- In this video we look at the entire timeline of Philip J Fry. We look at Fry's entire life story, his past and future. I've put Fry's life in chronological order. Taking a look at the history of Futurama, as well as his relationship with Bender and Leela.
Futurama is an American science fiction animated sitcom created by Matt Groening that aired on Fox from March 28, 1999, to August 10, 2003, and on Comedy Central from March 23, 2008, to September 4, 2013. The series follows the adventures of slacker Philip J. Fry, who is cryogenically preserved for 1000 years and is revived in the 31st century. Fry finds work at an interplanetary delivery company, working alongside the one-eyed Leela and robot Bender.

Fun fact: fry was about to be called Curtis but he was renamed to Phillip after Phil Hartman who was originally going to play zapp Brannigan. Zapps voice actor is billy west impersonating troy McClure.

As well as a tribute to Hartman's voice, West also partially based the voice of Zapp off of what he thought Captain Kirk would sound like doing an impression of William Shatner!

21:10 when Fry said “wanna go around again?” I have to keep myself from crying each time I see that part, it’s just SO sweet.

When comedy central originally air the last episode they aired the pilot right after without the end credits so it gave me a reason to watch the entire series over again
So many things in this show made me cry. Fry's nephew being named after him, and bender telling his son "Daddy loves you. Remember that, won't you?" before his son got the surgery that erased his memory, and DEFINITELY the Seymour story

One of my favourite fry moments will always be "It's Just Like The Story Of The Grasshopper And The Octopus."
Hands down the best cartoon ever made.. how can you not root for Fry? There's a naive sincerity to him. I know everyone loves jurassic bark but the devil's hands is probably my favorite episode. And when Nibbler takes Fry to his mom's dream and "Manchild" comes on I lose it every time. Did it get a bit convoluted at times absolutely but at it's heart Futurama is a beautiful story from beginning to end

I mean, being frozen for a thousand years couldn’t be good for his brain. I mean, if it was there to begin with, it might have been in the condition of the packages he delivers with Planet Express.
Time is subjective too the time in which it was started to be tracked. So How can anyone say Jesus Christ never existed yet believe what time it is in which they exist? That is why the Son of God calls God Father Time because his death started the tracking of time and only the father knows when the son of man will return like a thief in the night.

I love Fry's story arc so much, i remember watching that ending and thought it was so brilliant and heartwarming, which seems to be consistent in Fry's timeline. When that episode hit, i knew it was over and was sort of glad of it because the last season cemented the arc of the characters. So thank you again Lydia for another well thought out video and maybe one day you might do a timeline of zoidberg.

Not only that. It is the show that starts with the end that is the start and yet the start is not the start, but the start of the end, (and done thee times yet still the same and different at the same time) but prohibit any of the caracters to remember anything. Sort of free will and fate in one.
I'm convinced that Matt Groening was fed up with the stupidity of Homer Simpson and wanted a wholesome character, so he created Futurama and mad characters with more depth and personality. And I think that's the biggest difference between the Simpsons and Futurama, there is way more character depth and personality than the Simpsons.
If you are wondering about his age, he was 25 when the series started and the series ended when he was in his early 30s
But if you wanted to add all the time travel crap, god knows how old he is?
Biologically he's 38 when the series ends, but physically he's 2046(the initial 1000 years frozen plus the almost 1008 years re-freezing himself in Bender's Big Score)
I'm not counting the forwards time machine because he's not physically in the universe when the machine is travelling forwards

Weird, in benders big score, 40(ish) year old fry has eye bags and slightly messy hair, whereas new fry (the latest reboot) looks the exact same as at the start of the story
I'll love this show forever. I had some tearful moments throughout this entire video. Futurama is a show I always reply. Sometimes I skip over Jurassic Bark because I don't want to cry. Sometimes I'll play it to cry. Thank you Futurama. Thank you guys also, great video.

Fry couldn't have used the time machine to arrive to his date on time as professor Farnsworth created a forwards only time machine, so there wouldn't be any paradoxes. Then they find out time loops.

It's funny because they drop that hint in season 1 I think, when fry takes up the job of working at the cryogenics lab, one of the guys who thaws out says he froze himself because he wanted to go back in time and meet ancient famous people and he thought time worked in a circle.

fry is 100% one of my comfort characters, hes legit one of the most sweetest fictional characters ive ever seen in cartoon history :]

People never realize how amazing futurama is the way fry time travels is awesome cause it actually makes sense plus it breaks away from the usual time machine and does freezing the storylines great and has hilarious characters
Bill West is a great meet. Love that his natural voice is so close to Fry. Especially for the all the voices he does on the show.
