A very clever subscriber commented about price of gold compared to this concealer so: Concealer £67.5/gram Gold £70-71/gram Her eyeliner costs £24 and has 1.2grams, her lipliners are £20 or £21 and has 1.2grams Hope you guys enjoyed this review and discussion about the price of this product. Don’t forget to subscribe (please don’t accidentally unsubscribe 😂😂😂), like and comment, it really means a lot to me. 😊❤
I thought it was going to be the same amount of product as her eye/lip liners seeing as they're the same size! LE and Victoria Beckham quickly trying to be luxury when they have mid-range audiences.
Honestly, the review we've all been waiting for. I really do enjoy a lot of Lisa's products and general artistry but I hesitated before seeing your thoughts because to be blunt, other reviewers of her products will fawn over them and tell us that this is the greatest thing since the invention of concealers, and I want someone to be more honest with their reviews. Looking at the product, price, and performance, I think this looks very nice for some use cases but even to make her technique easier it doesn't feel world changing. The biggest plus for her brand is that I feel she's the only one who makes true neutral shades, most concealers lean too warm for me. I may pick up a shade similar to my skin tone for that reason and leave it there. Definitely appreciate your thoughts as I feel more informed if I want to spend my money on this product.
I agree that her shade choices are excellent. As an MUA, she can use her experience and eye to select appropriate undertones. Brands seem to have a target complexion zone that they excel at (generally speaking, and just based on my own complexion and tests). The LE selection has worked the best for my medium golden-olive skin, something that other brands typically have too peach, too green, or too yellow products for.
Negativity, even if fair, doesn’t make something unbiased. The concealer is the best I’ve ever used, the issues I have with regular concealer don’t exist with this.
@@GG-kn2se thank you for your comment but I’m not biased, I’m presenting my experiences with the product which is mostly positive. However the price is astronomical, please see my pinned comment. I have raved about LE’s foundation which is my holy grail and many of her other products (highlighter, blush lucent lip, enhance lipliners). No product is going to be amazing for EVERYONE. I am giving thorough and honest discussion of my thoughts, so I don't take it lightly when I'm accused of being biased or dishonest.
@@GG-kn2se I'm glad you're enjoying the concealer! I don't think Aijing is biased as all, and as someone who owns nearly all (if not all) of LE's collection I feel she has a pretty fair selection of reviews of Lisa's products that are very positive, I ended up buying the liquid silks even though I found they were expensive based on her review. And honestly, I highly recommend them and I can't wait for Ione to come back in stock. Personally, I want someone who will test a product on its merits instead of telling me that it's a flawless, most innovative, worlds-first, never seen before product. That is harder to find for Lisa's brand than I would like, so I personally have to say that Aijing's reviews are a significant help in that respect.
I just received and tried the concealers 3, 4 ,5. This pencil system is very practical, however i find the result a little cakey on my dry and mature skin. I prefer the Nars one. I love your videos and your honesty about the products ❤
you're such a refreshing and important voice to have as reference when reviewing LE's products because you offer dissent and perspective, which is so rare somehow, among the LE community. Whenever she releases a new product, most reviewers have nothing but overwhelmingly good things to say. I rare find a balanced review, which makes yours even more important. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I think its a ridiculous price for what it is and the amount of product you actually get. Lisa is an amazing well respected creative makeup artist and inventor and I really appreciate all the videos she gives us on TH-cam for free, full of tips and techniques. She is also an excellent saleswoman. Sorry to Lisa but my hard earned cash is not going to be spent on this. I really appreciate your review and thoughts on this concealer. I just found your channel recently and subscribed. Look forward to watching more.
Great review, as always! I tried it at the pop-up, on a very conveniently-timed new red spot, and was surprised that it was still quite visible with one layer. It took three layers to adequately (though not entirely) disguise the redness. As you say, it is especially unsuited to dry skin (like most of Lisa's products, unfortunately, in my experience). Especially when layered enough to cover redness. I didn't get to test the longevity because one of the makeup artists tried using it to cover some redness on my chin and was quickly like "Abort! Abort!" 😄 I think she pretty much wiped it off and just used the tint, which also sells out my more dry/textured patches, though not as badly. (I want to slap people who say how hydrating the tint is. They and I clearly have very different skin and understanding of what hydrating means. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting here failing to moisturise and then blaming a product for not magically making my skin look perfect - I try my best with skincare and obviously there's only so much makeup can do - but at the same time, I'm not paying big bucks for something that makes it look worse than other products, or no makeup at all.) Regarding the cost factor: I think you're paying for the convenience. It would much easier to spot conceal on-the-go with this product, rather than having a pot of concealer and a brush in your makeup bag (assuming you use your finger to blend the pinpoint concealer rather than a brush). For a few small marks, great, and in a pinch - say you're out and need some emergency coverage, sure, scribble it on a larger area (if you're not a dry bitch like me) - but it doesn't make sense to use it that way on an ongoing basis. As you say, it would run out sooo quickly, and is not as efficient for larger areas as any other format of coverage product. To me it has a very specific use case, and will be absolute perfection for some people, but is really not for everyone. It's a skip for me. I look forward to a creamier concealer release, but won't hold my breath that it'll be for me either.
You are very wise to not have picked it up. I honestly still don’t know if I like the tint or not. I think it’s fine but I don’t think it’s anything revolutionary. Her complexion products all have soft matte finish for realistic skin finish which is not always dry skin friendly.
@Aijingaling Honestly, I am so grateful to live in London and be able to try out her products; it's saved me so much money. I know what you mean about the natural skin finish. I appreciate the look, and where my skin is good, they look nice, but then that's not where I need the help!
Great review, thanks! My skin is also dehydrated and mature and Lisas foundation, although great color match, was too dry for me. In this time I always wait for good reviews, bc there were some products, I was disapointed. I don't need a concealer now, so I'll pass. But it seems like good product for it's purpose.
@@chlomo2618 so well stated! I don’t even have dry skin (count me as “normal”), but the foundation looks dryyyyy on me if I simply apply it straight. 😬 I still use it because I can layer enough primer/moisturizer to make it look good, but I have to be motivated to want the best shade match (e.g. will be photographed that day) AND work a little harder to make it sit nicely. I remember in her launch video she said something like people would ideally prep their skin with something before applying it, but I had incorrectly assumed that was just people on the fringes (very dry or very oily). @Aijingaling I promise to stop commenting so much 😅 I’m just a chatty makeup lover, especially when it’s a healthy community and conversation 🩷
I am so happy to hear that we have the same opinions! I love LE and have all her products but this… is overhyped and too expensive. I’m curious to see how long it lasts for me
Another amazing thorough review, thank you👌🏻 I got overly excited when this release was announced. I adore Lisa and treasure the pin point technique and was looking to the convinience of this one. Now I'm glad I waited for reviews. I wouldn't mind the price, but the ratio of the product amount to the cost is low key criminal 😅 Why did I just assume the actual concealer instert will be almost as long as the pencil? The naivety 😁 Pencil concealers seem as old as makeup itself to me, but I thought maybe the tip will be super precise or the formula truly groundbreaking? 💁🏻♀️ On the plus size, I googled and it looks like there are quite a few other options so I may be able to find something that will suit my skin and my needs better. You're so right about what we're paying for here - the technique is so synonymous with her name that I was somewhat convinced this would be the best choice. It's good to remain cool-headed 😊
The price is too high. It is in a convenient package but the price is astronomical. Her other liner products have more product and cost less, it’s really crazy 👀🤯
Brought a smile to my face when you said you wouldn't use the sharpener to save product. That's exactly what I thought when I saw the size and construction of it lol
I bought one to match my skin. I just love the practicality and hygiene of a twist-up pencil. Will see how long it lasts with daily wear when used as intended - to cover up blemishes. I tend to do my makeup on the go and always hated potted concealers because i hate washing brushes. And i get worried using a brush that's been sat in my makeup bag to cover up already irritated and inflamed skin. And a finger isn't going to be be very precise. Let's see how quickly it runs out. I may have to try the MUFE pencils and see if i can achieve a similar result. Thank you for you review
Great review! My concelear broke in a first application and i wasn't even pressing it hard. The customer service was excellent in dealing with this issue. I find it quite hard to blend and it does really highlights the dry areas. Would I buy it again? No, because there is a high chance it might break while applying, looks dry on my skin (I get the same dryness with her foundation which I stopped using it for this reason), not as creamy as I expected and of course it is quite expensive. Coverage is not too bad however I can achieve better coverage with liquid concealers.
I love Lisa but this seems a bit over the top....nothing one can't achieve with concealer and a precision brush. My understanding is that there is still an actual concealer in the works so this is really only meant for blemishes not really under eye concealing. With this tiny amount it cannot be otherwise 🤣.
It’s so much easier to conceal spots on the go with this. I think it’s only for pinpoint concealing. It was ridiculously expensive (I paid shipping too 😭) but I believe the easy of use would be helpful for me.
Yes, it looks really convenient to cover the odd pimple or mark, especially on no makeup days but it's nothing revolutionary...many brands have similar products. And it's a lot of money for very little product. But if one can afford it🤷
My pinpoint concealer is on its way to me. I only got I shade to try the formula and make sure it doesn’t break me out. I’m hoping the pinpoint aspect makes it worth the cost-but we’ll see. I think the longevity with no powder or setting spray looked fantastic! You were so brave to roll it up!! 😅 So glad it didn’t snap off!! Whew!! Thank you for such a detailed review-as always!!!
The only reason why I got it was because of the shade (impossible to find a solid concealer in an olive shade that is light enough for me). And I use barely any product so I wanted a small format product that isn't in a pot that can dry out before I can finish using it.
I literally went and google the price for the gram of gold and cocaine, and was happy to find that at least this concealer is still (barely) cheaper than those 😂😂😂
I am not buying this product although I would certainly have for half the price, I have been spot concealing for years now and always managed to find a pigmented concealer to do that with, I like the Nars pot very much and use it with a fine brush, I personally do not like blending in product with my fingers. Thanks again for the great review. ❤
I ordered 1-4, despite the hefty tag& fact a pinpoint brush w a favorite concealer achieves the same. The writhing and shade # rubbing off is what I find most unacceptable. So sloppy. Lisa is usually so meticulous, I support her launches, even the face towel. I guess I will have to live with no name concealer pencils after i use these. ❤thank you for the best articulated & honest reviews.
I actually went today to get shade matched and try it out in Liberty. I wanted it primarily to cover my melasma. Unfortunately the artist (who was very competent and lovely) said I needed two shades. One to colour correct and then one to match my skin tone. I couldn’t possibly justify buying two of them. The whole appeal of this concealer was the idea of convenience. I wanted something that was portable and quick to take around in my bag. Where I wouldn’t need a brush/pot. But given the price and the fact I need two to accomplish what I wanted from it, I think I’ll just persevere with my Nars soft matte concealers and a brush and see if I can make that work. I wonder if the Laura Mercier secret camouflage double ended pen or compact version concealer would be a good alternative. The website says the size of is 2g of product. So still not a huge amount more. But you only need a tiny bit. With those you also get two shades. And the pen version would be convenient. it’s crazy that something like the Dior Forever skin Correct concealer (that I’d like to try) is 11ml currently for £30.26! I now it’s not an equivalent but it just shows how expensive this product is.
Totally agree, the world is going to shit for sure! Thanks for the honest review, I ordered more than a week ago still waiting for my order to be delivered. I don't need much Pinpoint concealing but had to try it because it's Lisa's and her products are the one luxury I alllow myself. I'm really waiting for the undereye concealer because I have dark circles and haven't yet found a product that does what I want, you're great! Love your content
@@Aijingaling for me too custard can lean too orange . Sometimes madeleine does the trick but not perfect either . Still on the hunt on a perfect matching concealer! I hope Lisa comes up with one ( but a bit cheaper )
thanks for that review! I ordered one bc i needed a few other items anyway, but i should've waited for your video, dang! my hope was that they would be budge-proof but they seem to rub off just like any other concealer. for that price, i think i'll stick to my laura mercier secret camouflage thingy for the time being ;)
Unfortunately they do not set down and become waterproof or budge proof for me. Just like her eyeliners which still smudge no matter how long I wait for them to set… 🫠
@@Aijingaling I have the same problem with her eyeliners! And I live in a hot humid climate. It's better if I don't apply too much but I cannot scribble like how she does in her videos.
Thank you for your thoughts on the price and trade mark, they make a lot of sense. There are several Korean and not Korean similar pencil concealer products for much, much less. Lisa is such an iconic and lovable MUA that when she releases a product, it almost feels that she is the first to ever do so. I bought so many of her lipsticks back in the day, even though I wasn’t a big lipstick wearer to start with, and I now I find myself reaching for other formulas before hers like Revlon (that has such great tones, particularly reds 😍) a couple of Chanels/Tom Ford and Suqqu, rather than my LE. Trying to keep my head cool as she always gets me!
I wish this was just a pot concealer with a tiny brush… I’ll probably still pick up one for the spots I would like to cover up if I don’t wear any other makeup. It would nice if she came out with a pot concealer like the NARS …cuz I have a lot of spots lol Thank you so much for the review. I’m shocked how little product there is…
I really think given the price/product ratio, I would not use this as na under-eye concealer or even over blemish alone by itself. I would definitely use my regular concealers to cover the majority of my spots and then just use a tiny bit of this on the darkest area of the spot pinpoint it. But that would mean it is a looooot of work so I don't think I'd do this everyday...maybe for a special occasion that would be good.
I think the problem with pricing this type of product is that this is a market price for a luxury eyeliner or lip pencil so since this is the same delivery system, it's priced the same. But it takes years to get through an eye or lip pencil because of how solid they are and how much one uses it compared to a concealer, so they really didn't think this through.
The eyeliner costs £24 and has 1.2grams, her lipliners are £20 or £21 and has 1.2grams Also, checkout my pinned comment about comparison to gold :) it’s just way too expensive.
As someone who has tiny freckles and light hyperpigmentation spots randomly scattered across my face, I felt like this was made for me. 🙋🏻♀️ Traditional concealers are just too big or too much product, even if I barely tap the doe foot on my skin and I hate fussing with a brush for those spots. The final reason I purchased is the confidence I have in Lisa’s color choices. No other brand has matched my undertone as well (i love both the tint and foundation). I still pondered long over which shades to order (5 and 8, which gave me a huge spread for winter and summer) because the chart and photos on the website seemed a little out of sync for my shades. Still waiting to receive my package to find out how I fared! TBH I paused at the price too, but was already ordering the pricey refillable lipstick, so my monkey brain saw the smaller number as a win. 🙃 I wasn’t planning to use this under my eyes, but I appreciate seeing you applying it there. Not done watching but gotta save this lengthy comment before it’s lost!
I am too baffled by the quantity of product... Definitely skipping this and waiting to see how her undereye concealer (she's hinted there's one in the pipeline) looks like!
Wow this is shocking! I think I will return mine… ain’t no way makeup should be expensive that good that’s crazy! If this was Asian makeup it would come with refills… I am shocked Lisa thought this was okay to sell for 0.4grams of product!!
It highlights the dryness on my spot so much… on redness it’s just okay not great and have to use a lot to really cover something.. it’s a fail for me..
Ok second comment… the price and amount is comparable to LE and other luxury brand creamy eyeliner pencils too? (Sorry I didn’t look up the actual amounts, just assuming based on the format) And used as a true pinpoint technique (to quickly cover a few spots here and there), it may last just as long as a liner… I fully agree that it’s overpriced, but that’s true for a LOT of makeup 😅
You can’t complain about a product when you don’t use it properly. Lisa Eldridge has videos out, which you must have seen. First, two of the pencils were the wrong shade. I knew that when you said which ones you got. You don’t even pay attention to which undertones you have. Second, you were using it under your eyes which even she says it’s not meant for and would be too expensive to do. Third, you were using way too many layers on your chin which was in the middle of a bad breakout. Every review where the person uses it properly it worked great.
It’s not a bad breakout I’ve used it on. It was a breakout I’m recovering from and have had for MONTHS from stress. It was only a bit of texture and hyperpigmentation. I am not the only person who found this to be not 100% full coverage. This was not a first impression video, unlike many other videos out there. Please show me another video where the reviewers gets as close up as I do in 4K. ALSO, NO PRODUCT IS AMAZING for everyone. So this is my opinion and my experience and please do not discredit that. Lisa herself uses around her eyes and I used her shade matching tool on the website.
You are really on point with your review👍 (as always😊) and your thoughts about price are very interesting 👏. We have nearly the same colour in Foundation (9) and Tint (5, your comparison video was very helpful and I think 6 would be also ok for me) and I ordered 3 and 5. They are on the way. I'm not a heavy concealer user, because it always looks not good on me, too much product, difficult to blend... I hope this works better. Of course I bought years ago Lisa's heavy used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer 😅, but that was a little bit dry.
A very clever subscriber commented about price of gold compared to this concealer so:
Concealer £67.5/gram
Gold £70-71/gram
Her eyeliner costs £24 and has 1.2grams, her lipliners are £20 or £21 and has 1.2grams

Thank you for the review and giving alternatives! i decided I am not spending almost £30 on a tiny pencil. Unreasonable.
Especially not with an economic crisis pending
I literally went and google the price for the gram of gold and cocaine, and was happy to find that at least this concealer is still (barely) cheaper than those 😂😂😂
hilarious you did that 😆🤣 upvote this comment so much 🤣
I am not buying this product although I would certainly have for half the price, I have been spot concealing for years now and always managed to find a pigmented concealer to do that with, I like the Nars pot very much and use it with a fine brush, I personally do not like blending in product with my fingers. Thanks again for the great review. ❤
The NARS concealer is fantastic 💕💕
I get ocasional breaknouts during my time of the month...so I am really excited about this ...just small carry on with me
I agree you are buying her trademark too. I do love her but to me this is just not worth my spend unless I use it for a vascular spot on my nose.
Awww thank you so much! 🥹
You are the first person I see that wears the same shades as me for Lisa Eldridge ! What is your shade in the nars concealer ?
I wear custard but it’s a bit too warm sometimes!
@@Aijingaling for me too custard can lean too orange . Sometimes madeleine does the trick but not perfect either . Still on the hunt on a perfect matching concealer! I hope Lisa comes up with one ( but a bit cheaper )
thanks for that review! I ordered one bc i needed a few other items anyway, but i should've waited for your video, dang! my hope was that they would be budge-proof but they seem to rub off just like any other concealer. for that price, i think i'll stick to my laura mercier secret camouflage thingy for the time being ;)
I’m sure you will still enjoy the LE concealer, but maybe just not as much as you’d hope 😆
They do set after about 2 or 3 minutes, much like her other complexion products and are waterproof. I tested 2 shades today.
Keep calm and carry on 😆
I wish this was just a pot concealer with a tiny brush…
I’ll probably still pick up one for the spots I would like to cover up if I don’t wear any other makeup.
It would nice if she came out with a pot concealer like the NARS …cuz I have a lot of spots lol
Thank you so much for the review.
I’m shocked how little product there is…
Does it have the same formula as the eyeliners? 😅
lol no, it blends out way more easily. And the eyeliner is £24 for 1.2grams, which is still cheaper than the concealer 🥴
The eyeliner costs £24 and has 1.2grams, her lipliners are £20 or £21 and has 1.2grams
Also, checkout my pinned comment about comparison to gold :) it’s just way too expensive.
Great review. I want to purchase but I'm not going to do it. The cost verses quantity is just annoying.
Agree!
I wasn’t planning to use this under my eyes, but I appreciate seeing you applying it there. Not done watching but gotta save this lengthy comment before it’s lost!
Oh I must add, I hate those “sharpeners” on the ends of pencils too! 🤦🏻♀️ they don’t work on soft textured tips
Right…?!?!?! What’s the point of those sharpeners?! So useless!
Yikes thats $$$ for the amount you get. Thank you for rhe thoughtful review as always❤
Thank YOU for watching!!
I am too baffled by the quantity of product... Definitely skipping this and waiting to see how her undereye concealer (she's hinted there's one in the pipeline) looks like!
It’s too expensive 😔
@@Aijingalingtotally. I understand being a luxury brand, but this is very silly.
Hello! Have you reviewed sculpting lip pencils on your channel? If yes, what's the video's name, please?
No not yet. I’ve recorded it but haven’t edited it yet 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
@@Aijingaling thanks for replying! I'be waiting for your reviews despite the fact I don't need any lip products. :D
Hahahahahaha I think the original formula is better. I talk about them briefly in my worst and best products in 2024 😘
Wow this is shocking!
I agree with the dryness and it’s not full coverage with one layer. Not worth the price!
@@Aijingalingindeed! Do you have a favourite for spot concealing that doesn’t look dry? Thanks for replying by the way 🥹
@@mercedesssssz4004to be honest the NARS Soft matte concealer works really well for me for everything! 😆 it really is my holy grail
No her eyeliners are £24 for 1.2g of product. So her concealer is just a tiny amount of product 🫠
@ doh! interesting! 🫢 we shall see whether the community will bear it 🫣
That’s a rip off. I am sure there is a Korean brand that has a similar product at a fair price. Lisa Eldridge brand is so overhyped and overpriced.
She does have some great products but this isn’t one of them at that price point 🥴
Why are you wearing a mask??
Thank you so much!! 🥰
I totally agree and it’s why I skipped on this.
