No dog in this fight....I have Curry. As great as KD has been, Curry is a legit threat to score from anywhere on the court, which is why he is transformational.
Luka vs Booker is a good one, but the separator is that Luka can straight up control the tempo of a game in the way that Lebron does. But Luka always has the bad defense too :(
Curry hands down. He's the only player right now you need to double the moment he crosses half court because of how lethal he is at ANY range. Second, and probably the most underrated side of Curry, he has the ability to rally and strengthen the locker room and the franchise culture. People who have played with Steph repeat the same thing over and over: Curry's energy and work ethic are infectious.
Curry and the GSW forced the NBA to evolve and that changed how teams started building their rosters. I feel like we've evolved past that time in many ways, but in other ways Curry's legacy is part of the current game. KD is awesome and I am loath to say that so and so is better than somebody as outstanding as him, but I think Curry has had a larger impact on the NBA as a whole and I think he's arguably the better player.
Durant was NEVER the better player, Curry was just secure in himself and had more playoff success in two years than KD had in his entire life and yet Curry chose to defer. Durant has done NOTHING in the playoffs for years when it was just him as a solo artist, like Curry vs my Celtics in 2022, or LeBron in 2018 which is the best complete player I ever saw. Durant benefited so much from Curry being a great basketball player and a great teammate. It's like when the smartest kid in the class starts feeding answers to the underconfident B student. People marvel at Durant's scoring and defense because of his height, but he wouldn't have those capacities if it were not for his height... He's an underrated passer and help defender but the idiots who were acting like he was the best player in the league were just suffering from LeBron fatigue. If your life depended on it and you had to choose LeBron, Curry, or Durant, you would take Durant last or you would die. Simple as that.

@brentwaller37 if you put Booker on the Celtics they're a worse team, Booker just became a average defender. The strength of the Celtics is that for the most part their two best players Jaylen and Tatum can switch guarding the other teams best player unless it's another guard who they usually leave to Smart in the past and now D.White or Jrue

EASY LMAO. Steph Curry every single time. Highest peak. Longest peak. Durant rode Curry to 2 free championships. We were destined to have one of the greatest rivalries of NBA history but Durant spoiled it and ruined 3 years of basketball. Cleveland & Lebron vs Golden State & Curry had that potential. Durant never did.
I know I’ll get hate for this but curry had the perfect team built around him. That was pure luck. Also curry only won in 2015 cause the cavs were hurt. If you replace curry for Durant in 2016 I truly believe that the warriors win
If KD was on the team, it wouldn't be the same team. You say it was the perfect team for Steph. Not that he made the team the perfect team for him. KD was on a pretty good team too, before and after GSW. If he is so plug and play, why the lack of success anywhere else? Lebron won championships with different teams too, but none of those teams were good before he came, and none of them won championships after he left. Lebron is the one guy who we've seen turn a whole team around in his prime. KD had good situation after good situation, and disappointed every time. Except for the time he joined a proven winner, that won before, and after him. So we know it wasn't him carrying the team. He was a bandwagon champion.
@@shorewall Durant had Westbrook. Literally nobody else has been able to win with Westbrook; lebron couldn’t win with Westbrook. Westbrook isn’t a winning player. As for the nets; the nets big three only played like 20 games together. I’m sure you know this. Idk why I have to explain it to you
It’s KD. We saw those Finals. He was unstoppable. LeBron himself will tell you that KD is his ultimate rival. They’ve played 14 Finals games and they both go off for 30 PPG. He never talks about teaming up with KD for a reason. They both won’t talk about it. Every all star draft Bron will take KD 1st. It’s the ultimate sign of respect.
They play the same position. You think 6'8" Lebron is gonna say 6'3" Steph is his main rival? But what team that KD was on gave Lebron trouble? Which one? The 73-9 team that almost beat Lebron without KD? That team? Yeah, KD is unstoppable, when defenses scramble to cover Curry at the 3pt line and let KD go to the hoop. KD is unstoppable when he plays on a 73-9 team that added him. People talk about him on the Warriors like he was carrying some bums. Not being carried. He didn't win before, and he hasn't won since. But Curry had won before, and has won since.
The only thing you're right about is that we indeed saw those finals. KD wasn't unstoppable. The Cavs didn't even try to stop him. They were too busy trying to stop Steph. See, this is actually a very simple exercise for you. In order to find the best offensive player on the court, all you really have to do is watch the opposing defense. Who do they prioritize? When you come up with the answer to that question, you've also answered who the best offensive player is. When KD played with Russ, KD was prioritized. So he was better. When KD played with Kyrie, KD was prioritized. So he was better. When he played with Steph? Steph was prioritized. Steph is better. Whether Lebron views KD as his ultimate rival or not is irrelevant. We saw who Lebron's team prioritized. It wasn't KD.
all this Steph over KD talk and KD still clears Steph statistically lmao....winning rings is a team achievement that involves a ton of variables btw but I know the copium is very strong so I understand the confusion
Durant's a better player, Curry has a better career and makes his teams better with his attitude. Durant joined Curry's team and won two finals mvps. So that is very telling who the better player is on the greatest stage. But I would rather have Steph on my team in general.
That does not tell who is better on the greatest stage. KD played the NBA on easy mode while he was in GSW. Teams were obsessed with stopping Steph, and KD got open looks all over the place. He didn't carry, he got carried.
This is nonsense he says healthy KD then goes on to say last year's playoffs forgetting that KD got insured and played 8 games with the Suns. No one is picking a Steph over a healthy KD
KD and it’s not close. Steph you need players willing to set all those screens for him and players to cover him up defensively. With KD, I can just role the ball out there and get his peak performance.
Steph has the far better career and will go down as the better and more accomplished player. I’m not making excuses for Durant, but his lack of success after leaving the Ws was largely due to injuries and his teammates. If I’m guaranteed a healthy season, I’m taking Durant. If Steph and Durant played on the same team again, Steph would still (and rightly so) defer to Durant.
Prime KD is clearly a better player than prime Curry, neither one of them are good on ball defenders BUT KD in his prime was always decent to slightly above average whereas prime Curry was a terrible defender. It's also way easier to plug and play KD or build around him we've seen KD be successful with glaringly different supporting cast.
Curry is better than Durant. It really isn’t close. Durant has some insane skills but is a head case, emotional roller coaster, egomaniac, and d the furthest thing from a leader. Take Curry 1000x out of 1000
Devin Booker is not a top 5 player. Jokic Giannis Embiid Luka Curry Durant Lebron AD Tatum Shai Butler And then you get into people like Tyrese Haliburton, Donovan Mitchell, Ja Morant, Domantas Sabonis Booker is around the 12-15th best player if we're being honest. No dog in this fight....I have Curry. As great as KD has been, Curry is a legit threat to score from anywhere on the court, which is why he is transformational.
Easier to build a team with Curry than Durant
Luka vs Booker is a good one, but the separator is that Luka can straight up control the tempo of a game in the way that Lebron does. But Luka always has the bad defense too :(
There''s 11 dimensions hypothetically, and in all 11 i'm picking Curry over KD. What are we even talking about here lol
A lot of 🧢😁
I’m hoping curry is just a player that when he’s gone (retired) people will finally respect him the way he deserves. It isn’t close between him and Durant. You hit the nail on the head
@@D15-b8j idk what blue hats mean, Mr. ANONYMOUS
To start my team KD as an individual. But if I can get curry with dray or klay is more of an argument for curry imo.
Luka and Kyrie couldn't even make the fucking pay in tournament what is the obsession with these two, folks have them ranked higher than Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum as a duo like wtf
Ryan is definitely on a island with Phoenix fans and Celtics haters no way is Booker better than Tatum. Tatum is the better scorer, rebounder, and defender the only thing Booker does better is playmake and it's not like he's elite at it
I don't know, if you put Booker on the Celtics these last few years...
I've never understood the Steph KD debate becaue since 2015 it hasn't been one. Steph has achieved so much more as "the guy", he's the second best player of his generation behind only LeBron.
Steph is at the peak of his powers now
This would have been an interesting question 4-8 years ago.
Curry
If I have to hear Ceruti talk about Franz Wagner another podcast it’s going to be an issue.
I loved when he was making the comparison and saying Mobley is more of a #2 option... does he think Franz is a serious #1 option on a competitive team? 😂
@@jamesh7469 projecting the ability they’ve already shown? I think yea franz looks like he could at least develop into that and he has that skill set. Mobley looks like his skill set is more conducive to being a number 2, a complimentary player to the bucket getter type guy
It’s not close….it’s Steph it’s always been Steph…he’s a top 2-3 point guard and the greatest shooter ever
Yea I’d take curry too. Also not only is he what you listed but I’d say at this point he’s also arguably top 10 all time. I think he is but it is debatable cus it’s a matter of if he’s top 10 who do you take out?
Come on. Mobley has elite defensive skills. As long as he has the work ethic, he’ll develop a decent offensive game.
Curry obviously, Durant needs to prove he can win without Curry before we act like he's one of the goats.
Durant was NEVER the guy. Overshadowed by LeBron, then Steph, then it was too late with the likes of Jokic. If 1 on 1. Perhaps. But overall it has always been Steph over Durant if you want a championship.
2021 Durant playoffs was crazy special they should've never traded for Harden that year.
Basketball is a team sport and that's why Curry is the better pick than KD. They're both otherworldly, but would you rather have a team that plays Durant's style or Curry's? I'd say Curry
I want to address something I keep hearing lately. Another new debate topic they've come up with! Who had the better peak? It kind of reminds me of the GOAT conversation! How can you top 6-0? I'm no genius but 6-0 is better than 4-6! Thus leading a team to the best regular season record ever 73-9!( I know they lost but it doesn't change that fact) and winning Unanimous MVP! I'm open to listening to how you top that! Maybe Jordan's first 3 peat? If the question is peak season then you can't top that! My opinion!
11 and 1. Context matters
Dont forget the Fultz thing
Curry’s existence is the reason KD has rings; it’s not a hard answer at all. It’s Steph all day every day
You gotta be able to utilize Curry the right way. In GSW, he is worth more than Durant. He is what they say Lebron does which is make everyone better.
What really kills kd legacy is missing those 2 prime years after leaving the warriors. That was his time to be the undesputed best player in the league. With him gone the title went to the Greek and kd never had his time
People would’ve laughed in your face two years ago when saying Franz over Mobley but I’m hear for it
Durant never had a season like Curry did in 2016 and never had a playoff run like Curry did in 2015 or 2022. Curry peaked higher.
Curry 100x over ahead of durant..more chips, more skills, more fun, much better attitude.
Curry changed the NBA...top 5 all time, name another player in nba history with currys combination of skills, I'll wait...
Booker never carried a team , Tatum has over and over
Carried to what?
He took the suns to the finals bafoon.
8:12 it’s crazy cuz Ginnas gets injury pass for his teammates he even got one this year but no one ever give Joel that same energy there’s nobody on national television hyping Joel or tlkn good about him besides Skip Bayless plz stop! Imagine if Jokic had to deal with Harden & before Ben Simmons instead a dude matching his pts in almost every playoff games do y’all pros sit and look at these things v
It’s crazy to me how anybody can say Joel don’t get blames he literally got all the blame these past two years no one was tlkn bout Simmons until he didn’t play the next year they was saying it was all on Joel idk what world you living in
Gianna’s got Drew now Lillard! But yet Joel has had two carry Sixers three drama filled teammates nobody cares but soon Jokic loose Murray winning 43 games he winning mvp ! That’s wild to me
Durant is not a scarier offensive threat than Curry.
This is nonsense. It's Curry and its not even close. Its amazing that people still act as if KD was the best player on those Warrior teams.
One guy shot better percentages from everywhere, more clutch, average more(30 to 26) played better defense and wasn’t a liability on defense like the other in 42 postseason games 😁 but curry is better, the delusion. When have we ever did that??
@@D15-b8j one guy had 1on1 opportunities, was getting open lane dunks and was so open, he was flailing his arms around like a bird, while the other guy was getting blitzed on defense with double teams because the opponents head coach said he was the most dangerous player on the court. Oh, and the record shows that without Curry, KD and teh Warriors were barely over 500, but vice versa, the dubs were winning 80% of their games. And what has KD done since creating superteams? Who's delusional again? lol
@@remnant8898 The proof is in the pudding. It's all there. Those who can see, let them see.
That’s hilarious bcuz just game 6 alone this past playoffs that’s how you can tlk about Joel being better then Jokic! Murray in his game 6 against KD had 35 James & Tobias had 14 pts combined while Joel had 26 on a bum knee wtf !
Embiid or Curry? Booker or AD? Booker or Dame? Dame or SGA?
What do you mean the durant belt was taken to giannis? When was durant ever the best player in the league?
People wanna act like curbstomping with the Warriors made him the best. Lol hell naw. That made him worse! He had all the help of a championship team, didn't have to lead, didn't have to be the alpha. We've seen the clips of teams letting him go to the hoop because they are scrambling to Steph at the 3pt line.
If anything, Lebron somehow became the underdog, and best player in the world for fighting the good fight. Then along came Giannis.
Neither Franz or Mobely are 1s on a good team. Knowing EM would be my number 2/3, I'd rather have him
Wait so basketball is literally a team sport last five championships had two guys who can score @ least 22 ppg to win but Joel his hiding behind a guy he doesn’t shoot and harden who two out 11 playoff games ? This meanwhile Giannas is going to ride dames success never work on his jump shot this wild to mw
Still don't understand how someone goes Luka over the reigning, landslide MVP.
18:36 I like the pod but y’all are pros bro under mile Malone Demarcus Cousins looked like the best big in the league , he’s had good success with bigs how Jokic just this best player in the world cuz he gets two more rebs then Murray? Like stop !
I hate seeing Steve Ceruti's name written out, I like to imagine y'all are talking about a guy you call Sir Rudy
Curry at this point because Durant is getting older now. Durant's defense has declined badly now.
You take Curry off those Durant teams, they don't win those two titles. No analyst mentions this point.
Steph has been better than Durant every single year since 2015. By quite a margin, at times
Peak at the powers how does Durant go to that GSW team?????
One relies on a team to put him in position to be great and the other carries a team through his own greatness. Give me KD.
Curry is much better than KD
It’s been Steph for awhile now, don’t really think it’s close.
Only thing given to Durant is size
Cant believe Steph’s older than him! I kinda feel Steph is currently better, but peak KD is ahead.
I'm taking 2016/2022 curry over any KD version
@@simplifiedstuff2135 I actually think Curry’s peak is the last three years. He’s filled out now, not a liability on defence. Takes it to the rim easier etc. KD was the best player on that team when they were together though.
I kno for a fact that guys like steph new he couldn't beat LBJ with out getting kD dregreen say it out of his mouth point blank team been doing this for years to beat LBJ you guys kno this LBJ is the king 1Love
Its always been Curry
in FUCKING 2023 is this still a topic of discussion?
Seriously, what's the debate here? Curry ended all conversations about Durant for good last year, just stop it
Idk why I have to explain it to you
Sir Rooney
Rudy.
Durant never lead a to the chip!!! He was a bus rider curry proved last chip he isn’t. Durant went to him that’s ur proof
Yup, KD only won on a team that won before and after him, with the same core. And he hasn't won before or since. Perfect lab conditions.
I'd rather Wemby.
But steph a the team had two beg this man to come kno to beat LBJ point blank LBJ 👑👑🤑🤑❤
Luka is wayyyyyy better than Booker

Losing in the playoffs.
Ah yes, the good ol "but steph needs screens" argument from morons who don't watch the games.

Steph has missed just as many games. Go look up the numbers
Define successful.
Curry is better than Durant. It really isn’t close. Durant has some insane skills but is a head case, emotional roller coaster, egomaniac, and d the furthest thing from a leader. Take Curry 1000x out of 1000

Giannis
Embiid
Luka
