I know this isn't really related to ww2 zombies but i just wanted to say that i really enjoy these review videos you make (such as the one on Logan and IW zombies). I personally really enjoy how they're organized, executed, and hearing your opinions mixed in the with your jokes. I know this probably won't really mean much coming from some random person such as myself, hope to see more videos like these, not even just exclusive to zombies because i also really enjoyed your reviews on Logan and Transformers, and apologize for saying "really" so much

Honestly, thank you for all the laughs and enjoyable content you've given me and my friends throughout the years. This was a great review, every point was spot on. I was kinda hoping you would mention some of the nice little things like the german rocket launcher upgrade animation, how it bangs against pack a punch because it's too big to fit, turns sideways, then goes in and upgrades. Or how the bacon and eggs don't have any splash damage when pack a punched now so you aren't forced to use flak jacket, those are just small things though, this was a super enjoyable review and made valid points for and against the map, all of which I agree. I am honestly in love with this version of zombies.

I honestly like this zombies mode more then it's predecessors in my opinion I love the grittiness to it and just the atmosphere alone especially the music that goes along with it it's generally creepy and the zombies themselves are terrifying I love the horror elements alone and just the experience of the game it's very fun!

Great review Rizzo. I'll be honest, I haven't played a COD game since BO2, so I enjoyed seeing your reviews on the later modes (Extinction, Exo Zombies) that came after. As much as I love your older, more comedic videos, its nice to see something that still has some laughs, but is well put together and feels like it came purely from the heart. Keep in mind, I'm referring to all of your reviews,(as well as your music videos) not just this one.
However I am a little disappointed you lost interest in your BO2 review as I was really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that, especially Mob of the Dead, as you've made clear in previous videos that's one of you favourite maps. At the same time, I won't be one of those people that demands you to finish it, as I do understand that sometimes when you work on something, at one point, you're no longer into it and don't feel like finishing it.
Regardless of what I wanted to see, I had a lot of fun watching these videos Rizzo, and you have definitely inspired me to do similar content with my own hobbies. Again, great review and thanks for all the laughs and joy you gave in your final hours.

I just miss the good ole COD BO2 Days... I’m so thankful for the great times I had, filing up my summers, trying to beat the Easter eggs. It makes me sad when I realize that was three years ago. God, where does the time go
I loved the BO2 days. Staying up late playing the new maps with friends is something I really miss.
The first map released on disc was my favorite. Every other map released was way to complicated even for just playing the map and not doing the easter egg.
Not really. None of the maps are that complex compared to say something like dead of the night, zetsoubou no Shima, Shadows of evil, origins, all of them are simple to get basic set up on and some steps for a few upgrades are a bit complex but yeah.

Awesome video, I absolutely love ww2 zombies so far! I agree with most points made in the video, and this should be shown to the entire community. Everyone is so negative about the mode already, just because treyarch didn't make it. Pisses me off and drives me up a wall, the haters of this map.

I know I’m really late, but I enjoy seeing what type of things he enjoys in zombies like more varied perks and more flexibility with them, but others really dislike.
Can someone help me to understand why having Jugg, Quick Revive and Double Tap as mandatory perks in your slots is an issue? Variety? Sure yeh but, especially true if the other perks aren't as useful as those three, why would you want anything else. And I don't think you're doing us a favour getting rid of PHD and Mule Kick from the perk system and implementing them another way, in trying to give us more options, you give us less, know what I mean?
Perkaholic and all the other OP gums and EE rewards aside, you only have 4 perk slots and im sure you know which perks are used in this slots lol.....with Mule kick and PHD in the Mods you can buy the 4 crutch perks and still use the benefits of the other 2 if you want
If you play Solo, you basically always waste a slot for Quick revive and especially Jugg.....all this results in the exact same Loadout for all matches, WW2 and BO4 offers you way more combinations and strats....most people just dont realize that and whine around when they cant buy the Holy and allmighty Jugg

Well Rizzo, looks like this'll be the last review of games. It was a good run, but I wished you had waited until the DLC's had all come out, but I understand why you decided to release it this early. TH-cam can be a difficult thing, and you want to focus on other things, so it's understandable that you'd probably be taking a well-deserved long break off of TH-cam for awhile before WW2 completes it's DLC season. Good job with what you've done. Hope we'll see more in the future whenever you feel like you want to come back!

Logan Bowen I have played ever game but bo1 and every game was good but the start of of bo2. And I like a game of zombies that I can go on and have fun except for motd and oragens. I like just holding out or training not doing 20 different things to survive and I think that ww2 has no camping which sucked to the campers the game it just feels lame there are free power ups that I seem to get every second. And you have to run around the map a lot doing stuff just to survive. I respect your option and if you want to get a great zombies experience pick up the old black ops games or waw. Ps if you get bo2 be ready to buy dlcs

I Fucking love you for it. No one has ever really taken it into consideration that they could have been enjoyed simply for the laughs and close friendship. Just coming in to defend ww2's name 3 years later. I listened to all the haters at launch who said it was boring this and dull that... WRONG! The final Reich was so fun I bought the dlc even though I knew it was worse. Granted, the dlc is worse than I expected lol. None of the follow ups even come close to TFR (which is a shame and more down to dev crunch, making 1 map in 2 years, then 4 maps in 1 year, etc ).
But the engine is great. The atmosphere is great. The guns are great. The enemy types are SEX (design and gameplay wise) I'm way more interested in the story since it's less fantastical than the garbage treyarch had been spewing for the last 5 years.
I really hope for some bizarre reason some day we get map tools for this game to treat it with the respect it deserves and finish the work these great devs started.
Btw, I'm an og player since 2011 so I know my treyarch zombies. This game is a real one
Agree with everything you said, the maps,sure tds isnt a Great map,but I dont see why people call it “a disgrace to zombies”,the shadowed throne and frozen dawn are prob my fav map,but the tortured path doesnt desereve 6/10 of the hate it gets.
Is it just me... or is the gameplay of WWII quite similar to Cold War zombies...? Armor system, increased and balanced perks, loadouts, in game guides, selecting your character, clip refills... Uh.

I have probably watched this video about 4 to 5 times. I cannot get enough of Rizzo's "thoughts on" vids. Also, the final Ricki tophen is one of my favourite maps ever. No joke, I wish this map was remade for zombies next year (the one after cold war).
I really love the points you make in this video. I’ll be honest I’m probably not going to get WW2, but this game mode makes me want to keep coming back. It isn’t like Infinite Warfare zombies where everything is random and isn’t really fun, (looking at you Beast From Beyond), but it’s actually really well done. The map design is perfect, it has an amazing atmosphere, the weapons are all really good, and it’s the only map that has an EE that I genuinely want to finish. Also, I’m actually a fan of how difficult the Brenner is. It actually feels like a boss and not a minor annoyance that just gets in my way. I also really like the story and how almost everything is explained, (still wondering why there’s a US shovel for everyone when they’re in Germany), and I honestly want to know where the storyline goes from here. Overall this Zombies mode is a 10/10 for me and it just might be the thing to convince me to buy this game. But I hope they add some more quotes for the characters though. I love Drostan because Tennant, but I can only listen to him say “Eggs in my beer!” so many times.

I agree with a majority of your points stated in the video. Though a few of my absolute favorite things this zombies mode has to offer is the following. 1. I am really surprised with how well the map plays out when it comes to character builds and loadouts. Unlike BO3 and IW Zombies this feels more like a specialized playstyle rather than a jumble of random overpowered boosts that ruins all immersion and challenge of the gameplay. (GobbleGums I am pointing my finger at you!) Another thing I enjoy is that the main characters you play as aren't annoying or completely stale and I enjoy playing as all of them instead of just one character (My favorite is Drostan though. :). Though I really wish these character said more than "Eggs in MAH BEER!", "Now we're cookin' with gas.", and "OH BLOODY HELL!!!!" My final point is that I love that the guns are all useful in the higher rounds. In other iterations of COD Zombies you spend 10-15 rounds to open Pack-A-Punch and after upgrading most weapons they tend to poop out in damage after the mid/late 20's. (Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 are the biggest culprits of this). So yeah that was my take on the WW2 Zombies experience. Sorry for the long ass comment.
Funny how only the first map which is the free one is the only one to actually guide you through a casual EE. I would’ve liked every map to have a casual route, but oh well.

That works most of the times though.
I think the game has so much potential, I hope the DLCs don't fuck it up. This is the first map of a zombies game that I actually really love. The atmosphere still creeps me out and the zombie designs are actually horrifying... unlike ANY of Treyarch's zombies' designs.
Also I'm probably the only one but I really like the hidden side quests for unlocking new characters. I like the difficult challenges some of them give you, and being able to play a character my friends don't have so we're not all identical or fighting over someone. :D

I must say sledgehammer did their zombies right in most way but in my opinion I like the little things that are not the most important question to answer in Treyarch(like points, weapons, zombies, etc.) In my rank of which is the best:
1) Treyarch zombies(from small and very little story to large and fantastic storyline)
2) Sledgehammer Nazi zombies(like you said it need to have a very safe and non-missguided Journey)
3) Iw zombies did a couple of small but noticeable things right but still hit hard into a wall. P.s of course pointdexter aka GOD himself
4) exo zombies had a nice develop characters but for the other things not very well.

Also there are rumors or its official(whatever you believe) that the TranZit crew are coming back in next CoD zombies but since Jason blundell is still likely going to be doing the storyline from where we last left off at the end of the CoD zombies comic they will have more actual develop character in them... Hopefully.

As much of a treyarch fanboy I am, I'm honestly starting to like WW2's zombies more than Treyarch's. As good overall and as thoughtful as treyarchs are, there are a lot of flaws in treyarch's that sledgehammer understands and takes care of. Zombies, before ALL else, should be FUN, and I think WW2 does that better than any of the zombies games to date. In WW2, if you die and bleed out on round 40, once you respawn, you can get your guns back, and the guns in ww2 seem much stronger than in treyarchs, even non upgraded and without perks, which allows you to actually survive. Treyarch, on the other hand, basically has you screwed; Non upgraded weapons without double tap are about as useful as a fucking paperclip on round 40, and if you dont have any points, its even worse; You only get 1500 points compensation in Treyarch; Thats not really enough to do shit. You can buy a basic weapon, and unload 5 clips into one zombie and just hope not to get trapped. WW2 doesn't have any of that "unloading your gun into a zombie and it doesn't die" bullshit. the boss zombies are fun and add a level of strategy to the game, and keep it fresh. And thats not to say WW2's boss zombies are perfect, but lets be real; Treyarch makes the most ANNOYING boss zombies ever. For example, nova crawlers; They have no purpose. They arent fun, they don't add any challenge, they dont add strategy or different thinking, THey're just fucking annoying. WW2 also allows you to share points, which is indisposable to a player who bled out last round with no points. On top of that, EVERY gun in WW2 zombies is good, and not a SINGLE one of the treyarch games have accomplished that yet. You can upgrade any gun in ww2, and have a decent fighting chance. We'll have to wait and see, but Sledgehammer might actually top treyarch(IMO) with nazi zombies. ...Even though it would HELP IF THEY FIXED THE FUCKING PRESTIGE AND SUPPLY DROP RATES
I feel like it really screwed itself with the general absence of music. No matter how good ww2 zombies is, when I start a match of Gorod Krovi and hear that quire, my mind is made.
One thing I liked is that the zombie army Straub is creating seems to be a credible threat, given he's able to control them fairly well enough namely through being able to repel the undead thanks to his batterything, something not exclusive to himself since he was able to do it for Richter too. On a larger scale it could allow the undead army to be accompanied by living soldiers creating a formidable army for overwhelming the opposition. Assuming the rest of the season doesn't have it go off the rails it could be cool seeing the outcome of a legitimate undead army rampaging across Europe as a backdrop to the overarching Barbarossa plot, sort of like the setting to Gorod Krovi where Group 935 infect the Red Army with 115 to turn the city into a warzone. Maybe also like how Exo Zombies could have gone before the plot further into the season devolved back into inconsequential Atlas environments rather than a full scale outbreak.
Furthermore one cool detail is how the zombies seemingly all fill specific roles that could be useful for an army, you have the basic grunt zombies, pests acting as humanoid attack dogs, bomb carriers as engineers to destroy fortifications like bunkers, treasure carriers could even be for carrying supplies, wurstlings / the brenner as heavy duty for soaking up fire (literally in the case of the wave 30+ Brenner) and finally the Panzermorter like the name implies for destroying tanks or any other heavy armor - not to mention any future bosses or zombie types we'll see further down the line. I actually like how the consumables are less powerful. The consumables in BO3 and IW were too powerful making it kind of P2W.
I loved infinite warfare zombies and WW2 they both did good in their own ways
The loud mörder made this so much better. And since I haven't played ww2 zombies yet. I found this helpful.
Nice to see another review from you. I like IW zombies for the most part, but I feel that sledgehammer's take on zombies really felt like it could rival treyarch. I also feel that there is hope in this season, as it doesn't seem like the mode will divide others as much as IW zombies did. I've only ever played both of these maps maybe once or twice, but from what I played, I was pretty satisfied with them. I was convinced, like you, that only Treyarch knew how to do Zombies, but Sledgehammer's proven themselves with this. Props to them for also making a story I actually slightly care about (don't have the game, so my only way of reading into the story is through the internet, and how much I learn is based on my motivation), unlike IW where I took one look at Spaceland and immediately dropped any pretense of hope. I'm overall glad WWII Zombies can be the first non-Treyarch zombies mode I can say I care about (to a degree, anyways. Just depends on how much I feel like reading into it again).

I was genuinely and still am scared and nervous when playing wwII zombies (I have not played enough to be numbed to it). I enjoy and respect everything within it and it really is something else in some aspects. overall, enjoy it. I also respect the aspect of grinding for levels and such, gives me more incentives to play. love this video, brother, very nice, keep it up :)) black_heart*..

People make a huge deal about Wustlings and how they stop training, but I believe that they are extremely easy as their enrage is both their strength, and their greatest weakness (as long as you can dodge it); it leaves their backs open both during the windup, somewhat during the charge (Sometimes they have a fantastically ridiculous turn rate, usually if you get to close during charging), and at the recovery (after it lands its attack). During these times the Wustlings are open to taking x2 damage (Spinal Damage) and also run over zombies behind you if you manage to dodge them making it even easier to get away from things like the Pest and the Bomb-less Bomb-Zombies.
I've only played COD WW2 Zombies once and all I actually got to building the base tesla gun on my first try.
(I don't hate it, it's just that priorities in my life prevented me from playing for a LONG while. Definitely gonna be playing more during the holidays)
'The Final Reich' has had me very interested, and in a way, it really sparks my interest with Survival Horror. The Panzermorder really reminds me of the Resident Evil 2 William Birkin final form, which still scares me to this day in its representation, themes, and design.
I've also learned some things here and there about the gameplay from this review, since I haven't been able to really dig that deep into WW2 Zombies myself thanks to life. So now I know where to shoot for the Wustling :)
And I gotta give credit to the Zombies TH-camrs for uncovering Straub's story. In a way, I'm getting a bit of a feel for even Straub since his video entries are like a further progression of his descent, and I'm interested in his character kind of like Marie and Klaus.
Is it just me, or has the transitions between each section gotten a bit shorter since the IW Zombies review? I think they worked really well! (Especially 'The Final Reich section at 15:36 It really set that tone of what the map was about before you even lay out your commentary.)

The reason I'm on the part saying "eh zombies again" is because this is now the fourth year of zombies on a cod game. I just kind of feel Treyarch should have been the only ones doing zombies because it was unique to them to do zombies. Infinity Ward started to have something unique until with their most recent project they threw it away (Extinction). Back in the day we had a break from zombies for a year with things like spec ops on modern warfare 2, and survival on MW3, it wasn't much but it worked to give us a break for a while. Now it just feels like copy and paste for the next cod game but to be fair that's how I felt about cod with multiplayer. Now it's for even the best part of cod games which used to be the coop modes.
Predwars Productions I agree every cod game having zombies every year is too much, it will wear down quickly otherwise so I’m glad I skipped IW and part of the reason why I’m having a blast playing WW2 zombies as after a break for a year so it’s fresh again

Godly Trey You're proving my point though. If you have to skip a cod game how truly fresh is it? The gameplay style is almost exactly the same for every zombies. Wave based, perks that help you take more hits, reload faster etc, drops that make survival easier like the nuke, instakill, and max ammo, and finally the fact that it's fucking zombies as the enemies you fight. In my opinion skipping one cod game or even multiple just wouldn't change how bland zombies has easily become.

and poor weapon balance, The sandbox was so boring. If you weren’t running the papd 1911s and wonder weapon, you were dealing such poor damage.
After playing more, I think WW2 zombies is actually my least favorite version of zombies. After the first couple times playing it I just got bored and couldn’t get myself to play it anymore.
I felt the same way about all the maps in blacks ops 3 except for some of the chronicles maps and the giant, which has me worried that the only new maps I’m going to enjoy are going to be from infinity ward if they continue their version of zombies. Hopefully treyarch will begin making good maps again, otherwise I’m going to be avoiding everything besides their games.
WWII zombies is a beautiful version of zombies. But it does have some serious problems. 1: no upgrade to the gun sounds after PAP. 2: wustling (tank) zombies in every map. 3: there is something blaring wrong with the way melee works. 4: the boss zombies in Darkest Shore are OP super bullet sponges. 5: the wonder weapons are mostly useless. 6: more than one Wustling can spawn in a round(up to 5?). 7: the perk animations can get you killed. 8: and the worst problem is how if you get hit by a zombie it can become attached to you allowing it to get one to two more hits in irregardless of how fast you run away. But I love this version of zombies and I’m super disappointed that well probably never get more thanks to the cancellation of sledgehammers next game.

All true. It is a shame. It's a shame the dev team was so small and rushed too. If the dlc had another year of dev time I think we would have ended up with something really special. I would have even been ok with only 2-3 more dlc maps if the quality was on par with TFR.
