💯💯💯There are more than 5 problems with super trainers. This is a good start... You missed the real first super trainer... Super Trainers - How did we get here and what are they? th-cam.com/video/gpJspTW6iFY/w-d-xo.html
@@SagasuRunning it’s crazy how much we were on the same page. Ultra genre/mad max etc… since I’m newer to running , I really love the historical context you give in a lot of the videos
Thank you, Miles. It is really just preventative anterior pelvic tilt work I should be doing in the gym but I’m too busy talking carbon plates into the ether
Ok, you misspelled my. I thought that you were informing us of the latest, tech to to hit the market: MU. I should know better, I miss-spell muh shoes all the time. MUH: Southern speak.
I do wonder that a lot. Heard a little mixed reviews but mostly positive . I wonder if the foam is as dense as the sc trainer v1 with good rebound or if it’s a bit softer and I will sink into it more. Only one way to find out
I would consider the ASICS Magic Speed 3 as a super trainer. Race day upper, superior training foam that feels great with the carbon plate, and a thicker outsole in the same configuration as the MetaSpeed shoes. It feels great at all paces for me as a midfoot striker, but the roll off the toe makes you want to push the pace. A great all around shoe and reminds me of the feeling I got with the Endo Speed 1.
Thanks for looking out Matt beier. Similar to this year, I always run out of money when the Magic speed releases and never circle back for it. You had me at endo speed 1. I’ll have to pick it up when it’s on sale - maybe instead of socks or cologne I’ll get magic speed 3s for Father’s Day
@@MidLifeRunner That sounds like a great plan. After seeing the Magic Speed 4 and the massive changes, I would rather have the Magic Speed 3. It is a slightly more aggressive shoe compared to the Endo Speed 1, but it rolls so nicely at speed especially when you hit that sweet spot. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it in the future.
Adding a superlative at the start of each shoe name let's you charge 20-30 dollars RRP .. didn't you realise it. .. Funny enough my favorite trainer of the last 12 months was the topo cyclone 02 .. a low stack of pebax with no need for a plate as it was low enough to the ground not to need a stability aid .. go figure .. quite like the rebel v4 at the moment (and yes I do have a wider foot) , a bit thicker but blends a little peba into eva for a nice but of return.. Likely I am just not super enough to see the justification for the 70's 300g + platform trainers .
I ran out of money before I could get the topo cyclone and then it wasn’t available in my size. I really want to try that shoe. The rebel v3 was one of my top shoes of 2022 and I bought a back up pair just to remember it as shoes get more and more structured. I want to make a video on what is becoming a more traditional “low stack” running shoe. I like the brooks Hyperion tempo, the trinoosa, and to a lesser extent the vomero 16 and floatride energy 5 from Reebok. I use them for the gym and for the treadmill on Mondays .
So with the likes of the Endorphin Pro 4 do you still "like" it and are pleased you got it and will get good use out of it despite seemingly not wanting to use it for its apparent reason - to race in? Or is it more you will use it as it is OK and may as well get some use out of it but really you wished had not bought it?
Im going to have to circle back to this one as I haven’t run in the shoe at various paces enough to be sure of a final verdict. Confident in the first impressions but I need to race in them. (I do have a 10k coming up). These shoes were actually sent to me (not by Saucony but still, a rarity. So, it does influence the answer, meaning, if I had bought them, I would have likely anticipated a race day shoe (as advertised) and felt some way about them coming up short maybe. As it stands, I had no expectations when receiving them and I’m grateful to test them out. That being said - I do like them more than the pro 3, which gave my Achilles some fits and was a little too stiff and controlling. The more pliability of v4 is a positive for my foot 🦶. I feel like I have more control. I’ll do a full review later in the year at some point. How’s your training coming along ?
@@MidLifeRunner ah thanks. Part of the reason for the question might be apparent in my next video. I quite liked the Pro 3 and even did one low key race in it and some intervals. It was OK for "easy" but not really a shoe I would consider reaching for too often for that. So I decided to pass on the Pro 4 as although looks promising felt it might well just turn out to be another expensive super trainer for me. Running not going so well. Got a bit of a foot/Achilles/arch issue so your plantar vid struck accord as is "sort of" a similar area.
MK! You think Cole or Evan can come pace my sub 18 attempt on Sunday? 🤣 I relate to their workout videos because we are running such similar splits, even though I’m training more by effort
Thank you I thought I was the only crazy person who bought the Endorphine Pro 3 & Deviate Nitro Elite 1, both on sale for training only. I have not picked my race shoe yet. Super trainers are glorified daily trainer. I wish I could buy all of them. But I really don't think they are necessary in your rotation for any purpose. Mach 6 Rebel V4 Novablast 4 Triumph 21 can do everything a supertrainer does.
💯I would take the Novablast 4 over the Boston 12 and sc trainer v2 any day. I bought the deviate nitro elite v1 for threshold runs too. The sc elite v3 is a zesty lil number too that doesn’t have super shoe punch but I love training in it . Nimble.
I will not use a plated shoe during a training block. I don't want the shoe to do the work for me. I'll only use a plated shoe during a race when it matters.
My beef: Super trainers that use the same foam, even a similar/same plate as the company's super shoe/ racer. So gues what? They wear out as quickly as the racer models, maybe more quickly with a lot of "-plodding miles".

“When everyone is super, no one will be.. “ one of my favorite quotes from the Incredibles.
I got 5 on it for the inevitable Neo Vista super trainer review ❤
🙌🏼 Nick at this point you’ve almost bought the shoe for me. It. Is. Inevitable
You’ve clearly nailed the TH-camr sit down transition.
It's one of my favorite gags. It must be tiring to film though. 😂

Alphafly V1 is the definition of SUPER 🎉🎉🎉
Heartily agree - The Endorphin Pro 3's are mu supers.
Stellar choice .

Wonder how the Mizuno Neo Vista will be?
Really really lookin good so far on other reviews.
I do wonder that a lot. Heard a little mixed reviews but mostly positive . I wonder if the foam is as dense as the sc trainer v1 with good rebound or if it’s a bit softer and I will sink into it more. Only one way to find out

Mizuno wave Rebellion Pro V1 is a Supershoe.
Yes I have only tried the 2 but it may be my favorite super shoe this year
Love that you bleeped the wrong word.😂
It’s in the details for me 🧐

The problem with last year raceday shoes is that the aren't available anymore. Or you have euro size 50.
😂 that’s true . They do sell out awfully fast. And ASICS run a tight inventory so they’re never on sale
Been looking forward to the next one since the last one
Good to hear. I’ll have to make these part of my regular rotation
I have the Cielo X1.. Very close to the Alphafly V1 so Supershoe?
I’ve heard it’s got a great underfoot feel but it’s too heavy for the marathon distance. I will purchase it when it goes on sale
No no no you are special 🤜🏼🤛🏼😁
Nike Tempo was the first super trainer imo
You’re right. It was already out when I got into running so I missed the train. Endorphin Speed was the 2nd one

Why do I feel like I just went to a therapy session?
That’ll be 40 dollars, Matt. Please, I need more running shoes
That og endo speed was special for sure🎉
True Words 👏🏻. Interesting perspective

Prime x 2 strung my guy
The best of the mad max shoes. I like it over SC Trainer v1 and skyward x
I find the latest obsession with super high tech gear in running to be kinda gross. Whatever happened to soul runners?
I imagine there will be a trend eventually that returns to more minimal and soft surface running. I’m here for all of it

☠️ oh yes - el jefe always carries a plethora of super trainers
Dont like to bulky shoes
I prefer duper trainers...
