Wait, that's Vivian from the campaign? Why wasn't this established any better?? She was by far one of the best parts of the campaign and having her join the Bureau suits her so well. I really wish they would have added radios or video files of the extra characters interviewing for the Bureau or add some bios for them. Overall, awesome vid Rizzo!
I like the contrast between Zelinski and Blundell maps. It makes it a more dramatic story, like the contrast of Joker's insanity and Batman's call to concrete action.
To me Zelinski is the best. The environmental story telling, the mystery to the lore, and the gameplay being approachable (except Tranzit…..), I remember zombies being more badass and fun with him at the helm. To me Blundel only really did that with Origins and Mob of the Dead and then that’s it.
I tried the map yesterday on xbox... idk how to feel about it honestly i just wish we had the survival maps unlocked right away, I mean we did actually pay money for those
Jak Mockery to complete the Easter egg and have it count you have to do it in a public match, but to actually play the survival map versions of the chapters you have to play them in custom matches
Rizzo you’ve done it again man, another great review video. Only thing I have to say is the EE can be completed in custom match. Cameron Dayton said two weeks ago in sledgehammers weekly stream update that it’s always been possible to get the cutscene in custom match.

I think that the tortured path is the worst of the ww2 maps ( I know there are 3 maps but overal it’s not that good ). 1 day later: I love the maps now 😂😂
Thanks for the video, rizzo, I really enjoyed it. I suppose I'll throw in my two cents in regards to The Tortured Path as a solo zombies player. I will say, I've tried to throw myself into the maps, and they are fun enough to play on their own, they even give me hearthstone tavern brawl vibes in a weird sort of way. I'm also big on easter eggs, so I was happy to find out that the cut-scene can be obtained in a solo custom game, although it had to be done with playing all 3 maps back to back, and having to restart if you fail no matter which point is reached, which I'm not sure how to feel about. I consider myself to be a fairly good zombies player, and I know people have completed the easter eggs solo to obtain the cut-scene, but with the amount of variables it takes, I'm beginning to doubt I can do it, and I'm not sure if I'll end up being pushed away from the game, or at least the maps, due to this. So I can't agree more when you talk about how this map is neglecting solo/casual players, I wouldn't consider myself a casual only because I really only go for EEs, but then again as a solo player I feel that The Tortured Path might just not be for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wowzers, Sledgehammer has been consistently good with their zombie maps. If the last DLC is as good as the previous ones, this might be the most flawless zombie map streak we have seen in CoD. (even if they are not Origins or MOTD levels of quality) also, yes. I want a new B.A.T Agent skin!!
Their maps have been pretty good so far, but they barely do anything to support the mode between each DLC. There are so many issues that need to be addressed and SHG hasn't done much regarding them. They don't really respond to feedback very often.
+Conner Caraway Mechanics are fine, my only problem with them is that they could expand upon them, and make them even better. Don't you wish we could have something better than the best we've seen so far? And of course you add that stupid LOL at the end, smh.
Great review as always. I genuinely love this dlc, and i havent actually liked any of the WW2 maps or story or characters since after the content on launch. I think part of it is i dont feel like the story is conveyed well through regular gameplay and is all trapped behind easter egg quests im going to guess. I really do wanna do the ww2 easter eggs like all of them to try and improve my opinion of the game but i dont think that will ever happen because i dont have any friends who give a shit about this game and until this point i didnt even, same thing happened to me with IW. But yeah great review as always.

Faulty Blue yeah that does suck, but it's nowhere near as bad as you say comparative to other zombies maps. Like you are singling out the easter egg. But almost all of the harder zombies maps are literally the same thing. If a player doesn't know how to get a certain weapon or which area to unlock properly or how to effectively complete a task, it very often results in you all losing the game. Sure it might not be specifically the easter egg, but pretty much all the extra difficult maps are sure to have you losing mid rounds or up if you have one or two players who don't know what they are doing. It's a problem spanning zombies for like a decade. It is slightly worse here because of the needing to do them in the objective mode to get them in survival. But that is also somewhat balanced out by these maps being shorter to fully complete than many if not most zombies maps take just to fully set up. A weak link in tortured path maps will cost you the game, but very often that's the same for normal zombies maps. Only difference being the normal zombies maps are meant for much more prolonged gameplay and take more effort to set up in.

If you want to actually succeed on any of the maps it’s an absolute necessity to have shellshock, it’s not advised to do so, it’s an absolute necessity, not to mention the assassination objective bomber has the health of a fucking Nokia phone and in order to have a chance of defeating it you need to have pack a punched guns, but not everybody in the match knows how to unlock pap, so if you don’t tell them you’re boned, there’s too many things you need to know for being able to play the map, it’s too much you need to have knowledge of if you don’t want to fail the map

In which case you NEED, not want, NEED to unlock things and do objectives to get wonder weapons, unlock pap, open certain areas, get special equipment, and get necessary perks. There is not a single normal zombies map (other than nacht) that doesn't require you to take additional steps that are necessary to progress or survive, the two things everyone plays zombies for past simply killing zombies. Also it doesn't matter if it's 100% necessary. You play zombies to have fun, if the only way to actually have real fun with a map is to do certain things like unlock pap on SoE then that is almost a necessity. If you don't plan on getting that far and you've already unlocked the achievements then there is basically no point in playing them. Fact is many zombies maps have it where if players don't know what they are doing your team will likely die and lose the map. Difference between those maps and TTP maps is that TTP maps are much faster and thus it takes less time to reset and set back up in a TTP map compared to a normal hard zombies map. It's the same outcome, only TTP is much easier to reset on than normal maps. And yeah if you fail an objective you fail the map. They are objective maps. You are meant when playing them to complete objectives. Failing to complete objectives means you failed the core reason for playing that map, thus you have to reset. Normal zombies maps are survival maps. You are meant when playing them to survive for as long as possible. Failing to survive means you failed the core reason for playing that map, thus you have to reset. You keep talking like all this is new and specific to TTP. It's the same concept just with a different appearance. You play the game to accomplish this goal, if you don't then you die, and have to reset. If you just got a pass on failing the objectives then there wouldn't be any challenge. Zombies is meant to be a hard game if you are actually trying. If you didn't fail when you didn't complete an objective then there is almost no risk and the difficulty is reduced significantly. "Oh this is an annoying objective, I don't like it, I'm just gonna use my freebie and let it fail, just not worry about doing it and then I'll move on". In easter egg steps you don't just get to pass up the annoying or tedious parts of it, you have to do it all. The point of getting to the next step in an objective or easter egg is to reward progress for beating a challenge or task.
Very unique concept I believe, but it definitely could have had some work done to it to make it just that much better. Also nice emblem rizzo, meme/10.

You keep saying things like "but not everybody in the match knows how to unlock pap, so if you don’t tell them you’re boned" yeah try surviving on any zombies map with some randoms to round 30 without pack a punching your weapons, see how well you guys do. There are core parts of the zombies experience that are a neccessity to progress. If you just play zombies to round 15 then just quit then that's you. But most want to progress far past that. In which case you NEED, not want, NEED to unlock things and do objectives to get wonder weapons, unlock pap, open certain areas, get special equipment, and get necessary perks. There is not a single normal zombies map (other than nacht) that doesn't require you to take additional steps that are necessary to progress or survive, the two things everyone plays zombies for past simply killing zombies.
Also it doesn't matter if it's 100% necessary. You play zombies to have fun, if the only way to actually have real fun with a map is to do certain things like unlock pap on SoE then that is almost a necessity. If you don't plan on getting that far and you've already unlocked the achievements then there is basically no point in playing them. Fact is many zombies maps have it where if players don't know what they are doing your team will likely die and lose the map. Difference between those maps and TTP maps is that TTP maps are much faster and thus it takes less time to reset and set back up in a TTP map compared to a normal hard zombies map. It's the same outcome, only TTP is much easier to reset on than normal maps.
And yeah if you fail an objective you fail the map. They are objective maps. You are meant when playing them to complete objectives. Failing to complete objectives means you failed the core reason for playing that map, thus you have to reset. Normal zombies maps are survival maps. You are meant when playing them to survive for as long as possible. Failing to survive means you failed the core reason for playing that map, thus you have to reset. You keep talking like all this is new and specific to TTP. It's the same concept just with a different appearance. You play the game to accomplish this goal, if you don't then you die, and have to reset.
If you just got a pass on failing the objectives then there wouldn't be any challenge. Zombies is meant to be a hard game if you are actually trying. If you didn't fail when you didn't complete an objective then there is almost no risk and the difficulty is reduced significantly. "Oh this is an annoying objective, I don't like it, I'm just gonna use my freebie and let it fail, just not worry about doing it and then I'll move on". In easter egg steps you don't just get to pass up the annoying or tedious parts of it, you have to do it all. The point of getting to the next step in an objective or easter egg is to reward progress for beating a challenge or task.
