    In 2022-2023, Australia was desperate to get more people to come. In 2023-2024, Australia is desperate to get more people to leave.
    What a stark contrast in the span of just 12 months.

    I have been an international student at the university of Western Australia from 2020 to 2023 and due to the pandemic and several health conditions i had, I completed only 1 year's course load and recently applied for a 2 years student visa. Unfortunately, it was refused and I applied for a second student visa and it has been 20 days already. My course started this week and if the decison maker takes any more time, I might have to defer another semester resulting in me losing 2 years. Furthermore, I showed about 70,000 AUD in my finances indicating that I have sufficient funds to live about 2 years in Australia. Oh well, Australia's decision makers are stealing about 42 billion dollars from rejected applicants blatantly like that shows how much the country cares

    Is there gonna be a fast track that may prioritize the critical occupations or the occupations in high need as per indicated by the skillselect official website such as pharmacists like what happened by the end of the previous financial year 2022-2023, and why the number of the invited pharmacists for the current financial year is so modest , however pharmacists are on the critical and shortage occupations list .

    Thanks for the update. Gov keep saying that they need global talents, but what they actually need are talents of immigration, the top-3 researchers in my Lab just moved back to Europe, cuz they found the immigration is too complex for them. I tried to convince them to hire an agent, but they still annoyed by those NATTI and Skill assessment. At the end, another coworker managed to get his PR, but he’s actually the worst in our team in terms of H-index, productivity, and teamwork, except bluffing. Those left are pretty good at what they’re doing, but it turns out that Government just need people that good at immigration and bluffing. it’s just frustrating to see true talents leave.

    Hi Karl, have you noticed your cases for 190 lodged after march 31 2023? There seems to be no s56 or commencement emails which is usually received 2-3 months from grants.
    So far not more tha 5 have been granted from April 2023 lodgements. IS THERE A HARD LINE BETWEEN MARCH AND APRIL 2023 LODGEMENT ONWARDS? HAVE DHA RAN OUT OF PLACES/QUOTA?

    • @estellebright2579
      @estellebright2579 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      DOHA already had enough quota for this FY and if they want to clear the backlog they would have to slow down the invites for another FY. There were just too many invites issued in 2022-2023. And no, there’s no “hard line” between March and April 2023 lodgement, noting DOHA does not finalise visa strictly on date lodgement order.
      I would personally use commencement email as an indication of potential imminent visa application finalisation, but thats just me. Regardless, finger crossed DOHA still have some quota left and can grant some visas in March 2024.

    • @cocoy01
      @cocoy01 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@estellebright2579 what i was trying to conclude was, so far until now there is no s56 or commencement email being given to April 2024 lodged 190 visa applications to date.

    • @estellebright2579
      @estellebright2579 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cocoy01 we both don’t have the full picture of how the visa grant goes. Only DOHA knows. What I mean is prior to March 2024 we already knew they have so much backlog that even if they didn’t issue any new invites 2023-2024 FY it’d still take them 2 years of planning levels to clear them all. And with this in mind, while there is no HARD LINE per se, DOHA would unlikely grant too many more visas not we are heading towards March. Most have been used to deal with pre April 2023 lodgements.

    Thanks for your support Karl. The thing that seems brutal to me is the way they are doing it. If Australia doesn't want students then say it and put a limit of student intake on each education provider so they can filter out. Rather they dont say it right away and are rejecting visas of these poor people. There is so much money and time these students spend, often from poorer countries and then the rejection, it is extremely selfish, brutal, and disgusting. Only if these decision-makers had ever gone through this ordeal themselves then they would have known how much damage they are inflicting. These students might get there visas rejected to other countries as well based on their Australian rejection. What a country, what a government, soo damn greedy. Feel so sad for those students.

    Hi Karl, I submitted my EOI last year in September for skilled visa 190 on 85 points and still waiting for response. My 485 is expiring soon and am not eligible for extension. I understand that we cannot the follow up with immigration for the processing of EOI but is there any waiting time period we suppose to wait for?

      190 for 85 points seems low to me to get an invite in 2023-2024 FY unless your occupation is in extremely high demand and your profile is good. States like VIC and TAS don't care as much about EOI points compared to NSW, QLD and WA. ACT technically doesn't care about EOI points but their matrix is even harder to get competitive points. Maybe you can give 491 invite a try.
