In my experience with Toyotas before spending any $$ on new vvt solenoids remove and inspect/clean the inline oil screen filler located just inside the head. Remove the oil line to the top of the head(look for the banjo bolt). Use a small pick or even a screw to gently remove the screen filter. This is fairly common with high mileage engines or oil burning engines.
Thank you! I had the oil sensor replaced because it failed. The new sensor was aftermarket and also failed! I ordered a new OE M. I was hoping that would take care of the fault s. Now I know what to do. At the same time, I had 4 fault codes on valve timing. Your video saved my mental health and most likely, $$$. Thanks again!!
Since Toyota is the 51% owner of Denso, 90% of their electrical parts are Denso. Toyota does not use electronics from a supplier where they are not a majority part-owner.
@@MLGBatman man the oil filter housing the lil silver thing that goes inside the oil filter came off so I just put it back on but it needed that thing to keep it from caving in when the truck was running it was suffocating the oil flow bought a new one have not had a problem since
Thank you sir. I know you published this 2.5 years ago, but it definitely helped me today. I even tried your lube trick.

My '10 has that ticking noise. But no check engine light. Should try this method maybe?
