actually reasonably priced and some of them charge insane prices. Zach is only $40. Ernie Hudson is $135. Peter Weller is $250. I could be wrong but I think Zach is probably the cheapest cameo that Chris bought.

Hey Chris, is it still possible to buy the Irate Gamer season DVD's? I noticed they're gone from Etsy, I was wondering if production stopped for good or if it's just temporary. Ever thought about doing a blu-ray? I'd buy it.
Beating the game boy game as a kid was a big pride of mine.
Of course I had to learn the obstacles by heart, but sometimes you'd randomly find a trick that would make things easier.
Like for the 1st boss for example (shown in the video): just stay on the 4th block starting from the right and keep pushing the button. You shouldn't get too much hits, and if your life bar is high enough, the fight should be over pretty quick!
Great review Chris. Really a lot of fun. Just as a By the By.. the music in the NES Gremlins 2 is NOT movie based. If you watch other reviewers (like 'Movies to Video Games Reviews' and the similar) they compare the music. Its in the vain of and similar but definitely not the movie theme.
Sunsoft does not pay to get the rights to the music from the movie for their games. They come up with their own awesome sounding music that is in the style but definitely not the movie theme when all is said and done. But great review. I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for more!
Great intro, but man this episode is even better. Stinger episode was fun and laid back, this one has everything best from Irate Gamer. You would think that after AVGN fall in quality and laziness, fake rage and tired acting with boring shots, IG return might go this way, but no... Here, it gets better. The only nitpick I have is game genie rant and acknowledging those people calling you a hack for it - you play the game however you want it and you still have more skill than IGN, Polygon or other site reviewer. I wonder why those people don't jump on those hacks and instead eat up all their 10/10 scores with special journalist difficulty setting, to the point that they have to defend the reviewer and the score, when actual good review should stand by its own.
Great episode and it was worth the wait. For something of this quality, I can wait a month or two and I think everyone will agree, especially when you can feel by watching it that YOU have fun making it, making this episode even more enjoyable to watch and without overall negativity or nihilism making those watching feel depressed or angry.

I like to correct you on something. Gremlins Gizmo vs. Stripe was released in the states and not just a European regional exclusive. I should know this because I own the gba north America game.

So many Gremlins games that I never heard of before! Possibly for good reason in some of the cases, anyway. The NES one always holds a dear place in my heart. Sunsoft games in general had some of the best soundtracks the NES had and also tended to be more difficult than a lot of other games and this was no exception. Might have to dig my copy out and give it another run!

Actually, David Hayter got himself into trouble with Konami because he used to say goofy and funny things in his Solid Snake voice just to make the fans happy, but after he did a Cameo where he quoted some Mortal Kombat line or said something about Mortal Kombat in the Snake voice, it was shown at a legit video game announcement event and people thought Snake was confirmed for MK, and that really angered Konami, so he's reduced to only doing happy birthdays and congratulations and whatnot. Same with Christopher Randolph. He made a political statement in Octacon's voice and that didn't go too well either.

Great video! I remember the Amiga version being fun, too. It was really hard and I think similar to the C64 version but with better graphics and sound. Do you have any plans to review Amiga games? It was a great system with so many good (and bad) games!

As weird as it may sound, I think a good idea for a 3rd "Gremlins" film is to have the monsters kidnap Gizmo & force food down his gizzard after midnight & becomes a Gremlin himself & the rest of the plot is Billy figuring out a way to reverse the process, but that's just my goofy idea. ;p

Do you talk about the game? Because the first movie is definitely better. I have a lot of nostalgia for Gremlins 2, but it is a flawed movie in its core. Not even Robert Picardo can change that.

You get more cameos than AVGN and Nostalgia Critic, not even AVGN has ever gotten Zack Galligan and Ernie Hudson despite how many videos of Ghostbusters and Gremlins he has done!
