You can also remove the clamp with a small flat screwdriver and replace it with a new one. Most of the time if you have a leak. One more click of the clamp pliers will fix it. Sometimes you have to get both hands on the pliers to squeeze it hard enough.
If you have a leak with pex tubing clamp. Sometimes caused by the clamp not being tight enough. So I suggest putting your clamping pliers on the leaking joint to clamp better. My camping pliers are ratcheting.

I would try running the still without the PID, you are not really running it correctly, you are not getting enough reflux as your plates are not loaded, get an SCR voltage controller, running higher reflux and control temp by increasing water flow not by decreasing reflux by turning the element on and off
