Awesome.
Oh man, it took me a second to realize that Curt Smith was on the bass! And that's Roland all over that stage. Yep! Well, there they are, TFF in the making. Wow! TFF is in my top three best bands of all time, to me. Love it! Wow!
@ronniedoorzon1576 "Everybody wants to rule the world" and "Shout," of course. There is plenty about them to admire.
I saw them in concert, once, in Reno. What an evening that was. They had just released their "Everybody loves a happy ending" album.
I think i remember seeing this coming back from school one day! Wouldnt have remembered it was Tears though!
Jesus, now I can't stop listen this one 😂😍
Thanks for watching and commenting
Me neither I'm stuck now 😂 first i thought okay it isn't my favorite song but it's not bad and now i love it 😂
this is the 3rd time I've listened to this song in 24 hours lol
You can hear elements of TFF in this through the vocal delivery and Roland's spicy delivery 🙂
Great document!!! Thank you for share this.
Never seen this, well maybe as a kid. Loved them since the 80s, thanks
i'm entranced by how angry/intense that lead vocalist is, he's performing at an entirely different level from everyone else in that room.
Must've scared the hell out of the kids...
It's Roland Orzabal, futur lead composer and singer of Tears For Fears
This is really out of left field. A penpal of mine introduced me to Graduate, then I saw TFF live in the mid 80s being all cool and polished following the release of Big Chair, and one afternoon I walked past a hotel and saw Curt and Roland getting into their car, there was Head Over Heels in the Donnie Darko movie and Seeds of Love playing in a store everyday where I worked , one of my major fave musicians Steven Wilson has worked with them and I watched a live BBC concert a little while back when on hols and my flatmate has most of their stuff now. They've been following me around for decades! And fine cos they're not a bad band at all! My fave song is Sea Song. Btw, big shout out to all my old penpals from back in the day....we used to write a heck of a load of letters about TFF, there was a massive worldwide TFF network then in the 80s before the time of Social Media. We found a way. Happy days! 😻
Hello good afternoon, do you know what happened to the other members of this band?
They were so brilliant since the beginning. I love them
Kind of a weird yet catchy tune. You could hear there were hints of song writing and arrangement abilities from the duo. Still at this stage in their life and career no record executive could know for sure if this duo could crank out magical hits. Turns out this quirky, weird pop tune was just the tip of the ice berg. Hats off to the record exec. who knew way ahead of time they were destined to be super stars.
It sounds like 60's British pop , with some inspiration from the Beatles , i would say.
Very far from the music in 1980 with punk new wave, etc.....
@@jean-louispech4921why does everyone scream muh bEaTLeS about every brit band that sounds nothing like them? There was no Beatles energy or sound here.

I was talking about melodies, it remember me the style of melodies from Beatles and some other british bands of the 60's.
7yrs later they would leave an imprint on the 80’s and change music forever
You do realise this was 1980?
Already the signs of greatness are here, and it's unsurprising that the band "graduated" with first class honours to even greater heights!!
Roland and Curt so cute in this! The kids in the audience stayed glued to their epic movements!
Great find! Actually having been through Big Chair etc my fave album is actually Roland's own "Elemental" with "Mr Pesssimister" being a fave.
Boy, those kids were certainly a, um, perfunctory audience.
Kurt and Roland are such a talent, thank you for all your fantastic music guys . They were absolutely epic in the 80s heyday
I loved watching this performance. At this early stage of their musical career they had no idea how big they would become.
TFF is my favorite band since forever!
Wow, flute being cool!!
shades of Jethro Tull...
Especially at that time - the ultimate 60s/prog instrument in the new wave era!
A energia que floresceu para o tears for fears de 80. Magnífico!
This is amazing. Never seen this before. I was a huge TFF fan (especially The Hurting album) and so was my sister, Growing up in the United States we couldn't get our hands on this kind of stuff but thanks to TH-cam AND this uploader I get to catch up on all the stuff I missed. Never thought I'd get to listen let alone watch Graduate live. Thank you!
They weren't live though.......2:57 Suddenly no one played the flute.
Catchy as hell!! Gonna stay in my head for days now!!
It is very catchy. They were always good song writers.
Totally awesome 😅❤ !!!
