My father was from Swansea, but I saw The Alarm in Toronto at "Larry's Hideaway" in The 80s. I was mesmerized by their presence. They came on stage, and all four guys came to the front of the stage, in a line, playing their jangling guitars. So fantastic!!!
I met him at the Coachhouse in San Juan cap in CA, and we talked and he asked me how I was and he meant it. He seemed like such a gentle man, like he didn’t belong with the rest of us. Just how I perceived him in the few minutes he gave me in conversation. I hope this music stays alive. It deserves too.
Man, whether UK or America, or wherever, we lived in times that just had us finding songs, building, tinkering, and figuring stuff out. We are truly forever young.
I'm actually a teddy boy, going to be 56 in December, so the 80s was great, we had punk, new wave, Reggie, pop, rap, syth music, heavy rock, mods, every thing... I was listening to elvis, but there was also matchbox, crazy cavern....then my mates played me the alarm...the only "modern" band that spoke to me, knew my life in a rough industrial area, looking out at the bright lights....seen them about 10 times

Great Anthem. Timeless. My 19 year old jams out to this with me and I am 59.
God forever bless you Mike
This guy might be the most likable human being I’ve ever seen…..

Great song ✨
I always felt they were a great band. Loved them then, love them now. Saw them in early 1983 at a college Spring Weekend campus party.

They are still a great band. Seen them a few times.

Amazing band.
He heard in a big country and thought oh shit, the bar has been raised
Towards the end, is that Rob Lowe??? 👀
Good story !
I always thought the song title referred to the 68-pounder cannons they used to have in the old Men-O-War. Seems I was mistaken.
Carrie - naturally beautiful ❤
At 1.53 is that Stuart Adamson
