    “I thought that would get a bigger laugh” is such a good one to ease the tension! Having this in mind removes so much stakes from making jokes

    • @LilChuunosuke
      @LilChuunosuke 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      That line is SUCH a life hack. I don't know where I learned it, but I inadvertently taught it to myself while trying to learn how to be funny & it works wonders. ESPECIALLY if the person you're talking to does not get self conscious about not laughing. You can really feel the tension in the air just melt away.

      @@elperronimo I'd usually respond to that with either "tough crowd" or "man, I am just NOT funny today" and a laugh, then go on to just boost up other people's jokes instead of making my own.

      An even better line is, "you're supposed to laugh at that" and widen your eyes at the other person until they laugh uncomfortably, then you just snap out of it like it never happened.

    It's blowing my mind, but I came to some of these conclusions on my own, on my road to confidence very recently.
    "Give yourself permission to call out behavior you don't like" - I used to be afraid of doing that (history of abuse), I would imagine scenarios where the person gets really upset or offended and our relations get worse.
    But when I started calling people out on behaviors I didn't like - things like being interrupted in conversation - our relations greatly improved. They usually changed their behavior, I felt like I was respected more, I was more comfortable talking to them and more importantly - I started feeling that if something happens that I am not a fan of - I have a tool to change it instead of feeling powerless.
    It's not that I constantly tell people off, but just doing that a few times gave me A LOT of confidence.

  • @Cationna
    @Cationna 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Not gonna lie, the point on 7:29 just BLEW MY MIND. That is so true. Of you just trust that you're likeable, that some people will like you, you're not so desperate for everyone to like you, and to prove to yourself your likeability that way. This is so we'll put though, and seems so intuitive (even though it's hard to internalise). Imma write it down on my mirror and repeat it to myself every day because that's an excellent thought lol

    Although I think you should not advertise in the middle of the video, it's kind of annoying. Or at least you should make it quick (like 7 seconds top). I know you're doing that because people tend to leave at the end of your videos when your original advertisment gets played (I do so myself).
    Maybe if you change that old advertisment clip that's rolling since I don't know when, people would not leave at the end and you wouldn't have to advertise in the middle of the video.

    I wonder why there are no videos from you about Conor McGregors psychology post Khabib fight. There are plenty of videos from before analyzing every minute detail but almost none after that.

    Okay, but can we see Lord of the Rings with Gyllenhaal doing his normal accent? "Alright. Keep your secrets," would have a very different feel.😃

    Today, I found that l don't watch through these videos due to my trained habit to change video when the plug comes. Usually, it's at the end of a video. Haha
