I hadn´t many friends at the moment, nobody to play with or to talk to, but when I first entered the tavern I found 2 people; at that moment, we started playing MH3U every day together for 2 years. But when Christmas 2015 hit, the connection between us was gone. Both of them never came back online again and nobody sent any message. When I think back at the first time we met each other, I just can´t realise that it´s 9 years now since we met for the first time. I think that dragon may have been Dire Miralis, my screen was slightly broken on my 2DS at the time of when I fought Dire Miralis but from the information on the subject that I have gathered, Dire attacked Port Tanzia many years ago and few of the hunters who drove him back remain alive to present day.
I spent a lot of time there with a friend there and we were questing together. I somehow lost contact to him. I bought a Wii U just for this game because I always loved MH. This game gives me so many memories
3U was my first MH game. 3U was one of the games where I expanded my circle of friends, back when local play was a thing. To this day I am still playing with the very same people, albeit we only talk online nowadays due to the ongoing pandemic. I am having a hard time soloing Lucent Nargacuga back then, and now I am looking forward to fighting that cat again once the first title update comes sometime this week.
Great memories of playing and co-streaming this game with someone on a daily basis. The series at this point was still niche, so it brung in alot of viewers. I enjoyed interacting with everyone that I did, but the moment the series went big with World, seems everyone went to streamers like Arrekz and never turned back. Oh well, thank you for the bittersweet memories, MH3U.

i know nothing about monster hunter, but its funny to me how this seemingly plays at a island or at least waterside area with a dock based on the name and picture, and how the main little tune sounds similar to the total drama island theme, which also has a lot of waterside stuff and a dock lol. just a funny coincidence

You walk in to this foreign place, not knowing what to do or where to go, eventually you stumble your way to the tavern and off to the quest counter. Months pass from that fateful day of where you arrived after defeating Ivory Lagiacrus, although you still found yourself in that area accidentally prior to completing the village quests, over time, you hone your skills as a monster hunter, moving up the ranks, Great Jaggi, Rathian, Gigginox, Barioth, Diablos, Rathalos, Lagiacrus, you soon move your way to high rank... Nargacuga, Zinogre, Brachydios, Deviljho, all familiar names of enemies you played with in the dance of death before, eventually you continue to make your way through the ranks until you see... “It” urgent quest, throne on the lunar abyss, you’re G rank now, working up to one final challenge, the dragon that boiled a sea, Dire Miralis, little did I know, there was so much more to come, even after slaying the smelting black dragon. I can never forget my story of my first monster hunter game, even now, years later, having made my way to many other installations of the series, none give off the same feeling of wonder, new experience, and curiosity, nothing compares to your first monster hunter game.
@sean balatbat , you're right , MH series Belong to Sony system , only because they have better device , and this game is just another game in Nintendo , below Mario , and not above like it should be (like it was with PSP)
Not saying Sony didn't do that, Nintendo just paid the high price for the MH franchise and now they are just killing its progress to become a more complete game, and i think Tri is the only MH who has done that in Wii but the gap between progress in Sony and progress is Nintendo still showing this franchise is more cosy in Sony's House. (Progress at a technical, contain, stuff level ...)
Reeeeal curious to know what you would say now, considering the Nintendo releases have left a pretty much inescapable mark on MH, with many of the Tri/Tri Ultimate monsters constantly showing back up, and core gameplay concepts introduced in 4 and Generations becoming series mainstays now.
