I bought a Jeep Wrangler in 2005, brand new. Came with Goodyear Wrangler all terrain. After about 4years I had the death wobble. I noticed my tires wasn't flat around. Replaced tires, and never had another issue with it. I still owe the Jeep, drive it back in forth to and from work. It has 120000 miles on it. Never had that issue again. It's 2023,now
Don’t forget, that lower trac bar bushing goes bad it will egg out the hole in the bracket. Places like Ruff stuff have weld washers to help bring that hole back to round again.
Hi Tony, this is super helpful! My steering wheel is not re-centering and I have some death wobble. I have a worn-out drag link end (upper end), worn-out ball joints (hearing squeaking sounds), uneven front tire wear, and I don't have a front sway bar. I'm looking to address all these issues. But which one might be more likely to link to the re-centering issue? Thanks!
To recenter the steering wheel you need to adjust the drag link, so having the upper end worn out is most likely the culprit - but with all the other issues you have going on you need to address them all at once to really fix the issue.
I have two holes drilled in my axle side track bar bracket on my LJ. It’s always had a fixed length bar and used the hole that was drilled after my 4” lift. I bought a JKS adjustable track bar so can I use the factory hole because it’s in much better condition than the other?
Hi Tony, I have a 2005 TJ, 4.0. I just switched from drum to disc brakes, 14 bolt in rear and Dana 44 8 lug up front. Ive heard about switching from the stock proportional valve to an adjustable one. Any tips or suggestions for making the brakes more better in terms of stopping power? Like master cylinder or brake boosters etc etc.
For a TJ (also valid for YJ and LJ) you can switch the o-ring around in the proportioning valve to get more stopping power. If that doesn't work get an adjustable one. We have also seen and heard of people using an E350 master cylinder on a set up like yours. Search on pirate4x4.com as there is lots of good info for your axle set up.
my daughter has recently purchased a jeep wagon and I am concerned with quality of JJ eep that she has purchased. she just had it in the shop to have so my e front end work done, it was a 3k bill and she still has what she says is ping ponging on the road. so I am guessing this is what she is having. so I am concerned where did that 3k if go into. so I am headed out to see exactly what is up with the jeep and price she was charged.
My friend has a Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80, 1995. It’s lift with 4” springs, the shocks has a supplement, has casters. And it has the death wobble.. we don’t know what could be the cause.
Odyssey battery doesn't fit in that box without forcing it. Also, battery hits computer ,had to drill holes and move battery box. Would love to watch you install that battery box all the way through with an Odyssey battery and a hold down.

@@GenRightOffRoad Thanks!
is it possible to only get death wobble, and yes it is true poo your pants loss of steering from ONLY the driver side wheel when a bump is hit. Thanks

We are working on an installation video next week for this exact part, so stay tuned.
