Couldn’t agree more. A friend and I walked up Ben Nevis with Mike and his wife Jules,as part of the Ben Nevis Rocks cancer charity that Mike set up,and they are 2 of the nicest, most down to earth people you could ever meet.Mike standing with the acoustic guitar, outside the visitor centre,at 5 o’clock in the morning, singing ‘We Are The Light’just as the mountain was starting to appear out of the darkness in the background, was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life🥲

Under the anvil of the sun
    Sweat, like a train
    I come, I come
    My body to dust
Scorched by the might of the sun
    Burning light, burning white heat
    Like wildfire
    I sweat a fever
    My body screams
    Disintegrates in the heat
Our love is the FAITH that keeps on burning
I love to feel the RAIN IN THE SUMMERTIME
I love to feel the rain on my face
I love to feel the RAIN IN THE SUMMERTIME
I love to feel the rain on my face
Burnt at the stake, on a bed of fire
    My body rises
    Taking me higher
    My loves desire
    Is pure ascension fire
And love is the FAITH that keeps on burning
I love to feel the RAIN IN THE SUMMERTIME
I love to feel the rain on my face
I love to feel the RAIN IN THE SUMMERTIME
I love to feel the rain on my face
And then I run 'til the breath tears my throat
'Til the pain hits my side
As if I run fast enough
I can leave all the pain and the sadness behind
I love to feel the RAIN IN THE SUMMERTIME
I love to feel the rain on my face

Great band and fantastic memories of a decade that I had the pleasure of growing up in. My son always asks me "Dad were the 80s really that good ?" So I took him to see his first concert Tears For Fears when he was 13 16years ago and he still talks about it .. He's 29 now and says he grew up in the wrong music era ...

God damn! I've never paid this song nearly the attention it deserves. I'm 53, so I heard this when I was a kid, but I never gave it a second thought. Right now, being mildly drunk and with the world getting more and more stupid by the second, is just the right moment for this fine piece of music to penetrate my brain. So much passion and power in his voice! I am now a fine, like 38 years late.

2:57 love how U2 used this riff in their music later. The Alarm, I was 16 in 1985 when I first heard them. Didnt care for the music, I was into Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath. Fast forward over 30 years to 6 months ago and I listen to The Alarm everyday in my car on a USB stick, everyday I play THIS song after a hard friggin day at work.

I tried to fine the interviews with Mike Peters and Bono. And cannot find them on TH-cam. The Alarm had toured with U2 on the War or Unforgettable Fire. So, the sound of the Alarm was familiar.

It was the late 80s and my 2 favorite bands were U2 and The Alarm. I dragged my GF, who became my wife, and a bunch of friends to see these guys at Hammerjacks in Baltimore, MD on the end of the Electric Folklore tour... Hammerjacks is lone gone, right next to M&T Stadium today... absolutely incredible show... and then a few months later my buddy said they had broken up on stage. I was gutted, but it's so awesome that we still have their music and can relive the past!!! These guys could have been absolutely huge, in a way they were!!!

A few of them had said they had forgotten the song or it reminded them of their college days. The rain eventually stopped by they kept playing it in the press box between innings anyway.

Bono cannot even approach the creativity and overall talent that the blessed Mike Peters possesses in tonnage. U2 were commercial cuties before they even realized that they were phony sellouts only interested in top 40 ditty’s. Since the savage, severe strength of “DECLARATION “, when I first noticed and started listening to their music, The Alarm are known only to folks who truly appreciate incredible songwriting, brilliant musicians who played to the hearts of those who really knew the importance of tremendous lyrical composition that stood for truth, faith, and the correct way of living through this depraved world of ours. May GOD Bless Mike Peters and the rest of the Chaps…
