The original spending bill was scrapped because Musk has business interests in China. In 2023, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory accounted for 22.5% of the company's overall revenue and Musk has expressed interest in expanding his operations in China and possibly building a second factory there. Any restrictions on American investments or operations in China would have a negative effect on Tesla. This bill would have restricted or prohibited investments in "sensitive technologies" in China, including semiconductor chips, quantum technology and AI, as well as Tesla's self-driving technology. Musk's intervention was self-serving because he has a clear conflict of interest. We should expect more of this in the future, where policies are crafted or modified to accomodate the business interests of the American Oligarchy over the interests of ordinary Americans.
"Breeding line" is also Elon. He has at least 12 children we know about (including 1 "trans" child that is "dead to him"), by at least 4 different mothers (including 1 former employee he allegedly harassed and "abused" into at least 1 child, so far). No matter which angle you choose to look at Elon Musk from, he is a ; despicable, ketamine addicted, scheming, racist, misogynistic, lying, sexist, xenophobic, dipwad, that had not actually invented anything more than the code that runs PayPal. You can take Musk out of South Africa, but you can't take the Afrikaner out of Elon.
I am oft reminded of this part of Charlie Chaplins final soeech in his film The Great Dictator which feels very relevant these days: "Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost…"
Controlling the narrative-providing an alternative view of how better things could be - will go a long way in educating those Americans who voted for, and knew they were voting for, the chaos. What's important is our INVOLVEMENT- speaking up, organizing, protesting, demanding accountability and change.
Could not have said it better. Our Constitutional Republic is a active participation form of government, all citizens are supposed to know and understand the issues, and be actively involved in resolving them together.
A congress pay raise in the bill should be enough for a No vote all around. Make sure the people get financially on track before worrying about your own. $175,000 average pat for congress is well more then enough.
@@LauraineHowattpansy2018 For people who think the most important thing to do is keeping up with your bills never like the words its only this much , or it not very much more. Those are the words that get you into 35 trillion in debt.
While the Congressional "pay raise" seems stupid and unnecessary at the moment when we need a "balanced budget" that doesn't add mega dollars to the national debt - it is not a huge raise. Think of that pay as an "incentive" for Congress to do the right thing and deliver an actual full government funding bill and strengthen the existing "guardrails" against executive branch power and overreach. We just have to come together enough to actually hold Congress to do their dang jobs!
It’s an expensive job to have. People in Congress have to have homes in DC and their district or state they represent, plus an office to care for and meet constituents. A good representative comes from an ordinary background where the family had budget struggles. They got a good education in something relevant: law, history, economics, international relations and diplomacy…. And they still want to serve. People like that could make a lot more in the private sector so don’t be so cheap that only rich people to whom the salary is peanuts can afford to be in government.
Is the professor suggesting that American politicians act like European politicians? I mean is he suggesting that the losers of this election do actual opposition work from now on?
@ In a Two-Party system? It works in Europe because there are more than two parties seated in parliament, and because there are governing faction is always a coalition between two or three parties.
@@Sophiedorian0535 You are correct in that there are more than just two parties, but here in the UK coalition governments are unusual : - Labour/Liberal 1977-1978 - Conservative/Liberal Democrat from 2010 to 2015 and the "Confidence & Supply" agreement with the Northern Irish DUP under Theresa May's government in 2017 which kept her minority Conservative government in power (just!). There are always alternative proposals from a number of parties challenging the government's position and a parliamentary system which enables their views to be debated.

Can't wait for the presser where Musk says...." He came up to me...big fat guy...sir!...Sir!...tears in his eyes....SIR!...what do I do now SIR???.."
He told you. He is Dark Maga, who will hold our military
Magas spoke landslide
"A whiff". There was a whiff in 2016, now it's a pervasive stench
So much for the American experiment
A British style 'shadow cabinet' would be a good idea.
Multiple Choice: We will soon live in:
a. an Autocracy
b. a Kleptocracy
c. a Kakistocracy
d. a Theocracy
e. an Oligarchy
F. I voted for Elongated Muskrat!
The Middle Ages showed we could have all at once.
All the above!
Currently... B and C
A real "Kaka ocracy" and it stinks 💩
The federal government has to be run like a household, because that is the only thing it could ever be modeled after.
CRIMINALS DON'T BREAK ANY LAWS.
THEY WORK WITHIN THE LAW TO GET WHAT THEY WANT.
Prof Snyder for President.
this is what i thought last night watching it unfold....4 more years of chaos!!
The Nat'l Debt keeps growing. kicking the Debt Can down the road. Congress has added $33.4 TRILLION to the Nat'l Debt since 1974. Now adding more. When will ANY budget STOP the bleeding? We have to stop this Debt from crushing us.
duh, without the infrastrucre money, america would be in a real mess
Vote for someone that promises to rise taxes if you care about the debt so much.
Wars are VERY expensive
Luigi showed us the way
Are we supposed to keep spending until we are 100 trillion in debt or worst???...its about time we break this spending habbit
duh, stop the tax cuts for the richest.
@LauraineHowattpansy2018 how about we cut taxes across the board instead??
@2paczghozt100 No. The richest Americans already got a large scale "tax cut" when Trump was last in office. Very little of that has been regained, they have "earned" no further cuts, only paying their fair share.
@Williestyle-RobotechxMacross-x i think that's where you ppl go wrong... your so busy going after the rich you forget about the middle class..stop worrying about the rich and help the middle class... the rich will always find a way to stay rich... if you tax the rich like crazy, they will just raise prices on the middle class to off set the lost... and we don't live in a communist country so you can't force them to drop prices
@@Williestyle-RobotechxMacross-x so you wanna give more money and power to the government??? Why not live in China??
Dont forget RFK, it should be the Mumps Regime
Do not soil Bobby Kennedy's legacy and dedication like that - it is : RFK, *Jr.*
@@Williestyle-RobotechxMacross-x My bad.
It's reminiscent of a pretty cheap James Bond movie, whereby the villain is a spoiled white South African, with a mother who opened a breeding line.
Yes, transparency!
I am oft reminded of this part of Charlie Chaplins final soeech in his film The Great Dictator which feels very relevant these days:
"Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
Love and Light!
That whiff is the sent of BS...
The mump regime 😅
That's a perfect analysis and accurate 👌
Controlling the narrative-providing an alternative view of how better things could be - will go a long way in educating those Americans who voted for, and knew they were voting for, the chaos. What's important is our INVOLVEMENT- speaking up, organizing, protesting, demanding accountability and change.
Could not have said it better.
Our Constitutional Republic is a active participation form of government, all citizens are supposed to know and understand the issues, and be actively involved in resolving them together.
Ari is one of the last major media that I trust.
You can sue him for violating your rights, corruption...and and and
President Musk and First Lady Donald Trump. Both gross
Mississippi for trump
Except muskTrump bromance doesn't last four more weeks?
😂 Just like Harris was going to be your next president. Don't believe the lies.
I believe that both Trump & Musk only overreact when their interests are threatened without regard for consideration of the interest of society.
This last CR had several provisions which I believe threaten their self interest and so we have to endure their tantrums
I'm looking 👀 at MOE,LARRY AND CURLY when I see DRUMPF, VANCE and ELON 😅😅😅
You needed this budget crisis to know the chaos that a Trump presidency will entail. Don’t people have a memory that extends beyond 5 years?
Dementia incompetent criminal Biden is still president why isn’t he fixing the budget?
We the people now
Every time someone you know who voted for Trump says "This isn't what I voted for!" remind them that, yes, yes it is what they voted for.
So I thought Vance was vp why is musk is taking over
He is going to get deported with USHA and his family
Because mags want musk but like vance too
Wishful thinking that people watching Fox care about Democratic alternative proposals
"whiff", what a great descriptor.
A congress pay raise in the bill should be enough for a No vote all around. Make sure the people get financially on track before worrying about your own. $175,000 average pat for congress is well more then enough.
minimal increase for congressmen/women
Trump: Reduce inflation by asking for unlimited spending and passing the rest onto consumers via tariffs.
Is the professor suggesting that American politicians act like European politicians? I mean is he suggesting that the losers of this election do actual opposition work from now on?
We have to. What other choice do we have?
@ In a Two-Party system? It works in Europe because there are more than two parties seated in parliament, and because there are governing faction is always a coalition between two or three parties.
@@Sophiedorian0535 You are correct in that there are more than just two parties, but here in the UK coalition governments are unusual :
- Labour/Liberal 1977-1978
- Conservative/Liberal Democrat from 2010 to 2015
and the "Confidence & Supply" agreement with the Northern Irish DUP under Theresa May's government in 2017 which kept her minority Conservative government in power (just!).
There are always alternative proposals from a number of parties challenging the government's position and a parliamentary system which enables their views to be debated.
Make sure ANY guest you have on your Corporate Media platform is selling a book. I love Timothy Snyder, but there's a reason legacy media is dying. I hope you guys have your resumes up-to-date; we're sick of the lies and distractions you've given us since, oh...decades now. I'm a liberal, btw. As Timothy Snyder said, "There's a third way..." 🤔
It is indeed a whiff of what the future may be...a whiff of sewer gas.
Yes. You will get NOTHING. Time to balance the budget.
Citizen Kane: "...Rosebud, Rosebud."
Elon Musk: "...Neener neener neener."
WHERE'S THE PROTESTS?
The Republicans are still celebrating their "win" with Trump. The Democrats are just trying to not get beaten up in the streets, man (just like Michael Cohen keeps waking back everything he ever said against Donald...)
Better wstch trump will put them in jail am musk
For ever how long the shutdown deal lasts, it'll happen many times in our future.
Purge the swamp
you think they are doing this for you 🤣
thank you to first lady donald trump for being a loyal, supportive companion to President Musk
Yes, the idea of parliametry govt is important. These days especially gen Z love to debate, the love to see people compete head to head. -these things keep them engaged.
There are crucial bills or aspect that can come through Congress that can only be done with parliametry style.
Perhaps it is merely a problem of redesigning the floor of congress to actually look like it. I think this is a great idea
I still need to read your book. There is a principle you mention that interest me.
Thanks for the video
Not so much a whiff as a dreadful pong.
Boycott musk, dump and the right-wing now!!!!!😂😂😂😂
With RFK Jr., we will probably end up with the mumps...
Of the 24 countries ranked as full democracies (the US is not one of them) 18 have a parliamentary system of government. Only three have a presidential system of government. The other three lie somewhere in between.
