First off… ADORABLE caricature!!!! Second, the Mother’s Day episode was SO beautiful and presented in a way that was easy to understand without being overly dramatic and over the top!
I always cried when it came to Chucky and his birth mom, it was so sad that kids like Chucky aren't fortunate like others to have a loving mother to be there when they're needed the most. And I always loved how much Chucky was brave enough to go through the dragon door to save his dad from Coco
Classic Rugrats had so much love and passion I love how it teaches kids important lessons that stick even today, definitely a series that can't be replaced.
Let me tell you Chuckie's story always struck at my heartstrings as a kid and he was always my favorite And then I lost my own mother and it just hit even harder. His story is so important to include in a kids show and I feel it's usually not covered enough

It's a shame the new Rugrats reboot isn't just a continuation, with the original Rugrats now as adults with kids of their own. It really would have been the perfect show for parents to bond with their kids. Tommy and Kimmy being the parents to the new Rugrats protagonist with crazy and cool Uncle Dill. Maybe that baby would the the more cautious one. Chuckie would have his own baby and wife (maybe Nicole or even Angelica!), and their baby would be the more outgoing one. Phil and Lil would both be married with children of their own (maybe Phil marries Susie or something), but maybe one of their kids would take the toddler role, and another the infant role. The grandparents (Stu, Deedee, Drewm Chaz, etc) of course show up on occasion.
You know Chuckies a real lucky guy. I know he lost his mom when he was just a baby but she still with him and Chaz. He has such wonderful friends, a second mother to look after him, and an adorable sister. He lost a lot at first but he gained so much more
The fact that he was 2 yrs old and fully understood he had 2 mommy's that loved him very much and his dad..family and friends always reminded him he was loved and included! Chucky is my favorite...then Miss. Suzie Carmichael 🤷🏾♀️🥰
Chuckie has and always will be my most favorite of all the rugrats. Mostly because of his life’s story and his character development in the later seasons of the show. When I first saw the Mother’s Day episode, it made me cry my heart out for him. And during the “I want a mom that will last forever” moment in the rugrats in Paris movie, I cried even more for Chuckie, making me feel the urge to hug the young boy.
I can relate to Chuckle of losing mother because I lost my mother as well but at the young age of 6 and I missed her very much..especially watching the mother's day episode or the plane sense in the Paris movie that made me cry even today 💔
That mother's day episode and many others are why I loved Rugrats cause even though it was a kids show it tackled serious subjects while doing it in a way that the kids watching it could understand
I'm so glad I found out about this channel via the community post of @JordanFringe94 ! As a 1990 baby, I absolutely adored the Rugrats growing up, and the one episode that ever made me cry multiple times was the Mother's Day episode. I think Chuckie's dad may be my favorite of the parents.
🎉Thank you Lydia for reviewing my favorite child, Chuckie Finster! I find it funny that he's modeled after our favorite killer doll yet is afraid of everything! I'll never forget when Rugrats first debuted back in 91 on my eighth birthday! The Nicktoons definitely have a special place in my heart and long before they were established I used to watch shows like Maya the Bee, Grimm's Fairy Tales, Danger Mouse, and of course count duckula back in the eighties!🎉
Tragically Christine Cavanaugh, the original voice of Chucky, passed away in 2014 and Chucky was always my favorite character and I also lost my mother though not as young as Chucky was but I still can relate with him and he’ll always be my all time favorite character
Am I the only one that had to fight back tears throughout the video? This brought up precious memories of watching the series when I was a kid, and reminded me that Chuckie was always my favorite Rugrat. His trials and tribulations always made me appreciate him when I was younger, but now, move me to tears.
I'd definitely watch a video of you going over Rugrats in Paris! Definitely an underrated movie. Also wondering what other timeline videos you'll do! Will they all be just the popular cartoons or will we see some niche stuff covered as well?
It's such a great movie! I have video scripts completed for Arthur and Kim Possible. If you have any suggestions for shows you want me to cover then let me know 🙂
@@LydiaLovesTimelines Ben 10, Hey Arnold, Avatar and Loud House are popular toons I think has a good amount of lore to go over. But I'd also like to see timelines for more underrated shows like Glitch Techs, and Harvey Beaks if possible!
In All Grown Up episode Truth Or Consequences it showed how they looked in elementary on a video showing Chuckie playing basketball. My favorite character is Tommy then Kimi when she was new. I hope we do get a series showing them in 30s now.
Great video. This was a very thorough, comprehensive, and formative character essay of Chuckie. I'd like to see you do a character timeline of Angelica. She has become a very misunderstood, and misinterpreted character in recent years, with many just remembering her as an insufferable brat, but if one were to watch the show, she's more complex than the surface level would leave one to believe, and requires a thorough look. In the reboot, they add some extra nuance and depth to her, giving the audience a bigger glance of her personality. The episode "Rescuing Cynthia" culminates in this direction, and I would even say is on par with some of the best specials of the original, specifically because it gives Angelica the unprecedented chance to be the protagonist for the whole story straight, and it presents a whole different side to her we never saw in the original.
Another awesome video, Lydia. Chuckie was always a fascinating character as he was the one who had to trifle with a lot of firsts that would be scary for most babies/toddlers. Plus, I’d like to give a shout out to the late, great Christine Cavanaugh who gave Chuckie his first voice. Looking forward to more videos and am always available if you need more Avatars! Keep up the great work!
I am a twin (identical) and my sister and I LOVED Phil & Lil. Our next favorite was Suzie (cause we were half black so having a character that looked like us helped us relate plus just loved her sass) with my other favorite being Dil Pickles (the movie came out when I was in 2nd grade)
Chuckie was also my favorite character in Rugrats & I absolutely loved Rugrats in Paris as I had it on the orange vhs version and rewatched it so many times!
Love Chuckie too! The one I could relate to the most. I have a soft spot for Kimi as well, and Tommy was always cool and such a good friend, and Phil and Lil was fun too.
As much as Phil and Lil were my favourite characters (I was an only child who wished I had a sibling alot), Chuckie was definitely the baby I really resonated the most with as I lost my father at a young age(5) and Rugrats was that one show out of all the shows I watched that wasn't afraid to address a topic like that and it made me realise, despite being told and comforted and going to grief counseling with other kids in similar situations, he may be gone but he's not really gone. To this day, I still can't watch the Mother's Day episode without my heart sinking back down to the day I very first watched it. Like Chas/Melinda with the flowers, my mother always told me the dandelion petals that you see flying in the wind were him watching over me. Simply just because of Chuckie, Rugrats will always hold a close place in my heart and I'm grateful for that
Watching the rut rats in Paris always made me cry when I was younger, especially with the happy ending. I haven’t watched it in years, I’d probably ball my eyes out the whole time

I cry throughout the entire movie and I have no idea why, lmao. Its for sure sad, but I feel like maybe it’s the nostalgia or something that makes me cry every time I watch it too 😅
I’ve always had a soft spot for Chuckie finster always kinda shy and is really sweet and also when the audience found out his mother passed away it was really sweet to see how chuckie would react to it that’s another great episode and it’s another reason in life why you shouldn’t take the small things for granted.

I get misty eyed every time I hear that sound bite of Chuckie saying "I do have a Mommy, she's in the flowers" 😭😭😭 Also, we call the isopods "rollie pollies" here. And I have two different types of isopods as pets, an orange kind and cow spotted ones myself, hoping to get the Rubber Ducky kind or the powdered blue colored. I also provide shelter and foods for all the wild types of isopods in my yard :)
Chuckie was, is and always will be my favorite character in the Rugrats and All Grown Up, mostly due to how hilariously relatable he was to my brothers and me when we were kids. Plus he gave credit to Reptar in All Grown Up 🦖
in season 1 episode 8 (real or robot) shortly after Tommy’s Dad puts them to bed after watching a scary movie Tommy’s Dad-says to Chuckie "You’re Mom and Dad will be here in the morning to pick you up"… But that makes no sense because in season 1 episode 8 (real or robot) shortly after Tommy’s Dad puts them to bed after watching a scary movie Tommy’s Dad-says to Chuckie "You’re Mom and Dad will be here in the morning to pick you up"… but Mother’s Day episode they said his mom died shortly after he was born
I really wish that when they decided to do a new 3D animated the Rugrats that instead of just retconning the original series entirely by bringing back the characters again, it should have been the babies we saw in the original series as adults and the Rugrats would have been their kids that would have been a much better concept
One funny thing that I think a lot of people never talk about is the ending of bad Kimi. Right after they share a group hug, the cops show up to take em in. This was foreshadowed right before the reveal that Z was a good person when Phil said he was going to go get the cops. It's shown that that's exactly what he did when we saw him step out of the police car. A lot of people don't bring it up, but I think it's the funniest part of that episode!
Chucky’s wonderful life is one of my favorite episodes of the Rugrats. Chuckie is honestly my favorite character as well because he’s humble. I own all movies on tape with a working VCR.😂😂😂
After seeing tons of fanart of adult Rugrats all looking like models and super trendy, storyboard artist for the original show Eric Molinsky drew what he thought they would actually look like as adults.
There are plenty of moments throughout this series that I wanted to teach Angelica a harsh lesson for being such a brat and a mean girl towards Tommy, Chucky, Phil, and Lil. Even though I enjoyed watching Rugrats growing up, I can’t rewatch it because I can’t stand seeing and hearing a bratty little girl being such a bully towards younger kids.
I was watching the first episodes just today and noticed something... In the BBQ episode Chaz is talking to someone. A woman. This person, a red haired woman, never reappeared was just there at the table with him. I wonder if at the time the creators hadn't decided if Chuckie would have a mommy.
Great video, Lydia 😊 I loved Rugrats when I was a kid. I agree that Rugrats in Paris was very underrated, I preferred that film over the first one. Another classic TV series from when I was a kid was Recess. It would be good if you could do a timeline for that show 😊
I was a massive fan of the rugrats when I was a kid, it was hands down my favorite show. Then the first movie came out and the new baby was named after me, I felt like I was part of the show. As I grew up I started to lose interest in it but then they came out with all grown up and it resparked my love for the show. At some points I think I actually liked all grown up more than the original show. This show means the absolute world to me, and it's so awesome to see you making a video for the life of the heart of the show, now you just gotta do it for the soul of the show Tommy.
I’d really like to see a video about Rugrats in Paris it’s my main favourite rugrat’s movie out of the three, I always tear up at the song that was playing during the airplane scene with Chucky wanting a mom and it was shown in the clouds through his eyes.
Chuckie was definitely my favorite, and now that I’m a single parent too his story hits even harder because I know how hard life is as a single parent, but with a great support system around me and my son it was worth it ❤
I remember Chuckie's story with his mom always made my heart hurt even when I Was a kid.Though I will say I was rather young when Rugrats in Paris came out and I remember having a nightmare where Chuckie was singing "I want a mommy" [idk if it was in the movie tbh] and I had lost my mom in the dream. I remember waking up sobbing and demanding my dad call my mom so I knew she was okay. He convinced me to wait until morning since it was like 3am when I woke up [I won't go into detail about the dream, I still remember it to this day over 20 years later. [Wow that movie is 23 years old] - Only other thing I remember is Reptar Bars, "Smell of vision" cards to scratch and sniff at different points during the movie AND the blue raspberry powder to sprinkle on your popcorn lol.
@@vacuumblink2300 Oh yeah it was all just a really bad nightmare I just still remember it D: My mom's doing great sorry to worry anyone/word that weird.
Fun fact: Chuckie is the only rugrat to have two voice actors during the original series and one of them is the voice actor for Bart Simpson while the other was the original voice of Babe the sheep pig. The creators of the Rugrats also worked on The Simpson's for the first three seasons so I wonder if that has anything with casting Nancy Cartwright as Chuckie.
Does anyone else remember the Halloween special of All Grown Up, where they go to like a camp and at the end they find the remains of pioneers and the VERY end it turns out one of the other kids at the camp was a ghost????
Episode 1 is Tommy's First Birthday. By the end of series, Tommy says his age is two and they say that Dill is almost a year old. In season one Chuckie says his age is two and when the series is near the end, some time in last two seasons, he says his age is three. Total time of the original Rugrats is between 12 to 16 months.

Also, we call the isopods "rollie pollies" here. And I have two different types of isopods as pets, an orange kind and cow spotted ones myself, hoping to get the Rubber Ducky kind or the powdered blue colored.
I also provide shelter and foods for all the wild types of isopods in my yard :)
i was so worried you wouldnt have a rugrats oc but you came through and im proud
Love this so much please keep making videos for a long time to come
Chuckie was, is and always will be my favorite character in the Rugrats and All Grown Up, mostly due to how hilariously relatable he was to my brothers and me when we were kids.
I really was not expecting a Rugrats character video. I love it :D
More rugrats and fairyoddparents content please.❤ definitely my two favorites growing up
YESSSSS LYDIA! Your taste only gets better! amazing.
The Rugrats was a great show to watch as a kid.
Chuckie was my favorite
I lost my mother at a young age, too. I had just turned three. And that has led to some TERRIBLE mother's days and birthdays.
I really wish that when they decided to do a new 3D animated the Rugrats that instead of just retconning the original series entirely by bringing back the characters again, it should have been the babies we saw in the original series as adults and the Rugrats would have been their kids that would have been a much better concept
I feel like All Grown up should have continued. I would have loved to see what the Rugrats looked like as teenagers and then as adults.
Sent here on a recommendation from the Fringester to learn about the Finster! Diggin' it. Gonna check out your other vids!
Welcome to the channel 🙂
I also collabed with Jordan on the timeline of Timmy Turner
@Lydia Loves Timelines Checking out the Randy Marsh timeline right now, but I'll have to watch that too! :D
Favorite characters are Tommy & Dill but Tommy is my favorite in Rugrats and Dill is my favorite in All Grown Up
I love the 2D animated "Rugrats" more than the 3D reboot.
To this day, the Mother's day episode makes me tear up
I think it's a very important episode tackling a serious topic
Your Rugrats look is so cute!
Thank you ☺️
After seeing tons of fanart of adult Rugrats all looking like models and super trendy, storyboard artist for the original show Eric Molinsky drew what he thought they would actually look like as adults.
I would definitely want to see a review of Rugrats in Paris
Chuckie from all grown up is perfect.🌟👍💖
a one off movie with the rugrats as parents with their own rugrats running amok could be super fun!
It would be good if you could do a timeline for that show 😊
My husband loved Recess so he's been really eager to cover that show too :)
Yes! Please make a video on Rugrats in Paris. Love that movie. Best one of the Rugrats trilogy.
Rugrats go wild was my favorite movie i loved the scratch and sniff! I too had every episode on vhs, rugrats in las vegas was really fun too ❤😂
Please do a video on Rugrats in Paris. It was a beloved part of my childhood and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
I’d really like to see a video about Rugrats in Paris it’s my main favourite rugrat’s movie out of the three, I always tear up at the song that was playing during the airplane scene with Chucky wanting a mom and it was shown in the clouds through his eyes.
Chuckie was definitely my favorite, and now that I’m a single parent too his story hits even harder because I know how hard life is as a single parent, but with a great support system around me and my son it was worth it ❤
I gotta wait a minute I did not see this coming but I'm so glad you. Did it I loved chuckie
Found my new favorite channel. Ur soothing voice helps me right now that I'm Stupid dumb hung over
Haha thank you! I hope your hangover is better
I loved Rugrats in Paris!! I remember my mom buying me the vhs tape. It was orange, and I got a straw with a reptar charm on it too.
5:20 He look like at his father now
I remember Chuckie's story with his mom always made my heart hurt even when I Was a kid.Though I will say I was rather young when Rugrats in Paris came out and I remember having a nightmare where Chuckie was singing "I want a mommy" [idk if it was in the movie tbh] and I had lost my mom in the dream.
Is your mom okay?
@@vacuumblink2300 Oh yeah it was all just a really bad nightmare I just still remember it D: My mom's doing great sorry to worry anyone/word that weird.
The all growed up special was my all time favorite episode from the series.
You have aggravated me, I don’t need your tears I don’t need your love I don’t need your sympathy, I am above
Fun fact: Chuckie was voiced by Christina Cavanaugh but after that she retired her of voiceacting and her death she voiced by Nancy Cartwright
