Barroth was the first time I did a multiplayer quest with my brother, he got the game because he saw me having a lot of fun, I believe he stopped playing the game after lagiacrus
Mate I was stuck on Barroth for so long. I killed him with HBG and I think I probably only used Normal S lvl 1 and didn’t even know about critical distance so you can imagine how long that took.

I think a hardhorn is a 5% chance when you break the horn as a quest reward. Only. Since you must beat the quest to even have a chance of getting it, I doubt he continued trying. Not usually worth it.
Between the player getting 50 extra defense for free and Barroth getting so much end lag after his charge this fight was significantly easier in 3U. In 3 it was brutal and a wall for many players, myself included. Having played both versions recently, I definitely prefer the 3 one, it makes it way more intense.
Different songs. But Im okay with the changed music. The sandy plains I hunted in are familiar, but clearly new. I enjoy the fact it has a new theme. This will still hold a place in my heart as I have hunted so many times here, but I also enjoy the new theme.
I'd just wish there was an option to play the old theme when hunting on this map or the flooded forest map. It's possible to change the hub music so I don't see why it couldn't be an option to change to the original ost for the old maps.
I really love the vocal tracks in Rise, but I think this original version fits a lot better for the kind of desert-y battle ambience I like to use in D&D sessions. The vocals of Rise's version almost get a little distracting.
Man, I completely forgot how great this theme was. Brings me back to the days where I sucked so bad at fighting Diablos I had to make Lance sets just to counter it lol.

Well on online play in the upper quests you can some times find monsters that are exceptional large or small. You can find this information in your monster encyclopedia. Or perhaps it was crowns and not stars? Its been a while.
I finally realized around the time I needed to fight the Barroth that the background music was way down by default. I turned it up. FREEAKKINNNGG EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCC. I was charged up the whole fight. That was the most fun I've had in this game so far, it was amazing.

We ran A Lance (Me) with Guard +2 and Taunt among other skills A Sword and Shield (Mitchel) with Guard +2 and Taunt among other things and Dual Blades (Maddeus) with Sense? (I don't recall the name, the opposite of Taunt)
@Sparkz1607 It also takes some more skill then the longsword because you have to switch forms to maximize damage. It's an awesome weapon once you get that down!

@Night10194 My first Lagia kill, I wore full Bnehabra with Alloy arms and head (because oddly enough, Bnehabra does not include head and arm armor) and used Paralykeet hammer. I took tons of damage, but my armor boosted my Status-based attack success and we all know Lagia's a paralysis chump. I still figure I'm the only one crazy enough to do it, and skilled enough to pull it off because that armor, my friend, is not the thickest in the world lol

Quropecco and Barroth, the two monsters who truly introduced how brutal this game can be and how it got worse from there on out.
