I watched your posting and solved my problem. Thank you, Sir! 2009 Toyota Camry 307,000 miles. Low oil pressure light came on, and check engine light with the 2 codes. Turned out the oil filter very dirty and clogged up and triggered everything else. After replacement and new oil, all lights went off and back on the road. $$$ saved

Thanks a million. Eases my mind and seems easy enough, unless it's the trimming chains of course.

GREAT VIDEO, as I've been searching this issue for awhile now.
    My story:
I've had the engine light and traction light on (and off at times) for over 4 years for 2011 Camry starting in Fall 2019. Estimate at that times was near $1600...and without any car / driving issues, just let it go. And with COVID.....never did anything
Now, 2023 for at least 6M, they are ALWAYS on, and I just failed the inspection test and when they tested, P0012 is now another new code that has popped up. The lights USED to come on/off....but now steadily on.
Car runs GREAT, I have never noticed anything, highway, or around town driving, STILL.
Wondering if it is just a sensor issue, or possible the oil valve, since the oil was "filthy" in 2019 when this first popped up, and the oil change, took care of it.
Any thoughts on how to proceed? As I am starting over with service w/new mechanic shop. Thanks!!

My son got the p0012 code following the low oil light. As well as some clunking sounding like the timing chain in his 03 camry. He immedietlt shut it off and we changed the oil and the solenoid your talkimg about and the clunking sort of went away but u can hear it sparingly while idling. Is it possible the chain can fix itself after the fresh oil change or do you think the chain should be replaced? I figured the oil went low and the chain ran dry for a short period but after adding the oil it relubed and is ok. Is that possibe? Any help would be appreciated.

My oil light came on and I tripped this code on my 2006 Corolla Le. I just had an oil change 3 hounded miles/week ago and I added AT205 for second time. Not twice. I did at205 after 2nd to last oil change then recently after oil change added 6oz of it again. I think that caused the problem. What should I do?

Anything I say here is a guess, but if the parts are good and there are no other codes, it's usually in the wiring. There can be engine-specific problems, such as certain passages getting blocked or other known problems that only that engine has. I would try to find an online forum or similar that has a lot of knowledge on your engine.

Just had p0012 show up on a '13 Sienna we just bought. Van seems to be running great, so I'm really hoping a bad sensor. I just checked all the control valve resistances and they are within spec. So should I attempt to clean the intake VVT sensor, or just replace? Also what about the VVT sensor filter? If it is very dirty could that throw a code? I have no idea where that bugger is either...

Checked the VVT sensor filter too, that might be dirty (clogged)

Hi there from Canada !Im also hvac technician🙂
My car cranks but doesn't starts.
Intake oil control valve bad ,can it cause the car to not start ?Thank you!

    • @HVAC_Mechanic

It may be possible but usually a bad VVT solenoid causes the engine to have less performance or run rough.

It could be because there's low oil pressure in the engine too.

      @HVAC_Mechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

It is hard to say, but if the variable valve timing is good, I would check the wiring.
