I just ordered one a couple of days ago. I have a question for you that got it late like me. What happens if you buy a game on the Catalog and then that same game is given to you on season one? Did you have a case like that?
I'm a new viewer. I love your channel intro. The info in the video is on point. My only question is why your main camera angle is so far away? I would prefer to see your face and the gaming tech of the video better in the main shot. Thank you for the content.
Thanks for watching. I’m using a new 4k camera for the past week or two on the channel. Still playing around. I’ll move the position to be closer on future videos
@@MusicReyansh12 understandable, I will say, I find myself playing this everyday since I’ve gotten it. It’s replaced my switch as my go to quick little game session device
This looks super cool, but to get one sent to me in Europe it costs $274 with customs duty and shipping. For half of this price I’d consider it. No backlight is another deal breaker, too.
What is it and how much is it worth to you? Not trying to provoke you, it's an honest question. To me PlayDate is a console, it's not just another emulation handheld. It has its own dedicated games so I cannot compare it to emulation handhelds. I cannot compare it to Switch either since it is much more smaller scale, much more open and inviting towards solo devs and small teams. It does not make you jump through hoops to publish your games, it offers its dev kit publicly and is overall super accessible. It is also hard to compare it to Switch since it is clearly targeted towards gaming enthusiasts and not general gamers. Everything in it screams "niche product". So genuinely, what is its worth? How many systems like it did we have in the 20 years to compare it to? In the last 10 years?

I don't think that can happen. Games on Season 1 are not on Catalog.

i am happy to have one solid purchase
Still waiting for the top 15 video btw. :D
how long did it take for it to arrive
5 days
@@UrGamingTechiewoah that is faster than I expected
The backlight issue is completely solved with the Mirror App they released, you can just stream your playdate to your monitor.
How is that “solved”? The main thing about a hand held is being able to hand hold it
@@danielchapter70128 Ok buddy, do you also complain about a book needing light to read it?
@@spielebrockenno. Because a books made of paper and not a screen that can easily have a light.

Personally I don’t think it’s much if a problem at least not for me but for the people who that is a problem for this is not a solution at all
Yes, still worth it 🎉
I'd get it for 150 dollars but 200 is too much

🙌🙌🙌
But it's way too expensive for what it is.
its like buying a painting for decorating, not for gaming on top. I would buy it just for using it as a clock

Depends. I think $200 for a unique gaming experience you can’t get anywhere else is well worth it
no its not
