So, my "check 4x4" and wrench came on this morning as my truck was sitting the parking lot idling. Hadn't tried to shift to 4wd or anything. Also i have no DTC for this. Any ideas? I'll also add that when i go to switch from 2H to 4H/L nothing changes on the dash. I also cannot engage the rear Diff Lock.
This could be your issue. I would give it a try first it just hasn’t happened enough yet to trip a code I bet. But it may need more diagnosing. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

So it’s corroded yet you can turn it by hand but that electric motor that’s supposed to be turning it can’t turn it 🤔
It’s not that it can’t turn it…… it isn’t seeing the position due to the corrosion 🧐.
