  • Welcome to our latest Magic: The Gathering deck tech video, where we dive into an unconventional take on Hydra Tribal featuring none other than Polukranos Reborn // Polukranos, Engine of Ruin as our commander! In this deck, we explore a strategy that revolves around cheating out hydras, leveraging our commander's unique abilities, and overwhelming our opponents with a Hydra army like never before.
Polukranos Reborn's ability to create token hydras upon death becomes the cornerstone of our deck's strategy. But the fun doesn't stop there. We've packed our deck with reanimation spells to keep the Hydra train rolling. Cards like "Enduring Renewal" and "Ascend from Avernus" ensure that even if our hydras meet an untimely demise, they'll soon be back, ready to wreak havoc once again. With this constant revival, our opponents will find it nearly impossible to keep our Hydra army at bay.
To truly maximize our Hydra output, we've included token doublers in our arsenal. Cards like "Doubling Season" and "Parallel Lives" work wonders in doubling the number of hydras we create, turning what would be a formidable force into an unstoppable tidal wave of destruction. With these doublers in play, our opponents will soon find themselves overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of our Hydra horde.
Join us as we unveil the secrets of our Polukranos Reborn deck, showcasing a Hydra Tribal strategy unlike any other. Whether you're a seasoned commander looking for a new challenge or a Hydra enthusiast eager to unleash the full potential of these mighty creatures, this deck tech has something for everyone. Prepare to witness the power of Polukranos and dive headfirst into the world of Hydra Overload!

Last year had some real hidden gems! I like the interesting take on the (x) spells wanting them to be 0

This deck looks really cool! What is the usual play pattern like? Is it pretty consistent?

Indeed, probably one of my most consistent decks I have which i really enjoy about it. General play patter is Ramp -> card draw engine/token doubler-> Commander + transform -> slamming cheap hydras, drawing a bunch of cards while creating an amy of 3/3 LL + reach hydras. The rest goes on from there holding up interaction, recursion if needed.
Hoping to get to a combo with nim death mantle + ashnods altar + generic hydra eventually; or enduring renewal + a cheap hydra in hand, because then you have access to either infinite 3/3s or as many 3/3s = to the amount of green mana you have lol.
