Dear Kevin, you're a kind and sensitive soul with a big heart (and a big mouth) that has always told the truth, even to your own detriment within the industry. Your stories on stage have always kept me laughing, entertained and enlightened, while your films are full of life and laughs and made with love.
Keep ticking along, Kevin. There are many great years ahead of you. Not just in terms of the next evolution of your filmmaking career (which I believe will be truly great whatever it may be) but just in terms of your family and friends - watching your daughter grow-up into adulthood and get married or start her big career. Growing old with your close friends and still laughing about the same crazy shit you always have. Putting your positivity and creativity out into the world and inspiring your fans (and even the unconverted) with your often self-deprecating, always passionate, sometimes soul searching words of wisdom. You're one of the good ones and we need more people like you in the world.

Kevin, all the positive energy you've pumped into the universe has come back. Example:. How many times did you save Jay by getting him in rehab and taking care of him so that eventually he meets Jordan. Then in your moment of need, who is there? Jordan. The positivity you have sowed is amazing. Keep adding to that big bucket of win that is your life, because you've made a giant impact on mine with countless movies I could lose myself in , countless books and countless podcasts to get me through boring parts of my day. So in closing , when that ferry man came that day, the immortal words of Silent Bob had power....."No Ticket!". Thank you for everything you've given us Kevin. Here's to many more years of awesome.

It makes you wonder, what the world would be like if Bob Dylan or civil rights leaders such as MLK Jr was never here, or Muhammed Ali, or revolutionary guys like Che Guevera, & John Lennon, even Tupac Shakur was never here. Kev-dog belongs in this category imo. While so different from each other, they were all so beyond passionate in their craft, beliefs and fought for them no matter what the critical consequences were and it's for that reason that, people cannot turn away from his brilliance and LISTEN. Especially with a voice that interprets to, & speaks to several generations. My point is, we need Kevin Smith. He might not think so and disagree but we all know that if Kev-Dog weren't around there would be a significant difference in our world. Sure maybe a small significance but a big enough impact in my life. So hopefully he sticks around reading & sharing from his book of geekdom and continues to make us smile
One thing I've learned over my half century on this earth is that it's exceedingly hard to give more love than you get back. Kevin Smith is about nothing but love, so the reaction he got surprises me not at all. There aren't enough like him in the world.

I'm so glad to hear you're doing well. I was genuinely depressed when I heard about the heart attack. I felt a little better when I read you recovered but it wasn't till I saw this video that I felt better about the whole thing. Your movies and now your podcasts have informed alot of my pop culture intake and I thank you and look forward to many more years of your content.

It's crazy how artist sometimes will never know how big of an impact they've made on people and/or society. Kevin smith will live forever through his work and great spirit. Truly an inspiration.
Hey Kevin. Not sure if you actually read these; but Im going to be one of those weirdos who shares too much publicly.
I'm 40 and survived a massive heart attack 9 months ago. My occlusion was in the RDA though. Either way; the experience is crazy and the angio and stent saved my life too. I also felt hella weird having my groin shaved - my cardiologist ended up using the artery in my arm in the end. The good news i try and concentrate on is that I'm here for my daughter.( I always think it's weird when people pour out to strangers but...) I went through the same battle and i want to encourage you to talk about it. It's refreshing to hear someone else say they felt the same things I felt and you might save someone's life by talking about how subtle the symptoms can be (except that profuse sweating that was terrible) I remember telling one of my friends that I was ok if I didn't make it; the lack of nervousness about dying was strange. The morphine might have had something to do with that.
I'm rambling. Either way there's a lot of good work left for you to do! Good luck with your recovery and from a fan and fellow survivor; take the pills and follow the Drs orders. You have a lot of time left!
"I'm that guy now." That hit me man. I felt that after my diagnosis with ulcerative colitis a couple years ago. It's a new life my friend! We didn't ask for it but as you said, it's the cards we were dealt. Someone told me a few days back that I had a real positive outlook about it, and I said well yeah NOW, but I've been through the initial dark period. After that you gotta move on, anything else is just wasting time that you now know is precious. Live man, live well!
