    Just to clarify some things:
The video is not about debating who is wrong, who is lying, who we should believe. I do share my opinions, but I don't want that to take away from the most important message I wanted to convey:
We can be unwitting consumers of planted content that aims to manipulate our opinions, our thoughts and our values. The problem is deeper than just deciding which celebrity to support, but more about how this kind of behaviour (astroturfing) can shape our society and politics, which would affect us on a much deeper level.
We can debate and express what we believe in the comments (and I welcome it, as long as it's constructive and not abusive), but please don't forget the point above.
The legal complaint (I understand this is technically NOT a lawsuit yet) is definitely another PR move as it was way too easy to read and didn't clearly set out the legal basis for the filing and damages sought. Explained by a real lawyer --> th-cam.com/video/P0DgvV6aM0w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dW5GKY9AH_husDSu However, that doesn't mean BL wasn't harassed on set.
In the end, most of us will draw the conclusion that both parties are terrible, Hollywood is terrible, etc etc. But that's not the lesson here, the real issue is media manipulation of public opinion and how this affects our everyday lives and values.
Also, I just want to add I've definitely lost subscribers due to deviation from my usual beauty content, which definitely does makes me a bit sad as I'm a very small TH-camr! However, you all have a choice of what you want to see, and I'm sorry if this wasn't what you signed up for. Next video will be about my worst and best purchases in 2024! ;)

Love that you’re bringing awareness to this - I’ve made it a personal goal to never get mentally/emotionally involved in anything regarding celebrities, as we don’t know these people at all. And given the patriarchal/rape culture that exists in Western society, none of this should be surprising, but it sadly is - we have to do better in terms of our group-think. It’s way too easy to jump on a bandwagon against someone, and that someone usually tends to be a woman. Thank you again!! x

I still don't care for BL. The claims are very specific. Those behaviors predatory. She can be a victim and unlikeable at the same time. I never cared to watch the movie or read the book. Not my genre.

I stood with Amber Heard during that absolute clownshow of a trial, despite not particularly liking the sort of person her public image and conduct had conveyed her as-the smear campaign perpetrated by Depp's team against her was just so, so glaringly obvious, to me, and while she is an imperfect victim, the facts which emerged from the trial itself, and their past history, clearly showed me that she IS a victim. (By their past history I mean a few things, but the most well-known to some might be the fact that Depp had previously tried to sue The Sun for defamation in the UK-they had called him a wife-beater, which the record proved he was-and lost. I don't like that paper either, it's a tabloid and it engages in all the dirty sensationalism and predatory hunting such publications do, but the gleeful headline they had once the trial was over was just...muah.)
I dislike Blake Lively a lot more than I've ever disliked Amber, but when I heard that Baldoni had hired Depp's crisis management team...some alarm bells did begin to ring for me. It's not that such firms work exclusively with unsavoury people; it's that there are many you could pick from. Why THAT one? Why specifically THAT one, which has been so successful in completely tearing out a high-profile woman, which has orchestrated such a vicious hate campaign against her? I asked myself these questions and sort of looked askance at the entire situation.
I will continue to cheerfully, passively dislike this woman; but I also believe her in what she alleges. One thing that stood out to me even back in the summer was the point some were bringing up WRT people associated with the film mass-unfollowing Baldoni. No matter how much power Blake has personally, no matter how much power she has by relying on her equally, if not more influential husband...it's not like Baldoni himself is some innocent little lamb in the woods. Offending him by quietly showing your support for her out of fear that you'll get blacklisted if you do not conform to some sort of directive people were imagining she'd put down just didn't make sense-he could eff up your career too. As he has, it seems, quite successfully done to Blake's very own.

Regarding the credibility of The NY Times author, I recommend watching the most recent videos posted by Kjersti Flaa (she’s the journalist that posted about the whole “bump” interview situation). She shines light on how this NY Times article referenced her video in an extremely misleading way and has then since been getting a ton of hate from people saying that she’s a corrupt journalist, which she argues strongly against.
My point is basically that Blake Lively’s team clearly have their own agenda as well and don’t seem to care who they take down in the process either, so she’s definitely not unfamiliar or innocent with this whole “smear campaign” concept. Just thought I’d throw this out there.

I saw KF’s second video too. I don’t know her truth but my main issue was the ‘why didn’t she come out with this sooner if it was that bad’ comment as stated in my video. 😩

      @knjparadise 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

kjersti flaa also posted a bunch of pro johnny depp content during their trial. i find it very suspicious that she had been holding onto that video for years only to release it during an astroturf campaign. she also released another piece of content fairly recently, which is also pretty suspicious

@@knjparadise This!! I maybe believe she wasn't paid, but she WAS motivated to post this years later to capitalize on the media attention on BL at the time. Kjersti wanted to cash in on the attention. I don't believe she didn't know about the controversy for a minute. Her tone in the videos in the last two days was also very offputting.

I definitely had to keep track, in my head, that Justin hired Johnny Depp's PR team. Blake and Ryan DID get married on a plantation. I took note of the whole cast siding with Blake Lively and avoiding Justin. I thought it was smart for Blake Lively to avoid commenting about the rumors on her socials.
I was kind of waiting for more information to come out. The information presented in the lawsuit gives a lot of context that was definitely missing.

Yes BL has done some very dodgy things in the past. We will never know the truth, only a version of it from fed by both sides PR. But it’s more important to realise how media manipulats the public and I’m going to be so much more discerning about everything now 🤯

I don’t think it’s about figuring out whom to believe - it’s more about being able to critically think about the fact that two celebrities are having this very public conflict, and again, a woman claiming sexual harassment has been (very successfully) publicly vilified. If we don’t know the people or facts, we shouldn’t choose sides, and we definitely shouldn’t so easily defame a public figure we don’t personally know, either, especially when that person is a woman.

  • @jazmeen04

The last statement you made us the most important one. Focus on understanding what facts are vs what speculations are. Don't allow yourself to be manipulated by any form of media. This is has been going on for so long. It's funny how some people from some countries think they are so free and immune to propaganda when in reality, that's all they have been subjected to all their lives.

I really enjoyed this video. I never researched the Johnny Dept case and stayed removed from it on social media, but I was aware that many ppl switched their sides to later defend her. This story caught my eye on social media because I had read Colleen Hoover novels in the past, and know of Justin from his work on Jane the Virgin. Although I’ve never read his book, it’s been on my tbr for a while and I believe his feminist image. I will be following this story with interest and hope that all victims of his abuse on set receive justice.

I strongly disagree that she's in the right here. She can feel however she wants to feel, and she can also be out of line with her accusations.
His history is consistently good across the board. Hers is riddled with drama and horrific social blindness....look up her wedding...I suspect she's a brat and had this been someone she respected she would have acted differently. She ruined a movie that was important to so many people because she's used to getting her way. Look at the history of people they've worked with. It's very telling.

though i don't care for either heard and depp, at the time i thought the public support for Depp and smear campaign against Heard was obvious and malicious but not surprising. i remember being torn apart by friends/family for even suggesting he might have been in the wrong too. I knew this was astroturfed and ignored it. I was never going to see the movie as its not something I need to overcome and then watch. I just thought it was the Republican obsession with any woman ever who is friends with Taylor Swift since Trump fantasizes about her, loudly and in speeches dozens of times a day. I never thought it was the co-star!
I also gigured Reynolds and Lively were kinda snobby but their charities and causes are really awesome and they dont just hand money out, they labor for these causes so I view them as unproblematic and like each of them in some movies and don't care.
I just wanted yo point out that the whole "this girl isn't nice or submissive enough so she must be lying about anything she might say I did...you know...in the future" is a male plague. They do this every second of every day and its hundreds at a time. The men in the Army did it to me. Their evidence? Rumors with only my rejection as any truthful part of their accusations. I was SA-ed in the Army and when I brought my case, they all turned into nasty little teenagers in high school and relied on their rage that I said no as the reason I was bad. And some involved with my actual assault told me to my face that no one would believe me when I told them what they were about to do to me. This is a man problem. And people need to stop falling for it.
