I really think getting relaxed and visiting your family for new year will help you a lot. You actually seem a little bit stressed and frustrated about why it's not working and i think spending time in your country and with your parents could makes you feel better . Don't worry Sissel you are young and healthy as the doctors said just relax in the journey , as Dorry once said : just keep swimming :)

Studies have showed that stress is no indicator for the pregnancy Rates. Every Month, you have an 25% chance of getting pregnant when you make love 2 days before your ovulation til 1 day After it.
We Are trying for 6 years now and we are at a clinic and doing ivf. I‘m an expert in this now 😅

@@kajunikathats not true though, stress, depression or anxiety can cause otherwise healthy women to have a harder time conceiving. It also affects babies in the mothers womb and can even cause premature birth. I mean, it only makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint, a stressed mother has less resources and energy that should go towards the baby or is going through an event that is not ideal to raise a child in. So stress can definitely play a part in taking longer to get pregnant, even though it is unlikely to be the only cause. I think its good to take your time and not put so much pressure on yourself as a future mother, as it certainly cannot hurt you or your future child if you are going into it relaxed and calm. A positive and calm mindset can do so much good to a persons health, so much so that the placebo effect can even heal people. Never underestimate the effect mental health has on physical health and overall bodily functions.

    • @budum3
      @budum3 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@kajunika I mean stress can cause your period to stop. If stress can mess up your hormones so bad a natural process just stops then I believe it’s quite possible for it to effect your chances of getting pregnant.

Hi Sissel, I know that 4/5 months may feel like a long time but it really isn’t. My husband and I tried for over a year before falling pregnant and many of the people I know have had similar experiences. People just don’t talk about it. Additionally, if I could give you one tip, I found that the ovulation apps were frequently out by a couple of days when compared with the ovulation (pee) sticks you get. So make sure that you’re using the pee sticks as well to ensure that you’re not actually missing your window. What the doctor said though is the best approach, don’t over schedule and try to keep it fun!

Yesss I’m not sad or stressed about it, if anything it gives me more time to optimize my health for baby 💚 but ofc it’s sad when I see a negative test but then that feeling disappears quickly again. Thanks for your tip! I’ll definitely get some strips when I’m back in Korea 😍

It is also important to have your partner with you at appointments like that because even subconciously you might interpret their absence as a sign of them not being there for you. And that thought also can prevent you from getting pregnant (ofc not 100%).

As an international couple as well, I certainly understand how it feels to have family away from you no matter where you are located. I gave birth to my son in July here in Korea and we haven’t had a chance to go back to the states yet for my family to meet him. It’s really hard when I think about all the milestones they are missing. However, thankfully we live in an age today where video calls are available. I do weekly calls with my family so they can see my
son. Even at 5 months old he is start to recognize their faces and voices through the phone. I know once we are able to visit them it’s going to be so special. 🥰

Thank you for sharing Sissel! As someone with fertility struggles I've find it very difficult to talk about. People always come with unwanted advice, and tell me to just relax and that I'm young. But it's hard to 'just relax' when you feel the desire with every fibre of your body. You're allowed to feel!

We don‘t live close to either of the grandparents but my son face times with them since he was 1 year old. He knows exactely with whom he is speaking on the phone and is always so excited and happy to see them and talk to them. Of course meeting them in real life is the best, but you can grow the relationship via video calls in between the visits❤

The relationship your children will have with your family outside of Korea will be soooo very special. Despite them not always being there? They know that every time they do get to see them is like an adventure. There will be so much for them to treasure throughout the years.
My grandma moved far away when I was still quite little and during Summers we’d go stay with her for a couple weeks. Those are some of the fondest memories of my entire life even though that would be the most time I’d get with her in the year.
It’ll all be okay, Sissel. What worries your heart now will one find such a peaceful rest rooted in so much love.💗

As someone that grew up with grandparents on two different sides of the globe, the deep appreciation I gained for the two countries and those cultural ties to my grandparents are something that I grew up cherishing rather than disliking. I loved visiting my grandparents and made me fall in love with the area they lived in as well as truly appreciate my time with them so much more. Obviously missed them when they weren't there, but I feel like your future kid's experience in fully investing themselves into two beautiful cultures and parts of the world outweighs the costs. Best of luck to you from a longtime viewer:)

Dear Sissel. Most people try to get pregnant at least for a year. I know so many of my friends and it took months and months. So please do not stress too much. It will happen. I recommend to really figure out your fertility window. Do not use any online apps and different calculators because these might not be accurate. I tried to use them, but in the end I figured it out it was a completely different days for my body! It will happen. Do not worry. And I cant wait to see you glow!!! Sending virtual huuuuuug!

Hi Sissel, I’ve been trying for nearly 6months too and got pregnant not long ago. I was quite surprised because the chances of naturally conceiving is rather lower due to my condition and of course age wise. We actually decided to go for IVF but the unexpected came 🥰. So take things easy, rest and eat well (Dont eat raw food eg sashimi and avoid processed food plus coffee - advice I received from my gynae). Remember to put your trust in the universe. You will be pregnant soon without both of you realising your baby’s arrival. 😊

As a child of an international couple I've always held my grandparents close to my heart and appreciate being taught two different cultures (European and Asian). It was hard to feel different from other kids growing up but I learned that it's what made me special and a privilege to experience both cultures.
I understand that you worry about the child's relationships overseas but the distance will surely just make it more treasurable. Taking many trips and visits in the first 12 years made the connection to my overseas family strong. And videocalls does make an impact.
I really hope you and Jake get blessed with a little one in the nearest future. Sending much love and good wishes to you guys ❤️

Hey Sissel! I remember Julie and Camilla's IVF journey and how Julie often shared how overwhelmed she was about unwarranted and downright illogical advice. So I just wanted to let you know that it is okay if you ever need to take some time off social media for your mental health. In an already stressful situation, getting advice from hundreds of people all over the world can be a bit too much. What might work for someone else, may not work for you and that can add to the frustration.
All in all, this is to say that even though we're the same age, we have highly different goals when it comes to family so I'm not the best person to comment on your pregnancy journey. I'm just really happy that you and Jake are taking the step that feels right. And to quote your mom from your last video - it just means that the time isn't right (just yet).
I hope you have an amazing time in Denmark and I hope you have a beautiful Christmas alongside your family! As always, cheers all the way from Portugal 💚

was lovely to see this traditional way and to see this part of your journey, the female nurse seemed so lovely, i'd love to visit. As someone who has been a nanny in the past for many years and knowing how full on and non stop childcare is / seeing mothers loose themselves to motherhood, i'm really interested to hear you thoughts on being a young mother and how you feel you'll handle / like to continue with your career. part of me is always watching and shouting not now!! wait!! you have so much of your life to still live, and until i turned 30 i never realised how young i was in my 20's and for a woman its possibly the only time in our lives where we can live for ourselves and be selfish, so as a person who feels this way i'm really curious and open to hearing how others feel about having kids young. Best of luck gaining energy and de-stressing and have a lovely time at home

Hi Sissel! I hope that you’re doing well! I think that you have a lot of expectations on how pregnancy looks and is supposed to be. No one can blame you because as women we grow up with these expectations. I think you should find your journey and embrace it, you’re young and healthy. Travelling to see your family is going to do wonders for you! You seem to be feeling homesick. Please, be nice to yourself and enjoy the calmness before the little one arrives, do stuff you won’t be able to do with a baby and perhaps try writing a letter to your little one about anything you’re feeling before they’re here. Hope you enjoy your holidays, eat yummy food, take care of yourself and make lots of memories with your loved ones! ❤

The last part deeply moved me... My mom had a similar experience: when she got pregnant with me, her whole side of the family moved 8 hours away. Though it was the same country, people didn't travel as casually in the late 90's/early 2000 (at least in Western Europe). She had a really really close bond with her mom, so it was hard for her. There's only so much a phone call can do (or now Skype/FaceTime), right? But, with hindsight, the distance probably helped strengthen our bond both between my mom and I, and between my grandparents and I. Of course, I wish we would've lived nearer to each other, spend Christmas and birthdays together instead of videocalls. But, on the other side, I got to spend half of my summer break at my grandparents and since it was only once a year, that time was really special and spent meaningfully. It made me realize pretty early how precious our relationship to our loved ones are. And to this day, I still Skype my grandpa twice a week! I'm not saying it was all happiness and rainbows. Each year it was harder to say goodbye. My heart aches for my mom the most because she couldn't leave work for a whole month to go with me. I know she regrets not spending more time with her family. But distance doesn't mean your child and your parents' relationship won't be close, special and meaningful!! Lots of love and encouragements for your journey

Oh Sissel! I have followed your journey on social media for a long time. To see your emotions regarding your parents and the distance ... I understand that too. It was not across the world but my parents live far away from me and that has definitely been hard but I can assure you that a bond even with them at a distance will happen between your child and your parents. We are lucky to live in a world now where you can speak to one another and see one another at the click of a button and although it's not the same as being in person I'm sure that this will help that relationship to blossom. You are going to be a wonderful mother xoxox

What I know and heard is:
    - cut out smoking and alcohool completely
-diminish drastically caffeine and if u get a bit stick to green tea or matcha because they are rich in antioxidants
    - get healthy fats from fatty fishes almonds and olive oils
    - get iron
    - try meditations and massages and baths more frequently
    - do more cardio exercise like walks swim hike etc... not necessarely intense
    - SUPPLEMENTS: Maca, Fenugreek, Beepollen
And in the end take it slow and gently don't try too hard try to see it as means to feel more relaxed etc slowly and then it will come
    Hope it helps ❤

Hi Sissel ! Just wanted to encourage you a little bit in regards to the last part of the video :)
When I was 6 my parents and I moved far away from all my grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends. Each year I had to take 7 days train (my mom was afraid of planes ) across the country to visit the rest of my family. So I spent each summer with my grand parents and to this day I consider myself a child of both worlds, I grew up in 2 cities at once. Even though it was hard and we missed each other and I guess it was even harder for my parents to not have any support system, but now I honestly believe that it was an amazing childhood.
I learned that just because someone is far always doesn’t mean you love them less. I grew up a bit more independent because I was used to feel a bit on my own. But I always knew I have an enormous support system everywhere in the world.
I love my grand parents and honestly leaving far away made me appreciate them even more.
I’m not saying that it’s the best possible option ever to live so far away but if that’s the case, I can cite tons of positive moments :)
I wish you nothing but luck in your pregnancy journey ❤

Hi Sissel, I'm very new around here as I just discovered your channel yesterday. But I guess it was meant to be as I am also currently trying to get pregnant. We've only been on this journey since October but I can genuinely understand what you're feeling. We know it can take time, we know so many couples try for way longer, but it's still a slap in the face when we get that negative. As you said in response to other comments, every month trying is the opportunity to optimize the baby's health and a safe and smooth pregnancy. Thanks for sharing your journey, it truly means a lot. Praying for you, myself & all women to have a little one to snuggle soon 🫶

I’m pretty sure you won’t see this, but if it makes you feel better, I had a great relationship with my French grandparents even though I grew in up in Canada. We visited them each summer and it never really felt like they weren’t part of my life. I felt as though I cherished more of the time I was able to spend with them because of that challenge. You’re already such a great internet older sister, I already know you’ll make an amazing mother.

Actually, I was more close to my grandparents in Japan than my grandparents that lived 40minutes away (in Switzerland) and that I saw a lot more growing up. Just to say that the number of times you see the person or the distance is maybe not that important to build a relationship ❤
